Maya is now MOLLY. She is a good dog, a sweet dog. She is very smart and knows where to find her stuff. She is spoiled! She has lots of balls, lots of toys and she loves to play fetch all day. She is so friendly with people and is fine on walks. I have a foster home and one of the guys takes her for a run each day which she loves She is good with my 13 year old granddaughter and very nice with my 3 year old granddaughter. She is not aggressive, just gets very excited. She is ok with other dogs. She has a huge fenced in back yard and really enjoys it. She is all potty trained- not one accident in the house. She hasn't chewed up one thing that wasn't hers. Her vet visit was all good. We love her. We visited her several times to pick the right dog and had another dog in mind. When we met Molly, she sat on my feet, and when my daughter visited she also sat on my daughter's feet so she must have been telling us that she belonged to us and was holding on to us. We just love her. 197 days at Greenhill! Fostered by: Misaki K./Isaac G. and Stella S./Nick M. Fostered by: Paulette M. & Sarah H. The last month has been amazing. We are so in love with Oprah and Olive. We kept their names and have also gave them nicknames: Ollie and Opy. No other pets at home. Yes, they had a stellar visit and were so good natured with the vet. They were exploring and even climbing in cabinets...more so Olive but Oprah was super chill with the experience. No specific stories other than really getting to know their individual personalities. Olive loves to play and jump in windows to watch life outside. Oprah is definitely chill but definitely has a playful side. They are both so loving and special. We feel so lucky to have adopted them. The adoption experience with Greenhill Was great. Everyone was super helpful and extremely nice. Great experience and love the Cattery. Dawn has been volunteering since February 2017 and has contributed over 675 hours of service to our shelters! She is consistently one of our most active volunteers every month, helping at both shelters with all sorts of cleaning, Volunteer Department office work, Development Office assistance, and special events in the community. Dawn is always willing to take on more responsibilities and help out wherever we have a need, and we are so happy to have her on our volunteer team! Dawn s favorite part of volunteering with us is meeting new people and helping the animals in our care in any way she can. She regularly goes out of her way to help welcome and train new volunteers during their first shifts, even when she s Volunteer of the Month: Dawn B. Foster of the Month: Tori B. and Family Meet our Foster of the Month, Tori B. and her family! Tori and her family have been kitten fosters for almost a year now! They saw a request for foster families on the local news and decided to foster since they were not ready to commit to having an animal of their own! We had heard that kittens are a particularly vulnerable population at shelters, so we were most interested in fostering them. Tori said. Tori homeschools and they love to take road trips to see national parks and monuments! Fostering has been a great educational experience for all of us, but our 12-year-old daughter has especially learned a lot about kittens working in a completely different area of the shelter. In her own words, volunteering with us has taught her that there is a large community of caring, dedicated people and the staff and volunteers work very hard to ensure each animal, in their care, attains a better life. Although she is passionate about working with animals, Dawn started out in a very different field! Upon graduating from college, Dawn worked as a computer con- sultant with Fortune 500 companies. After 20 years of working in what she describes as a high stress field, she was ready for a change and decided to follow her love for animals. She went on to work as a Certified Veterinary Technician and Certified Pharmacy Technician until her retirement last year. Dawn moved to Eugene from Newport about three and a half years ago. In her free time, she enjoys photography, glass fusing, lampworking, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She has extensive past volunteer experience, including work with the Shedd Aquarium, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Oregon Raptor Center, Lincoln County Animal Shelter, and Lane County Meals on Wheels. and their behavior and health. In fact, she s now interested in becoming a veterinarian. Tori says, Fostering for Greenhill is a small amount of effort for a huge amount of payoff. It s a win-win situation. We get to have kittens, then we get to have more kittens, then we get to have even more kittens, and we are helping all of those kittens have a better chance to be adopted and loved. We ve been so impressed by Greenhill s support of its foster families. If we ever need anything we get a response right away and all of our concerns are taken seriously. We never feel like we re in it alone.
Volume Page 3 Ned Adopted 1/10/18! 7 days at First Avenue! Ned is a wonderful cat. He snuggles with me, likes pets but is a one person cat. He doesn't respond well to other people. I have depression and Ned really helps me manage this. No vet check yet. I am very happy to have Ned in my house. Bashful Adopted 1/16/18! Fostered by: Tori B. Bashful is doing really good! We left her name as Bashful because we just feel like it fits. She was very undersocialized when we got her, and has warmed up significantly. She now hangs out with us on the bed, and follows us downstairs. She is becoming much more comfortable with people, and hangs out with our calm company. She comes up to us on a regular basis. She is eating very well also. We had a great experience with Greenhill, and would totally adopt again! She has not been to her vet exam yet, but I have no health concerns. I will be taking her in when I get the chance. I know that there were concerns about Feline Leukemia, so I will be taking her in for a check up at Greenhill at the end of this month. She is super playful and energetic. As I know she likes to be in small compact places, I bought her an enclosed bed that looks like a fish that she loves! I haven't noticed any behavior or temperament issues. She got used to using her litter box very quickly. There are 2 kids at the house twice a week, and she just kind of stays away from them. She is still a little shy, but overall has been a great addition to the family! Molly Adopted 12/3/17! 7 days at Greenhill! She is doing great and has settled in without any problems. She is eating well and my son loves her. No vet check yet. Brutus Adopted 1/6/18! Brutus is doing great. Everything is okay, and we renamed him Jax. He is learning so much and getting big! We have not noticed any behavior or temperament issues at all. He listens very well. He has taken to my fiance even more than me, but we are glad he is so comfortable with us. He is real curious, and has typical puppy tendencies. We had a great experience with Greenhill, and would definitely adopt again. He has done very well around other dogs and people. He has been a great addition to our family! Fostered by: Ashely H. & Molly M.
Page 4 The Pawsitive Press Opal Adopted 12/15/17! Fostered by: Annette S. She is a beautiful girl. She did very well over the holidays and was a big hit with our family. She was shy at first when people came over, but she came out of hiding after a while and played with everyone. We think she has adjusted well to her surroundings, and I'm coming along in my duties as her waiter and butler. Jove Adopted 1/23/18! Fostered by: Lisa L. We changed his name to Joe or DJ Joe. Joe is adjusting incredibly well. He is a very confident boy. My other 2 cats have not fully accepted him yet but he is persistent with them, My 2 dogs love him and he loves them. We don't have any behavior issues or training issues. We had a wonderful experience at Greenhill. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Spot Adopted 12/5/17! Adopting Spot was the best decision my girlfriend and I have EVER made! Once we got him home it was game over. The first day in our house he completely dropped the persona that had gotten him those marks on his record and turned into the most loving and caring dog I've ever seen! He will come when I call no matter what and will break any concentration he has on anything else to listen to me. He's been such a good dog with everyone around us too. Everyone that meets him is amazed at how behaved and mellow he is. We redeemed our free vet appointment at VCA at Green Acres, and Spot has lost a lot of weight with our daily walks and a stable diet. His arthritis has gotten a lot better too. He seems to have no problem with other dogs and his leash aggression has improved. All in all he's been a miracle dog that's quickly attached himself to us and I've never seen a dog happier than Spot than when he gets to sit on the couch next to me after a walk. Please pass on to everyone at 1st Avenue who helped us, we are eternally grateful and Spot is having a very very good time in his new home! 39 days at First Avenue! Maika Adopted 1/12/18! She is adorable and is doing very well. We changed her name to Daisy Mae--no one could figure out how to pronounce Maika. She is a great dog, extremely smart, and has no aggression issues. She spends at least an hour or so in the dog park every day. She is a herding breed, and she does try to herd other dogs, but it's her nature. We don't give her food or treats around other dogs. She loves to cuddle and play. Her rope toy is her favorite. She hides bones all over the place and sleeps with us at night. She goes to the door to be let out and is learning to walk on a leash. We are ecstatic to have her in our home and look forward to many years of sweet Daisy Mae in our lives. 19 days at First Avenue!

Page 6 There are happy tails wagging here! Karen Landey - Volunteer The Pawsitive Press Ruby Adopted 12/11/17! She is settling in fine! She was very shy in the facility, so she hid under the bed for several weeks. But then I got her some toys and she loves the catnip, she eviscerated a mouse in twenty minutes! That is her tension management. We also got her a little bed. She loves that! She is very bossy and demanding but we are thoroughly enjoying her! We call her Ruby Cat. She is doing great at the vet, she is healthy and happy and we are all just training each other. We are very pleased to have this healthy cat. I would recommend the Greenhill to anyone! We have a gated fence yard and she hangs out with me out there. 27 days at Greenhill! Timmy Tail Adopted 1/19/18! Happy Zoey! By: Ronnie J. Timmy Tail is doing fantastic! I renamed him Baxter at first, but then we called him Stubbs, and that has seem to stuck. I have not taken him in for his vet exam yet, but I have no health concerns. He has so much energy, and is a very busy cat. He is around 2 Yorkies and a cat and does just fine with them. My experience with Greenhill was outstanding, and I would definitely do it again! We actually came up from Roseburg after another shelter in our area didn't work out. It was well worth the drive and are so happy that we did it. He has quite the personality and loves playing with our blinds and screen door for the time being! But he has been a very well-behaved cat otherwise. What a great addition to the family! He really likes my paper trash can in my office. Fostered by: Sally G. Snowball Adopted 1/15/18! Grayson F. Foster kitten Otto! By: Sally G. Snowball isn't called Snowball. We have nicknamed her Gargantuan as. she is growing really, really big. She is thriving, eating well. She and the cat get along and if the cat goes into her cage Snowball lets het know it's time to leave by chasing her out. They do get along so no problem there. We love her. 37 days at Greenhill!
