Any member may meet with the board or submit their ideas or questions in writing to the board to be discussed. If you would like to meet with the board, all you need to do is contact any board member to be put on the agenda. You will then be given a time to meet with the board prior to the start of the regular monthly meeting held on the third Tuesday of the month at the AAKA club building. If you prefer to submit something in writing to be discussed, you may give it to any board member or put it in the payment box at the top of the stairs. Again, the board welcomes any AAKA member to address the board with any ideas or questions.

Sept/October AAKA Club Building Use: Mark Criste, Building Manager, has requested that you call his phone (814-312-3466) to reserve the building or report a problem at the building. To better utilize the club building for all members, anyone who uses the building and decides not to come to the building during their reserved time slot (whether it be for classes or for training) must call Mark as soon as possible so that he can notify the membership that the building is available for rent or training. As in the past, club classes take precedence in building use. Instructors will post a class schedule on the bulletin board so others know when the building is available for use.. AAKA Class Schedule AAKA club classes, which are scheduled for 55 minutes, are ongoing; and costs $42 for members and $60 for non members for a six week session. Drop-ins are welcome at classes, but individuals need to contact the instructor prior to attending the class to check on room availability. If you sign up for a class and cannot attend, you need to let the instructor know. Also, if you decide to withdraw from a class, you need to inform the teachers so that others on the wait list can participate in the class. Class Schedule: Handling, Monday, 6:00 p.m. Anne Schettig, 886-2371. Agility, Saturdays Nancy Porta, 224-0295. Pre-Agility, Started November 10 th, Tuesdays, 6:00 Nancy Porta, 224-0295. Supplies Needed The club is always in need of paper towels, toilet tissue, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, Odor Ban, etc. Please add the club to your next shopping list. AAKA Bulletin Board: The bulletin board "facelift" transformation at the AAKA club building is still in progress. We need pictures of club members doing something with their dog(s) for the bulletin board. We are asking you to send a picture of yourself doing something with your dog(s) to Darlene for the bulletin board. Please DO NOT send 'show/trial' pictures or pictures of just your dog(s) or of just you. The pictures need to be of you doing something with your dog(s). If you have a 'little' write up, we will try to put it with the picture(s) or we may just identify you and your dog (s). Please email your pictures and information to Darlene at Dormsby2@atlanticbb.net. As you continue to send pictures throughout the year, we will try to rotate the pictures to keep the board changing. Please do not crop or size the pictures before emailing them to Darlene. Go through those pictures now, and start emailing them with a "little" write up to Darlene at Dormsby2@atlanticbb.net. 2 P a g e

Sept/October Breeder Referral: If you have not already done so, please contact Larry Wilson or Kathy Pike to have your name and contact information added to our Breeder Referral list. The AAKA gets quite a few inquiries from people looking for specific breeds. It s helpful to be able to direct them to an actual breeder or owner. If you ve already had your name added to the list, thank you for participating! 2016 All Breed Dog Show (May 2016): Sponsor or co-sponsor a Group or the Best in Show Prize for the new May Show! Are you interested in sponsoring (or Co-Sponsoring) a breed or group prize for the 2016 All Breed Show? We are in need of sponsors! Group prize and Best in show prize can be sponsored by multiple people. Please contact Amy at amy_sheehan@verizon.net or Anne at c1ddy@aol.com to sponsor (or Co-Sponsor) a group prize ($50) or Best in Show ($100). Christmas Party at Jethro s!: The annual AAKA Christmas party will be held at 6:30pm, Tuesday, December 15th at Jethro s in Altoona. Please RSVP by December 9th to Kathy Pike at kpike@atlanticbbn.net or 814-330-5652. More details to follow soon! President s Letter: Hi All, Hard to believe that after 30 some odd years our show will no longer be at Duman Lake. Our shows there have brought us some great memories and I, for one, am sorry to leave. But things change not something I am fond of- but in this case, change has been good for us. We have lost money the last two years and we couldn t keep sliding along and dying on the vine. So we are very fortunate to be asked to be part of the Memorial Day Cluster. So many people to thank and I know I ll miss someone so I d just like to thank those who went out of the norm. Chuck for bringing the trailer back and forth. Don Ormsby for driving a judge back to the airport and Amy for bringing a judge from the airport. The Friday set up people a really hot, crummy, and miserable job- Robin, Mary Jo, Linda Schaefer, Kathie C, Tom and Lisa. The good news is that we don t have to do that again! So I wanted to say that we needed each and every one to make this show work Lisa for bringing it all together. All the committee chairs, obedience, rally, food, stewards, raffle, book, baking, parking, and people. Great job! We have started on our 2016 show as it is in May stuff needs to be sent in already, Kathy Pike is preparing all the AKC & MBF forms. It is like a foreign language for Kathy but she is forging on. Not an easy job. Please keep Dar and her family in your prayers as well as our members, friends and family. Also prayers for our country and troops. Best, Anne 3 P a g e
