ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES In the following definitions of classes First Prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship, Premier, Open or Limited Shows (i.e. Limited Shows, special classes and invitational events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression. Standard classes may be scheduled for Shows, as classes or classes. All standard classes must contain the Weaving Poles obstacle. Standard classes must contain the following elements: A-Ramp, Dog Walk and See-Saw. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:- Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded Class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive Grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression. Progression from each Grade will require one win or three wins in standard classes at that grade, except that progression from Grade 5 will require 3 wins at Grade 5, one of which must be an agility class. Progression from Grade 6 will require 4 wins at Grade 6, two of which must be agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade. Lower Height Option. Societies may offer the Lower Height Option to all dogs in that height category and may be offered at all grades. It is to be run as part of any Standard class as defined in the regulations and must be clearly identified in the schedule. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to raise/lower the jump heights and competitors must run at their entered height. The order in which the heights will run must be detailed on the ring cards/ring plan. There will be only one course walking at the start of the class. In a class where the Lower Height Option is available show organisers may offer one set of awards by combining the results of each height or may offer separate awards for each height category. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course set at Small, Medium or Large height without their dog(s) before the class begins. Hurdles may be raised/lowered during the course walking time if multiple heights are offered within the same class. When the Lower Height Option is scheduled a dog may only be entered at either the Full Height or the Lower Height and it cannot compete at a different height in any other class at that competition, including special classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. Points Progression: At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to Grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Warrant points scheme, (Regulation K3.c refers), except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the show secretary signs the dog s Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however, once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. Standard Classes Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Shows may be used for progression through the classes (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for Grade 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 (Elementary) For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Class or 3 first places in Classes at Kennel Club licensed Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previous qualified out of Grade 1(Elementary) are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 (Starters) Open to dogs which are not eligible for grades 1,3,4,5,6,7, and have not gained a first place in an agility Class or 3 first places in Classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Cub licensed Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class Grade 3 (Graduate) Open to dogs which are not eligible for grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 (Novice) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Class or 3 first places in Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 (Intermediate) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Class or 3 first places in Classes at Grade 4 are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 (Senior) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed Shows, one of which must have been gained in an (not ) Class, and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 (Advanced) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum or 4 first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed Shows, 2 first places must be gained in (not ) Classes. Measuring of Dogs Competitors are reminded that all Small and Medium dogs must be measured in accordance with Regulation H(1)(B)4.

SPECIAL CLASSES Societies may schedule classes other than those defined above as Special classes. The eligibility for Special classes must be defined by the Society and included in the schedule. The word Special must be included in the title of the class. Where special classes are classified for older and/or inexperienced dogs, the height of the hurdles, the A-ramp and the dog walk, and the length of the long jump, may be reduced below the dimensions specified in these regulations, in which case such dimensions must be included in the class definition in the show schedule. Marking for special classes may deviate from marking for standard classes, but must be specified in the schedule. Wins, places and clear rounds in special classes will not count towards agility warrant points or grade progression at Kennel Club shows. Please note: Dogs May only compete at one height for the duration of the show, they cannot swap between FH and LH on different days. Dogs entering Anysize/Veteran may not enter any other classes at this show. Special Veteran & Anysize & Veteran & Anysize dogs will compete over the same course but will have separate awards. Dogs may enter Veteran OR Anysize but NOT both and may not enter any other classes at this show. Dogs entering both will be removed from either Veteran or Anysize at the show s discretion. The course will be flowing without weaves, tyre or long jump. Jump heights will be set at Micro, Small & Medium with handlers choosing the height they wish their dog to jump on the day. The dogwalk height will be set at 1.20 metres and the A Frame at 1.33 metres. Standard marking will apply. Wins, places and clear rounds in this class will not count towards agility warrant points or grade progression at Kennel Club shows. Special Veteran Conditions: Dogs must be 10 years or over on the day of the show. Special LMS Steeplechase The Lower height option is available in these classes A flowing course that will contain jumps and tunnels only. Separate awards will be given for each height category. Special LMS Junior and The Lower height option is available in these classes Junior handlers must be under 18 years old on the first day of the show. Special Large ABC The Lower height option is available in these classes Open to all dogs excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. In the event of a dispute over the parentage of a dog, a decision will be left to the judge s discretion. Standard marking will apply. Special Large BC The Lower height option is available in these classes. Open to Border Collies and their crosses. Standard marking will apply.

Phase Purple Qualifiers for Summer 2018 Phase Purple Team Event The Lower Height Option is available in this class. This event is a competition for teams of four dogs and handlers, run as a relay over a simple jumping course. It is designed as a flowing sprint class, accessible to all grades of handlers and all heights of dogs. Teams of four large, four medium or four small dogs run over the same course at their own height, under identical conditions. There are qualifying heats. The top three teams from each heat, regardless of height, qualify for a final at the Phase Purple Summer show. It is a requirement of this competition that the course contains few (if any) traps, and is of 'fast and flowing style'. A simple course such as a figure of eight, or a largely circular or helter-skelter style course is most appropriate. 1. The competition is classified under Kennel Club Regulations as Combined Grades 1 to 7 and Special, and will be held under KC Rules and Show Regulations H & H1 as in force at the date of the competition. Additional rules apply as described below. Competitors entering this competition are deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules. 2. All dogs entered in the team (including reserves) MUST be entered in the show in at least 1 normal height class (i.e. not veterans or Anysize). 3. All teams must consist of four dogs of the same height classification, handled by four separate handlers. All teams will compete over the same course at the appropriate height of the team of dogs competing. 4. Substitute dogs for teams are permitted, provided that (i) the dog(s) is/are already entered in the show, (ii) the dog(s) is/are not already entered in another team in this heat and (iii) alterations are made before the run and recorded on the scribe sheet. 5. Dogs may only compete in one team in any given heat. Should one dog be entered in more than one qualifying team across the heats then the first team to have qualified will go through to the final and any subsequent teams will not be eligible (this DOES NOT apply to handlers). 6. The course must contain two changeover lines, clearly marked with start/finish poles, each with a minimum gate width of 4m. Dogs 1 & 3 start behind line A and finish behind line B. Dogs 2 & 4 start behind line B and finish behind line A. (Handler 1 may use a recall start). The inward and outward courses can be different, but both dogs from behind the same line must run the same course. 7. The course each dog is required to negotiate shall contain no less than 14 and no more than 20 obstacles. 8. This is a relay event and two suitable batons must be provided. All baton changes must be completed with the handlers and dogs behind the appropriate changeover line. Failure to comply with this, or an incorrect baton change (i.e. throwing or dropping the baton at changeover) will incur a penalty of 50 points on each occasion. Stewards may be appointed by the judge to adjudicate changeovers if required. 9. For each dog an elimination on the course incurs a single penalty of 100 points, however the judge will continue to mark any further faults on the remainder of the course and the faults of any remaining dogs. 10. The team with the fastest time and the least faults, wins. The top three teams from each heat qualify for the final (unless the heat is split see rule 11). 11. If the entry for a heat exceeds the KC limit for a judge in a day, then the class will be equally and randomly split. The winning team from each part will be regarded as the two qualifying teams from that heat. 12. Only the members of an original qualifying team (as specified on the scribe sheet at the time of the run) or the two original named reserves, will be allowed to compete in the final. 13. In the event of a team being unavailable for the final, a reserve team will be called from the heat in which the qualifying team qualified. Individual trophies and rosettes will be provided for 1st and 2nd placed teams and individual rosettes will be provided for 3rd to 6th placed teams (in the event of a split heat, trophies will go to 1st and rosettes to 3rd for each part). Special Phase Purple Tunnel Exchange The Lower Height Option is available in this class. One dog with 2 handlers. Handlers will change over half way round the course at a tunnel.

SAM s LOW Steeplechase Cup Qualifier Rules 1. There will be two classes at each show holding a qualifier. One for dogs measured into small, and one for dogs measured into medium, with separate awards for each class. 2. This class is ONLY open to dogs measured into the small and medium height category (Kennel Club) who are entered in Lower Height option (LHO) at the show. It is not open to dogs who measure large, anysize/veteran dogs or dogs running at full height. This will be a combined class open to all grades. 3. The course will consist of jumps and tunnels, in a steeplechase style aimed at grades 1 to 7. 4. There will be no weaves, spread jump, wishing well or contact equipment in the course. A wall or long jump can be included in the course at the judge s discretion, but must be set at the correct height or the minimum spread, depending on what is appropriate. 5. The jumps will be 250mm for small dogs and 350mm for medium dogs. 6. Standard KC rules and marking apply. 7. Handlers may enter more than one dog, but individual dogs can only be entered once, with one handler. If a handler has more than one dog entered, the dogs must be run in their confirmed running order. 8. Rosettes will be placed to 6 th. The top 3 dogs in both the small and medium qualifier will go forwards to a final at WBSDS show in August 2018. In the event that a dog and handler have already qualified, qualification will be given to the next highest allocated place, and handlers in places 4 th to 6 th will hold a reserve space. 9. If the entry for a heat exceeds the KC limit for a judge in a day then the class will be equally and randomly split and another judge appointed for the second part. 10. All competitors entering the class will be deemed to have agreed to abide by the rules of the Kennel Club and the specific rules governing this class. 11.
