President s Message, Next Meeting 7:00 PM February 9, 2015 General Club Business Our Agility Trial ended up being a success but not without its complications. We had so fewer workers this year and it was especially bad on Saturday when at the end of the day at one point Ralph Orlando was the only person out moving the equipment and setting up the course for Sunday morning. Is this the way it s going to be or can we get it together so that we can continue having our Agility Trialls? More people need to be trained to be course builders for next year and they need to show up to help build those courses. The ones that have been doing it since the beginning our the trials are well up in their 70 s or older and we appreciate all that they ve done over the years but it s now time for some others to start stepping up and taking on the responsibility of taking over some of the key positions. I want to thank all the members that helped during the trial and showed up on Sunday afternoon to help tear down and put away the equipment, your help was Greatly Appreciated I realize there were people at trial in Ocala and events going on in Deland, but there are at least 200 members in Our Club and surely more can come help at our Events, not matter whether it s Obedience, Agility, Tracking or Dance, we are all members of the same Club In the future, we have Matches, Obedience & Rally Trials coming up, Please show your support for our club and come out and help. I want to that Jude Valloze for all the work she did on our Agility Trial, trying to get a Judge at the last minute becuase of one that canceled out just before the trial. Dealing with the rain and motor homes gettiong stuck and numerous other things. We are so fortunate to have her to take charge of our Agility Trials and to keep things running smoothly. OK, I didn t mean to get so carried away, but we all really do need to stop and think about why we joined Our Club. See you at the February Meeting, Joan Costello

Page 8 February 2015 Chatter-Barks Obedience Club of Daytona General Meeting Minutes January 12, 2015 The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm by Joan Costello Joan welcomed guests and new members. The minutes from the last meeting were in the newsletter. Report of the Secretary: New member applications were received from: Gail Waller, Barbara and George Light, P.J. Lacette, Linda Brendlinger, Suzie Schnalke Report of the Treasurer: Hoke Johnson was absent it was deemed to wait until February meeting to read the report. Agility Trial: Jude Valloze gave information to the general membership about the agility trial. The trial usually has two judges for all three days, the 2 nd judge this year had a death in the family so Jude found a replacement which will be doing overflow judging thankfully. Jude asked for helpers for key positions for the trial. Anyone who can help set up please come out to help. Joan will send out an email asking for help during the trial for anyone not at the meeting. The trial set-up will take place Thursday, January 22 nd at 8:30 am. Jude would like the club to work on overcoming the surface rumors, last year there were two complaints about the surface being to hard. Also the club was asked to help overcome the rumors of the RV sites not being as good as other clubs. Jude next addressed the issue of ribbons, years ago they went to only flat ribbons to save money she would like to discuss for next years trial their be a assortment of ribbons and see the cost of that. Also Ralph Orlando is going out to buy new drill batteries for the drills used to screw down the agility equipment. In the future Jude would like the club to look at a doing a second agility show. Committees: Pat Mozeden was invited again to the pet owners hot line in February, their will be camera crews in the building to use on the show. New Business: Please remember to not leave any cloth or fabric in your crates in the building to keep the flea problem down. Robin Scott is setting up eye exams again to be done in the building on April 11 th the fee this year will be $40 and they need to have at least 45 people sign up. Motion adjourned at 8:11 pm Respectfully submitted, Carrie Roberts-McCord
