SHOW REGULATIONS Exhibitors must obey (abide by) all regulations or requirements of the management of the facility owning the show site. Telegraph, Telephone and Unsigned Entries Cannot Be Accepted. Entries Not On Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies Of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or by facsimile prior to close of entries. Changes which are received on the telephone are unacceptable. Declination of Entries. The Sacramento English Springer Spaniel Club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other cause and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Sacramento English Springer Spaniel Club or any official thereof. All Entry Fees are to be made payable to the Sacramento English Springer Spaniel Club (SESSC) and are to be mailed with entries to Judy Wilson, Show Secretary, 209 Wainwright Ct., Sacramento, CA 95838-2941. FOREIGN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S. Funds. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE AC- CEPTED WITHOUT FEES. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practicable with any necessary tickets. Should such ACKNOWLEDGMENT not be received by the Exhibitor within a reasonable time, please notify the show secretary. We are no longer accepting FACSIMILE MACHINE ENTRIES for shows. On-line entries can be made at www.jwshows.com. If you are unable to make online entries, you can contact an entry service for last minute entries. Several companies are listed on our web site at www.jwshows.com. Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if an entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Returned Checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The show secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. The Show will be Open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM each day. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges are not required to wait for dogs. They will adhere as closely as possible to the Judging Schedule. The owner or handler of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when it is scheduled to be judged. The show-giving Club and the show secretary have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. The Show Giving Club, The Show Secretary, their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators or to any of their dogs or property, and further assumes no responsibility for injury to any child not under the control of their parents or guardians. No Dogs will be allowed in the Show Area except those regularly entered in the show. There will be NO SPACE for unentered dogs at this show. All trophies, including cash prizes, MUST be claimed the day of the show None will be mailed. PLEASE NOTE: No entry may be changed or canceled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing or by telegram by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hours for entries, except that a correction may be made in the sex of a dog, or a dog may be transferred from one division of the Puppy Class to another or between the Puppy and Twelve-to-Eighteen Month Class at a show prior to the judging, and except that dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for a show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. No dog may otherwise be transferred to another class. Owners are responsible for errors in the entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. Veteran Bitch (For Dogs/Bitches that are 7 years old and older) (Note: Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Dog Show Rules states that neutered dogs and spayed bitches may compete in the Veteran Classes only at independent specialties and/or those all-breed shows which do not offer any competition beyond Best of Breed) BEST OF BREED COMPETITION Award of Merit After awarding Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex, the Judge may select, at his/her discretion, up to 10% of the entries in the Best of Breed Competition as Awards of Merit NON-REGULAR CLASSES, INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class - For dogs that have sired at least two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not be the owner of the get. Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with his get. As the decision of the judge in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged First in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Brood Bitch Class - For bitches that have whelped at least two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the produce. The owner of the Brood Bitch need not be the owner of the produce. Brood Bitch must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and shown in the ring with her produce. As the decision of the judge in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged First in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. (Note: Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that a castrated male may be entered as Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. ) Junior Showmanship (each day) Please Note: ALL JUNIOR HANDLERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AN AKC JR. NUMBER. Contact AKC, Show Records (919) 854-0195 for a Junior Handler number. Be sure to include all information required on both the front and back of the Official AKC Entry Form. Novice Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. From the last traffic light (Lower Sacramento Road), it is 3.5 miles to Ray Road. Take a right on Ray Road and go almost 1 mile to the first curve. At the curve, take a left on to Sargent Road and follow the signs to Sycamore Lane Kennels and the site of the specialty. Any monies not claimed due to absentees will be retained by the club. -5- -12- Open Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. he winner of the Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the Open Class at the same show provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further providing there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the Open Class. Each dog handled in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the breed classes at this show or entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog that must be withdrawn for good and sufficient reason, such as a bitch in season, or a veterinarian s excuse, may be replaced by another dog meeting the below ownership requirements. Such substitution must be required in writing stating the reason for the substitution and must be accompanied by an Official AKC Form. All such requests must be made at least a half hour prior to the judging of any regular class at the show. Each dog must be owned by the Junior Handler or the Junior Handler s father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather, or grandmother, including the corresponding step and half relations. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Shows or Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. At a specialty Show, each dog must be of the breed for which the show is held. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a breed judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed or excused under the Dog Show Rules for the protection of the other dogs at the show or for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship.
