RULES AND GENERAL CONDITIONS 1. Members to pay 4 annually 2. All Ewes to have reared a lamb this season. 3. All sheep must be the bona fide property of the Exhibitor. Breed Champion going forward to the Overhead must be under supervision of the Exhibitor. 4. All articles in the Vegetable and Flower Classes to be grown by and the bona fide property of the Exhibitor. 5. All articles that have been previously exhibited in the Industrial Section are debarred. All exhibits to be staged by 10.15am prompt. 6. The Industrial marquee will close at 4.45pm. All exhibits unclaimed will become the property of the committee, unless the Secretary has received instructions from the Exhibitor. 7. Exhibitors, on staging their exhibits, will, on applying to the Attending Member, receive a ticket, which must be produced before they can be readmitted to the marquee to remove their exhibits at the close of the show. Any person failing to produce a ticket must apply to the Secretary before they can remove their exhibits. 8. In the vegetable and industrial sections, the catalogue number of the exhibits is placed on the table in duplicate. One number must be attached to the exhibit beside the corresponding number. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to see that their exhibits are correctly staged and the correct duplicate number affixed to their exhibit. 9. The decision of the committee shall be final in questions respecting premiums, and all other matters connected with the show. 10. All sheep must be the property of a bona fide Hired Shepherd except Hirsel classes where farmers who shepherd their own stock and do not employ a shepherd may compete. 11. Dogs and children s classes may only be entered on the day. 12. Exhibitors must pay admission on Show Day 13. Crooks and walking sticks must be the work of the exhibitor. Novice stick dressers must not have shown for more than three years. 14. Could all trophies won in 2013, please be returned to the Secretary or handed into W J Blair in Kelso by 1 st September 2014.

LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE Ingredients for mixture 200g unsalted butter very soft 250g caster sugar 3 medium eggs Finely grated zest of 2 medium unwaxed lemons 250g self-raising flour ½ teaspoon baking powder 100ml milk room temperature Ingredients for topping 100g castor sugar Juice of 2 medium unwaxed lemons Grated zest of 1 Lemon 20 cm spring clip tin or deep round cake tin, grease and line with greaseproof paper Preheat oven 180 C/ 350 F/Gas 4 Put soft butter, sugar, eggs and lemon zest into a large mixing bowl, sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and pour in the milk. Beat all ingredients together, till mixed and smooth Put mixture into prepared tin. Bake in pre heated oven, till golden brown and firm approx. 50mins. Meanwhile make the topping. Mix sugar with lemon zest and lemon juice, to make a runny glaze. As soon as cake is cooked, remove from the oven and stand it on a wire cooling rack, prick the top of the cake all over with a cocktail stick, then quickly spoon lemon topping over it and it trickles down into the holes. Leave to cool, then remove from the tin.
