NOTE: By entering this show all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree to make themselves available for interview if requested. Exhibitors may video tape or photograph individual runs only for personal use. Only the Official Photographer may take ring photos to sell for these events. Any other photographers taking multi-dog ring photographs will be subject to an Event Committee Hearing for failure to comply with the event regulations published in the official premium list. Win pictures will take place at the Official Photo set up immediately after the Awards Ceremony. All winders are ASKED TO STAY FOR THEIR OFFICIAL WIN photos!! Award photos will follow the completion of the event on Sunday. Award recipients are requested to wait for photographs. A group photo will be taken for the top four placements in each class and a group photo of the First Place winners in the four classes immediately following the Award Ceremony. EMERGENCY SERVICES Fire/Ambulance/Police Dial ~ 911 VETERINARY SERVICES Veterinary Information will be provided at a later date. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. A copy of a dog s vaccination record, including a current rabies certificate, must be present for all dogs at the event. OBEDIENCE CLASSIC DESCRIPTION The AKC Obedience Classic is a two-day competition. Four class levels will be offered: Novice, Open, Utility and Masters. In the Novice, Open and Utility Classes the handler/dog team will compete a total of three times. In the Masters Class the handler/dog team will compete a total of six times, three in Open and three in Utility. The Open B and Utility B mixed orders will be used in all of the Open, Utility and Master classes. 4

OBEDIENCE CLASSIC DOG ELIGIBILITY All dogs meeting the following requirements are eligible to enter the event, which will be held in conjunction with the 2018 AKC National Championship and the 2018 AKC Agility Invitational. In addition, FCI membership countries will also be invited to send teams of up to three dogs to this event. Qualifying Period July 1, 2017 June 30, 2018 Dogs entered in the 2018 AKC Obedience Classic may continue to compete, beyond the qualifying period, in any class the dog/handler is eligible. Additional qualifying scores, and/or title earned beyond the qualifying date for this event, do not affect the eligibility for the class entered at this event. All references to titles indicate AKC Regular Class titles. I. Novice Class Eligibility a. Must have earned a CD title (at any time). b. A dog must earn three (3) qualifying scores in the Novice class (A and/or B), during the qualifying period. i. The qualifying scores earned to achieve the CD title may be used for the three (3) Q s required if they were earned during the qualifying period. ii. Or one (1) High Scoring Dog in Regular Classes (HSDRC) may be substituted for the three (3) Q s required, if the HSDRC award was earned during the qualifying period and from the relevant class. II. III. IV. Open Class Eligibility a. Must have earned a CDX title (at any time). b. A dog must earn three (3) qualifying scores from the Open class (A and/or B), during the qualifying period. i. The qualifying scores earned to achieve the CDX title may be used for the three (3) Q s required if they were earned during the qualifying period. ii. Or one (1) High Scoring Dog in Regular Classes (HSDRC) may be substituted for the three (3) Q s required, if the HSDRC award was earned during the qualifying period and from the relevant class. Utility Class Eligibility a. Must have earned a minimum of the UD title (at any time). b. A dog must earn three (3) qualifying scores from the Utility class (A and/or B), during the qualifying period. i. The qualifying scores earned to achieve the UD title may be used for the three (3) Q s required if they were earned during the qualifying period. ii. Or one (1) High Scoring Dog in Regular Classes (HSDRC) award may be substituted for the three (3) Q s required, if the HSDRC award was earned during the qualifying period and from the relevant class. c. OTCH titled dogs may not enter this class. Masters Class Eligibility Open and Utility a. Must have earned a minimum of the UD title (at any time). i. The qualifying scores earned to achieve the CDX and/or the UD title may be part of the scores required if they were earned during the qualifying period. b. A dog must earn six (6) qualifying scores of 193 or better in Open B during the qualifying period; and c. A dog must earn six (6) qualifying scores of 193 or better in Utility B during the qualifying period. d. OTCH titled dogs may enter this class. A dog may only be entered in one class, Novice, Open, Utility or Masters and must be entered in the highest level class for which they have qualified. Novice, Open, Utility Classes Masters Class ENTRY FEES PER DOG 6 $125.00/per dog $150.00/per dog No dog may be entered in more than one class and must be entered at the highest level they are eligible to compete. OFFICIAL AKC OBEDIENCE CLASSIC ENTRY FORM & INFORMATION Entry forms will be may be downloaded from the event webpage at the following link: http://www.akc.org/events/obedience/classic/. Opening Date for entries is Wednesday, August 1, 2018 Closing Date/Time for entries is Tuesday, September 4, 2018 @ 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and will not be accepted until the date listed above. All entries will have the entry fee deposited upon receipt. Entries not on the Official AKC Obedience Classic Entry Form or photocopies of the entry forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. No entry shall be made or accepted, which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. In order to submit your entry: It must be delivered by USPS, or a multi-state or multi-national postal or carrier service including but not limited to USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. No entries will be accepted by fax, email, hand delivery or phone. Dog s Call Name: Please be sure to include your dog s call name on the entry forms. This will be used for award presentations. Errors on Entry Forms: Owners are responsible for errors on entry forms and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the trial has closed. Illegible entries: Will not be processed and will be returned to the exhibitor. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. A twenty-five ($25.00) dollar collection fee will be added to the amount of each returned check. Limited Entries: Entries in each class will be limited as follows: 72 Novice, 64 Open, 56 Utility and 56 Masters. Email notifications will be sent to advise you of the status of your entry. If a class fills prior to the close of entries, a wait-list will be kept for that class. Entries received after the limit has been reached, will be wait-listed in the order received. Confirmation of Entry: You will receive a confirmation email stating your entry has been received. If you do not receive an email confirmation within two weeks of sending in an entry, please contact us at OBClassic@akc.org.

OFFICIAL AKC OBEDIENCE CLASSIC ENTRY FORM & INFORMATION CONT D Cancellation of Entry: The closing date to cancel an entry is Tuesday, September 4, 2018 @4:00 p.m. ET. You may cancel your entry via an email sent to OBClassic@akc.org or by fax at (919) 816-4204 and refunds for cancellations will be made within 45 days after the closing date. Requests to cancel an entry, in classes that have a wait-list, will be allowed up until Tuesday, September 25, 2018 @4:00 p.m. ET. Wait-listed classes will be published HERE. Wait-Listed Entries: A wait-list will be kept to fill openings created by entries withdrawn prior to September 25, 2018 @ 4:00 p.m. ET. If a class has a wait-list, a full refund will be issued to any entrant whose entry is replaced by a wait-listed entry. If an entry is cancelled, the first entry held on the wait-list in that class will automatically be entered into the event and will be notified their entry was accepted. If you do not wish to be automatically entered when there is an opening, you must cancel your wait-listed entry no later than the closing date of September 4, 2018 @ 4:00 p.m. ET. Any entries remaining waitlisted after September 25 th will be notified the final status of their entry the week of October 8 th, 2018 and refunds for those wait-listed entries will be made within 45 days thereafter. Changes to Entries: Changes, additions or corrections to entries must be received in writing prior to the closing date. Updates are to be sent to OBClassic@akc.org. Bitches in Season: Are not permitted to compete in Obedience Events. Refunds will be processed if the Trial Secretary is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of judging. Veterinarian statements must be provided to the Trial Secretary in writing. They may be hand delivered at the event, emailed to OBClassic@akc.org or faxed to (919) 816-4204. Entry Fees: Entry fees are required with each entry. NO ENTRY FEE will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a judge or veterinarian, or barred from competition by the action of the Event Committee. There will be no refund for duplicate entries. All exhibitors should obtain a copy of the Obedience Regulations by downloading them from the American Kennel Club website at http://www.akc.org/rules/. This event will be judged according to the Obedience Regulations. A full service food concession is available on site. ADDITIONAL SITE INFORMATION The American Kennel Club and the Orange County Convention Center will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items left at the show site. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s) at the show site and hotels. Any exhibitor failing to do so may be asked to leave the show grounds without benefit of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Cleaning supplies and disposal sites will be available at various locations around the show grounds. OTHER EVENT ACTIVITIES AKC recognized breeds may be represented at the AKC Meet the Breeds display to help you choose the breed that s right for you. Vendor Booths packed with everything for dogs and their owners. Vendor Attendance vendor invitations for the AKC National Championship show are emailed in early July. Two days of action packed competition as the AKC Obedience Classic, AKC Juniors Classic, AKC Agility Invitational and AKC Junior Agility Competition are held in conjunction with the AKC National Championship to find the nation s top dogs in the world. OBEDIENCE CLASSIC AWARDS, PRIZES & RIBBONS A Top Dog Medallion by Breed will be presented if an AKC Parent Club has chosen to sponsor this award. The AKC will sponsor a medallion for All American Dogs. The Top Dog award will be presented at the conclusion of the event to a dog for each sponsored breed. We will calculate a score for all dogs from two rings using the least points off. An awards medallion with a neck ribbon will be presented during the awards ceremony. FCI International Dogs are not eligible for the AKC Parent Club Medallions, unless they compete in AKC events during the qualifying period and meet the dog eligibility requirements, see page 4 & 5. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE SECTION CAREFULLY EXHIBITOR CHECK-IN: Check-in will be held at the Orange County Convention Center, more details to follow. Exhibitors will be allowed to check-in and then set-up at that time. If you cannot checkin until Saturday morning you must do so 30 minutes prior to the start of judging. You will receive your armband, event catalog and an event souvenir bag at check-in. Once the location for check-in is determined all exhibitors will be notified by email. In the event you are not able to check-in and receive your admission tickets prior to Saturday morning, please notify Lisa Liggins at OBClassic@akc.org or 919-816-3816. Exhibitors MUST check-in at EACH ring, EACH day. CRATING: Each dog entered in the event will be allotted one 3 x5 space. Un-entered dogs will only be allowed in the facility if they can share the crate with an entered dog, or if their crate can be stacked on top of an entered dog s crate within the 3 x5 space allotted. Soft sided crates are only permitted in the obedience and agility areas. A crate is defined as having a top, bottom and four walls, all interconnecting, thus preventing the dog from escaping. Each exhibitor will be required to display an information card on the outside of each crate; card(s) will be supplied at check-in. The information card must have your name and on site emergency contact information. NO EX-PENS will be allowed in the facility. No dogs are permitted to be crated or groomed on any carpeted area. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH: Dogs must be on leash, held by the handler at all times while on the trial grounds except when in the designated warm-up area or competing in the ring. Dogs may NOT be on retractable leads or long-lines while inside the building. Failure to maintain control of a dog may result in an Event Committee hearing. SPECIAL TRAINING COLLARS ARE PROHIBITED. WARM-UP RING: A warm-up ring will be provided for dogs entered in the AKC Obedience Classic and the AKC Junior Classic in accordance with the Obedience Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 33. This ring will be monitored and if there are any problems, the ring will be closed. Warm-ups should be limited to warming up. Please allow others to go before you if they have a close ring time. Exhibitors will be respectful of each other and the ring monitor. CATALOGS: All exhibitors will receive a complimentary copy of the commemorative catalog in their check-in packet. A limited supply of catalogs will be available for purchase at the event. SAFETY, BEHAVIOR and LIABILITY: The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of the AKC. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such cases, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The American Kennel Club and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. The American Kennel Club reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the American Kennel Club or any official thereof. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. A copy of a dog s vaccination record, including a current rabies certificate, must be present for all dogs at the event. This club agrees to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC Obedience Classic Entry Form for this event. 10

This year's exhibitor's catalog will be 8.5 X 5.5 inches, allowing a full-page ad area approximately 4.5 X 7.5 inches to post your message and/or picture. Camera ready ads are accepted in high-resolution press quality PDFs (preferred). JPEG or TIFF files are also acceptable (minimum 300 pixels/inch). If you are sending photos separately, the photos should be scanned to a finished size and at a minimum of 300 pixels/inch. Do not forget to include the correct orientation. Full page ads MUST be in a portrait orientation, and half page ads MUST be in a landscape orientation. If mailing, please send only high quality photos for scanning purposes.
