GENERAL RULES FOR EXHIBITORS 1. All sanctioned classes are open to Jack Russell Terriers only. 2. Exhibitors and owners of terriers entered must be current JRTCA members and must not be a member of a conflicting JRT organization or register their JRTs in any all-breed registry or conflicting JRT organization. If an exhibitor is found to be in violation of this policy, entry will be disqualified and no refunds will be given. If a violation is confirmed after the trial, placements will be voided from all JRTCA records. Exhibitors must submit a completed entry form including a signed waiver for every trial they enter. 3. Entries MUST be within the 10-15 JRTCA height standard for all sanctioned classes (with the exception of pups who have not yet met the 10" height standard); measuring devices will be available on the trial grounds. 4. Puppies (under 12 months) are not eligible for championship in any division but their own. Puppies are eligible to compete only if they have reached their four-month birthday (not 16 weeks). A puppy's age is the actual age the pup is on the day of the trial. 5. Bitches in season may not compete in any division. Pre-entry fees of bitches in season will be refunded with a veterinarian certificate, or as otherwise agreed upon by the Trial Chairperson. 6. Spayed or neutered terriers may compete in Miscellaneous Conformation. They may not compete in Puppy, Family*, Open or Working Conformation. *Note: For Family Classes, Brood Bitches and Stud Dogs entered may not be spayed/neutered. The offspring at their sides may be intact or spayed/neutered. 7. A terrier bred by a sanctioned JRTCA Judge may not be shown under that Judge in the conformation division. 8. Terriers owned or co-owned by the Trial Chairperson, or any member of their household, may not be entered in any phase of the competition, with the exception of Child and Youth Handling. 9. Terriers owned by judges may not be entered in the division in which they are judging, but may enter the competition in any other division. 10. Terriers owned by stewards may be entered in any division provided that they find a substitute to perform their duties or have someone else show their terriers. 11. Requests for the measurement of a terrier being shown in any class may be made only by another exhibitor in that class or by the Judge. These measurements will be considered the official height of the terrier in question. Requests made by spectators will not be honored. Only JRTCA height cards issued after 9/1/99 will be honored. 12. Excessive use of squeaky or fur-like baiting devices by exhibitors is prohibited in the Conformation ring and may result in the exhibitor being excused from the class. "Excessive use" will be at Judge's discretion. 13. Exhibitors participating in the JRTCA Working Terrier classes or Certificate Go-To-Ground must submit the appropriate JRTCA certificates with pre-entries or at the time of post-entry. The Judge may require a copy of the certificate be presented to the Ring/Den steward at time of judging. Registered terriers may submit a copy of NHC application signed by a JRTCA Working Judge within 30 days of the date it was issued. 14. Puppies under the age of three months are not permitted on the trial grounds. Any person violating this rule will be excused from all classes entered, and asked to leave the trial site. 15. All dogs must be leashed or crated except when competition requires off-leash work. No liberty leashes allowed. 16. Overly aggressive dogs, or an owner's failure to control their dog, may result in disqualification at the discretion of the Judges or the Trial Chairperson. 17. The abuse or severe disciplining of dogs on the trial grounds is prohibited. Anyone displaying such behavior will be asked to leave the trial site, and no entry fees will be refunded. 18. Dogs other than JRTs on the grounds may be excluded or permitted at the discretion of the Trial Chairperson. 19. Exhibitors are responsible to double check the classes they have entered and be on time. No refunds will be given for missed classes. 20. The owner/handler of a terrier entering any class does so at his/her own risk and agrees to abide by the rules of the JRTCA and the trial. A copy of the JRTCA Rule Book can be obtained by contacting the JRTCA office (410-561-3655) or it can be downloaded from the JRTCA website (www.terrier.com). 21. Unsportsmanlike conduct, or the use of foul and abusive language, will not be tolerated. Anyone demonstrating such conduct will be asked to leave the trial site and no entry fees will be refunded. In addition, such conduct will be subject to penalties which may include the suspension of membership, restriction from entering the JRTCA National Trial, and/or fines. Trial Chairpersons have the right to refuse any entry at their sole and absolute discretion. 22. All dogs brought to JRTCA sanctioned trials must be current on vaccinations. No dogs of any age may be brought to a trial who have suspicion of contagious or infectious disease. 23. THE JUDGE'S DECISION IS FINAL IN ALL DIVISIONS. 4

Division A: Conformation Cross entering is not permitted within or between the Open and Working Sections Exhibitors participating in the Working Classes must submit the appropriate JRTCA paperwork with entries. The judge may require a copy of The National Hunting Certificate to be presented to the ring steward at the time of judging. Registered terriers may submit a copy of the NHC Application, signed by a JRTCA Working Judge, within 30 days of the date it was issued. Spayed or neutered terriers may only compete in Miscellaneous Conformation classes. Section 1: Miscellaneous Open to Adult Spayed or Neutered Terriers. Judged on breed standard unless otherwise noted. Class 01 - Spayed/Neutered Working Terrier - Open to any JRTCA registered terrier owned by a JRTCA member, which holds a JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificate. Class 02 - Man s Best Friend - Open to any Jack Russell Terrier. Judged on companionship, cuteness, personality, obedience and tricks. Not to be judged on breed standard. Non-sanctioned. Class 03 - Neutered Dog & Spayed Bitch Class 04 - Best Veteran Dog &Bitch - Open to any JRT six years and plus. Judged on the breed standard and condition of the terrier. Class 05 - Senior Dog & Bitch - Open to any JRT 9 years or older. Judged on the breed standard and condition of the terrier. Non-Sanctioned. Class 06 - Florida Bred - Open to any JRT bred in the State of Florida. Suitability/Judges Choice Open to adult spayed & neutered terriers. The judge will place the dog he/she would choose to take hunting to each of the quarry below. Class 07 - Suitability to Red Fox Class 08 - Suitability to Groundhog Class 09 - Suitability to Raccoon/Badger Class 10 - Tool Box Class - Open to handler with three adult Jack Russell Terriers at side; one suitable to each quarry (Fox, Groundhog, Raccoon/Badger). Placement based on the group the judge would choose to take hunting. Section 2: 4 up to 6 Month Puppy Conformation Class 11 - Dog Pups - 4 up to 6 months, Smooth Class 12 - Dog Pups - 4 up to 6 months, Rough, Broken Class 13- Bitch Pups - 4 up to 6 months, Smooth Class 14- Bitch Pups - 4 up to 6 months Rough, Broken Class 15 - Best 4 up to 6 Month Puppy & Reserve - No Entry Fee. Open to 1 st and 2 nd place winners of class 11 thru 14. Section 3: 6 up to 12 Month Puppy Conformation Class 16 - Dog Pups - 6 up to 9 months, Smooth Class 17 - Dog Pups - 6 up to 9 months, Rough, Broken Class 18 - Dog Pups - 9 up to 12 months, Smooth Class 19 - Dog Pups - 9 up to 12 months, Rough, Broken Class 20 - Best Dog Puppy & Reserve - No Entry Fee. Open to 1 st and 2 nd placed winners of class 16 thru 19. Class 21 - Bitch Pups - 6 up to 9 months, Smooth Class 22 - Bitch Pups - 6 up to 9 months, Rough, Broken Class 23 - Bitch Pups - 9 up to 12 months, Smooth Class 24 - Bitch Pups - 9 up to 12 months, Rough, Broken Class 25 - Best Bitch Puppy & Reserve - No Entry Fee. Open to 1 st and 2 nd placed winners of class 21 thru 24. Class 26 - Puppy Conformation Champion & Reserve - No Entry Fee. Open to the best Dog Puppy and Reserve and the Best Bitch Puppy & Reserve. Section 4: Breeders Class 27 - Family Class - Open to dam or sire with at least two, but no more than three offspring at parent s side. Judged on Breed Standard and consistency of type. Stud Dog & Brood Bitch must be intact. Offspring may be in intact or Spayed/neutered. 5

Conformation Continued.. Section 5: JRTCA Working Terrier Conformation Open to any JRTCA registered terrier owned by a JRTCA member, which holds a JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificate. Terriers entering the Working Section may not cross enter the Open Section; no cross entering within the Working Section. (Classes may be combined by size and coat if entries warrant.) Division D: AGILITY All Terriers must be one year of age to compete in JRTCA Agility. Flat buckle collars only, no dangling objects, six-foot leads only, in On-Lead Classes. No collars in Off-Lead classes. Table not used. No cross-entering between Novice On-Lead to Agility I. Agility I may not enter Agility II or Agility III. No cross entering between from Agility II or Agility III into Agility I. Any scores that are NON-QUALIFYING may be used for ribbon placement and Champion/Reserve. Any score that is eliminated will not be eligible for placement or Champion/Reserve. Agility practice runs will be available for $2.00 per run, payable at the Agility ring. Class 124 - Novice On-Lead, Non-Certificate - Open to terriers that have not scored above 190 points. This class is for the true beginner terrier with the intent of a pleasant experience on the basic agility equipment. Handlers that drag their terriers around will be seriously faulted. Course to include ramps, tunnels, and various hurdles. Although this class is for the beginner terrier, you need to have prior exposure to agility equipment. May not cross-enter in off-lead classes. Class 125 - Agility I Certificate - Open to any adult terrier. The Agility I Certificates are earned with three scores of 190 or above. Three qualifying scores may move entrant of this class on to Agility II, Agility III, and Jumpers/Game. No cross entering to this class from Agility II and Agility III. No seesaw or tire jump in this class. Class 126 - Agility II Certificate - More difficult course to include all of the Agility 1 equipment plus two more hurdles, weave poles, and seesaw. Qualifying score of 190 or better earns one leg towards JRTCA Agility II Certificate. Class 127 - Agility III Certificate - Course to include all Agility I and II equipment. Weave poles are increased to 12 and must end in a gamble. Qualifying score will be 200 points. Gamble to be set at 8 to 10 feet. Class 128 Jumpers/Game Class Off or On Lead - Consists of 12-17 jumps and/or tunnels with at least one lead change. Scoring is time plus faults, with lowest score getting 1 st regardless of number of faults. Five faults for running course on-lead. Five faults for a knocked bar, and off-course. Fifteen faults for missed obstacle. Qualifying score of 200 earns one leg toward a JRTCA Jumpers/Game Certificate. Qualifying score sheets from Jumpers and Game may be mixed to apply for Jumpers/Game Certificate. Game must be a qualifying score with no faults. Judge may select a game from any agility venue. Scores from this class go toward the Championship and Reserve along with Agility II and Agility III. Class 129 - Agility High Score Champion & Reserve No Entry Fee. To be awarded to the highest scoring terrier and runner-up combining scores of classes Agility II & Agility III and qualifying no fault score in Jumpers/Game. Ties to be broken by fastest time. 9

THUNDER TUNNEL Similar to the EARTH DOG COMPETITION as seen on cable TV s Animal Planet, this is a timed event/competition with the terrier working their way through an above the ground tunnel.the tunnel has a clear front that allows you to see how your dog maneuvers the tunnel. The terrier runs the course twice; the better of two times is the final time posted. Sunday s Child & Youth Division Entry Form Sunshine State Jack Russell Terrier Club Membership The Sunshine State Jack Russell Terrier Club (SSJRTC) is currently the only JRTCA affiliated club located in Florida. The primary mission of the SSJRTC is to educate people about Jack Russell Terriers, to be a group that has fun with our terriers, and to preserve and work our terriers. Also, to protect, maintain and promote (for educational purposes) the acceptable breed standard of the Jack Russell Terrier. SSJRTC membership includes the Terrier Times, SSJRTC s E-newsletter; discount entry fees at non & sanctioned SSJRTC events, SSJRTC voting privileges, and free practice/training sessions of performance trial events. A typical SSJRTC Free practice day. All Exhibitors must be current JRTCA members Child Handlers, 5-9 years of age. Youth Handlers,10-16 years of age. A child/youth exhibitor s age is determined as of January 1 st of the current calendar year except for those children turning five years of age. They may start competing in Child Handler any time of the year following their 5 th birthday. The Child handlers must handle a six month or older Jack Russell Terrier. The Youth handlers must handle the same adult terrier in all Youth Division classes entered. No Puppies please. Please list class number, youth s name, birthday, and dog s name. Entry Fee: $5.00 Per Class No increase of fees for post-entries in Youth Division.
