Introducing our International Judges from the United States of America for the 2015 FASA Annual 2 day and 6 ring show Larry Adkison CFA USA I have always been an animal lover since childhood and cats always very high on my list. I got my first pure breed Siamese when I was a high school student and exhibited in the first cat show I had ever attended. College prevented me from doing a lot of breeding and showing although I tried to do both on a limited scale. I purchased a seal-point Siamese female from one of CFA s leading breeders at the time the summer after I graduated and she produced my first 2 Grand Champions both of which were regional winners. I exhibited Siamese exclusively prior to entering the judging program but have since breed and / or shown Colourpoint Shorthairs, Oriental Shorthairs, American Shorthairs, Scottish Fold, Manx, Persians and Maine Coons producing Grand Champions in both the Oriental Shorthair and Maine Coon breeds. I was accepted into the CFA judging program in 1979 and judged my first show in 1980. I have judged in all of CFA s domestic regions as well as Europe, Asia and South America for CFA, FIFE and several European independent organisations. Tracy Petty CFA USA I started showing cats in 1985. My husband, Dan and I breed Cornish Rex and Persians for about 20 years. I have been judging cats for about 13 years and I think it is the best job in the world! Australia will be the forth continent on which I ve judged. I am currently on the CFA board of directors as the regional director for the southern region (Region 7) and also the show manager for the 2013 national capital cat show. During the week I prepare court transcripts. Dan and I live in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington DC, with several geriatric cats and one forever young dog.
Queensland Introducing our Australian Judges (All have judged internationally) for the 2015 FASA Annual 2 day and 6 ring show Barbara LaRocca QFA Barbara was introduced to and instantly fell in love with the Burmese breed in 1984 and began breeding under her Riokay prefix. In 1988 she decided to breed Abyssinians as well. She also imported Somalis and breed Burmillas, Tonkinese and Maine Coons. Barbara breed Supreme Exhibit winners in both Burmese and Abyssinians and has had numerous Best Kitten and Cats of the Year with QFA. She has twice proudly achieved Group 3 Prefix of the Year with QFA. Barbara began training with QFA as a Shorthair judge in 1988. After judging for a couple of years she started training in Longhairs and in 1998 became an judge with QFA. She has judged and continues to do so throughout Australia and New Zealand and has also judged in Kuala Lumpur. Barbara is current President of QFA inc, a position she has held since 2002. She is also currently President of Burmese Cat Society of Qld and previously held the position of Vice President of QFA and other executive positions in Club 23, Burmese Cat Society of Qld and Gold Coast Cat Club. Her continued interest in the welfare and breeding of healthy, good natured cats is still a priority for her through her judging and still an immense pleasure which she hopes to continue for some years to come. For 6 years Barbara has been involved with the Qld Companion Animal Management Group instigated by the Animal Welfare League with the goal of working towards zero euthanasia of unwanted animals. Janis Christison QFA I have always been fascinated with cats and can clearly remember my first cat Josie, a grey tabby which was my constant companion as a small child. I entered the cat fancy in Canberra in 1976 showing my first Persian neuter. My Prefix Santique was granted the same year in Canberra and I breed blue, cream and blue cream Persians until moving home to Queensland in 1989. In 1991 I began an Exotic program from first generation, breeding in most colours and patterns but always on a small scale. Many major awards were achieved over the years including Group 1 Cat of the Year awards in 1987, 1990 & 1998, each time with a blue Persian. I gained my Group 1 judges licence in 1991, Group 2 in 2000 and Group 3 in 2001, all with QFA inc. And have judged in all Australian states and territories and regularly for many clubs in New Zealand. In 2011 I was privileged to judge in Germany and The Netherlands in 2012 in Kuala Lumpur. During 2013 I judged in Sweden and 3 shows in South Africa. I have been a Vice President of QFA inc. Since 2005, served as President of QFA inc. Judges association from 2004 to 2010 and am currently Vice President, have been a tutor judge since 1999 and was Executive Member of the ACF Judges Guild from 2008 to 2011. I am President and a foundation member (1999) of Flash Felines. I am also a Life Member of the ACT Longhair Cats Club which I served for many years as Vice President and Secretary. I am currently not breeding but allowing our very senior cats to live out their lives in peace and in familiar surroundings. We have recently been adopted by a stunning little neutered Exotic kitten who has brought such energy and fun to our household. Apart from these very special felines my other passions are judging, tutoring and running great shows. A highlight was coordinating the 2008 ACF National Show hosted by QFA inc. I also enjoyed coordinating QFA s annual Judges Workshop for many years while in the position of President of the Judges Association. 1998, 2000, 2004 New Zealand 2011 Germany, Netherlands 2012 Malaysia.
