The Newfoundland Club Draught Tests Rules and Regulations All owners of entrants are encouraged to study the requirements of the tests for which they are entered. Full test rules and regulations including permitted actions will be available on the day; alternatively copies can be downloaded from the Newfoundland Club website at: http://www.thenewfoundlandclub.co.uk Newfoundland Water Test Regulations April 2016 Regulations 1. The minimum ages for entry (on day of test) are: Section A 6 months Section B 9 months Section C 18 months Section D&E 24 months 2. Entry fees per dog for each level: All levels: Members 7.00 for the first test plus 3.50 for each subsequent test entered at the event. Non members 9.50 for the first test plus 5.00 for each subsequent test entered at the event. N.B. The test entry fee does not include entry fee to the venue, which will be charged extra if applicable. 3. No dog may be entered for a test unless it has successfully completed all the preceding tests, at previous events organised by either the Newfoundland Club, The Northern Newfoundland Club or The Southern Newfoundland Club 4. Newfoundland Club insurance demands that people entering the water have to wear a wet/dry suit and MUST wear a buoyancy aid/life-jacket. People in boats MUST wear a buoyancy aid; unless they are going into the water, when they MUST comply with the above. 5. Tests will commence at 10.00am and will continue throughout the day unless specified otherwise on the programme of events, which will be available on the day. 6. All entrants must attend the Judges briefing at the appointed time. Entrants who miss the briefing will only be admitted under special circumstances and at the discretion of the Test Manager. 7. Owners must be responsible for the control of their dogs at all times. Exercising of dogs within the defined test area is prohibited. Any dog within 25 yards of the test area must be kept on a lead. 8. Smoking is not permitted in the test area. 9. Excepting for a dog under test, no dog may enter the water except at a designated warm up area, at any time during the tests. Any entrant in breach of this regulation will be liable to disqualification. 10. The Working Committee reserves the right to refuse any entries. 11. Every entry form must be completed and accompanied by the correct fees or it will not be accepted. Entry fees will not be refunded except by permission of the Working Committee. 12. Should any judge be prevented from fulfilling his/her engagement Working Committee reserve the right to appoint another judge his/her place. Entrants may withdraw from the tests, but no fees will be refunded. 13. Passes for entrants will not be sent out. Any person requiring acknowledgement of entry must enclose an SAE with their entry form. 14. A dog will be disqualified and removed from the event if it is: a. A bitch which is in season. b. Suffering from an infectious or contagious disease. c. Interfering with the safety or chance of success of any other entrant. d. Of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to he a danger to itself or any other person or animal. e. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues to take part in tests. 15. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the event. 16. Every effort will be made to test all entrants on the day of the event, if however, due to the number of entrants or circumstances beyond the control of the Working Committee this is not possible, any untested entrants will have their entry fees refunded. 17. The Judges decision in all matters relating to the tests is final. 18. If insufficient entries are received by the closing date for entries, the test Manager has authority to cancel a part of, or the whole event- Judges, Stewards and Entrants will be notified accordingly. 19. Anyone wishing to attend this event as a spectator only, please contact the Test Manager within two days prior to the date to verify that the event has not been cancelled. 20. The Newfoundland Club cannot accept any responsibility for any accident or injury to persons or dogs at the event.
