FCI World Championship in Heelwork to Music on 25-27 June 2010 in the MCH MESSECENTER HERNING, Vardevej 1, DK-7400 Herning Wednesday, 02 June 2010 Dear HTM & Freestyle World Championship participant. Thank you for your entry for the World Championship. We are looking forward to seeing you in Denmark. The World Championships are held in connection with the World Dog Show 2010 in Messecenter Herning, Hall J3, Vardevej 1, 7400 Herning on the 25 th, 26 th and 27 th of June 2010. Show Manager Helle Ferrold will be the Show Manager. She will introduce herself to you in the hall on Thursday during practice time. Please speak to her if you have any questions or enquiries. She will be available on phone number +45 31431455 during the 4 days. The Show Manager will not be able to ring you back, but she can receive calls and texts. The Show Manager s instructions must be followed at all times. Dog and Handler tickets Your Dog and Handler ticket (number) is included with this letter. It allows you and your dog access to the World Dog Show on all 4 days. Please remember to bring your Dog and Handler Ticket, pedigree and vaccination certificate (the dog must have a valid rabies vaccination that has been given at least 21 days prior to departure from your country). You may be asked to show officials these documents at any time during the Show. The hall will be open from 7.00 am each day. Car Park The parking is free of charge and unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve parking places in advance. Distribution of parking areas Rings M1-M8, Rings C9-C16, Rings U48-U61 and agility must park at Green Parking P Syd 3 GPS coordinates: N56 o 06.939 - E008 o 57.326. Rings L17-L22, Rings F23-F28, Rings K30-K35, Rally, HTM and Freestyle must park at Blue Parking P Syd 2 GPS coordinates: N56 o 06.983 - E008 o 56.956. Ring E29, Rings H38-H45 and Rings A46-A47 must park at Red Parking P Vest (entrance south) GPS coordinates: N56 o 07.163 - E008 o 56.814. We would like to point out that the instructions from the parking officials must be followed. Dogs in warm cars If the show management or the show veterinarian find it irresponsible to leave dogs in the cars, it will be announced once or twice. If the dogs are not removed from the cars immediately, the matter will be passed on to the police. If your car is air conditioned, please place a sign in the car window which must be visible to the Car Park Officials. Dressing Room A shared dressing Room will be available for all handlers in Hall J3. 1
Opening Ceremony The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday 25 th, at 1 pm before the HTM judging commences. The guest speaker for the opening will be the President of the FCI Obedience Commission, Mr. Johann Kurzbauer from Austria. All World Championship handlers must be ready (with or without dog/s) for the Opening Ceremony at 12.45 pm. We encourage all teams/individual handlers representing their country to bring a National flag, which can be carried in front of the team. Please notice! The Team Manager is responsible for handing in a CD with your country s national anthem to be played at the Opening Ceremony. This should be done at Music Check In on Thursday afternoon. It is a very tight timetable, so please make sure you are ready when it is your time to practice and show your fellow competitors respect by leaving the ring, when your allocated time is over. Judging Judging will commence at: Friday 25th June: Just after the Opening Ceremony which is at 1 pm. Saturday 26th June: 10 am Sunday 27th June: 10 am. The dog and handler team which draws Running Order No. 1, will be the 2nd team to perform in the ring. 2
Presentation: The presentation of the World Championship Winners for teams and prize-giving will be held in the ring in Hall J3 soon after the last dog and handler team has performed. Presentation of the Individual World Champions and prize-giving will be held after both the HTM and the Freestyle Finals have been held on the 27th. The Top 3 Teams and Individual winners will be presented in the Main Ring on Sunday afternoon. More information will be available nearer the day. The Final, 27th June 2010 The ten dog and handler teams that have acquired the highest score in each of the disciplines, qualify for the Individual Finals (10 Heelwork to Music and 10 Freestyle). The Individual World Champion in each section will be the competitor with the combined highest score from the qualifying heat and Sunday s Final. Briefing, 24th June 2010 Briefing for all World Championship handlers will be held at 6 pm Thursday evening in Hall J3. Each team must be represented by at least one member. The running orders will be drawn at the briefing. If a team has not sent anyone to represent them, the head judges will draw their running order and decide in which order the handlers must compete. It will be possible to direct questions to the Show Manager or to the Judges at the briefing and important information will be given at this time, so make sure you are there. Running orders Team competitions Friday and Saturday: The running order within your team must be handed in to the Show Manager in writing at the briefing. It is for the individual team to decide in which order you want to compete. The teams running order will be decided by a random draw. All handlers running first for their country will compete in the drawn order, and then all handlers running second for their country will compete in the drawn order and finally all handlers running third for their country. Individual Final Sunday: The running order will be decided by a random draw, which will take place immediately after the competitions on Friday and Saturday at the prize-giving presentation. World Championship Dinner, 24th June 2010 The World Championship Dinner commences at 7 pm in the restaurant in Hall F. Please note that music should be checked in with either the official DJ or the Show Manager directly before or directly after your allocated practice time in the competition ring on Thursday. If you have declined the opportunity to use the practice time, then please check in all your team s Heelwork To Music CDs during the practice time on Thursday afternoon. And your team s Freestyle Music should be handed in directly after the Heelwork To Music Competition finishes on Friday. A CD should be handed in for each of your team members and a back up disc for each routine should be taken to the ringside prior to entering the ring to compete. Please remember that the absolute maximum time allowed for a routine is 4 minutes. 3
Speaker Information Sheet Please fill in the Speaker Information Sheet, which is included in this letter and hand it in with your CD at Music Check In. The Ring This event will be held on a surface of carpet laid on concrete with a ring approximately 25 x 15 metres. The judges will be positioned centrally on one of the longer sides. The boundary of the ring will be fenced. There will be a warm up area in the same hall as the competition ring, approximately 15 x 15 metres. No noisy toys or clickers are allowed in the warm up area. Bitches in season Bitches in season are allowed to compete at the World Championships under the following conditions: Bitches in season are allowed to practice in the ring on Thursday afternoon/evening, but not until all other handlers/dogs have completed their training. Bitches in season are not allowed into Hall J3 until all other teams have finished competing and practicing. A special waiting area for bitches in season will be set up. Bitches in season will compete last on the day regardless of the official running order and random draw. The carpet in the ring will be professionally cleaned each night between practice/competition days. DVDs and Photo CD DVDs and Photo CDs from the World Championship can be ordered at the World Championship. Please follow the instructions on the order forms, which are included with this letter. Please hand in your completed order forms on Thursday during the team's practice time or after the briefing, as everyone will be very busy when the competition starts. You can hand in both order forms to Show Manager Helle Ferrold. She will pass them on to Stig Rex Andersen and Allan Brown. IMPORTANT! If you order both the DVDs and the CDs please hand in your order forms and money in separate envelopes! Both order forms in one envelope will not be accepted! Catalogue The catalogue is included with this letter. Vet Participants from Great Britain, Sweden, Norway and Finland can consult the Show Veterinarian at Entrance South 2 (between halls K and L) all days between 10.00 and 11.30 or between 13.30 and 15.00 for worm and tick treatment and the required paperwork. The dog owner must pay a fee of DKK 250.00 (exclusive of tablets) for the consultation. Dog owners can bring their own tablets. Further information about the veterinary regulations in Britain, Sweden, Norway and Finland appears from the websites of the veterinary authorities of the respective countries. A bag contains 12 kg of the variation lamb and rice and will be handed out freely. To receive your free bag, you must bring your dogs number (dog and handler ticket) and call at the Eukanuba stand in Hall G (G5660). There is one free bag per participant as long as stock lasts. 4
Docking and Cropping All ear cropped dogs born after 30th June 2009 cannot compete regardless of the dog's country of birth. Cropped dogs born before 1st July 2009 can compete if the dog has been born in a country where ear cropping is permitted (Danish bred ear cropped dogs born after 1st January 1985 cannot compete). Tail docked dogs born after 1st June 1996 cannot compete regardless of the dog s country of birth. The prohibition also includes dogs that have been docked for veterinary reasons irrespective of whether a veterinary certificate is presented. The following breeds are excepted from the tail docking prohibition: German Wirehaired Pointing dog, German Short-haired Pointing dog, Brittany Spaniel, Hungarian Pointing dog and Weimaraner. For dogs born before 1st October 2004 applies that if the dog has been born stump-tailed (with a natural bobtail) it must as far as Danish bred dogs are concerned appear from the dog s pedigree certificate. As far as foreign-bred dogs are concerned, a veterinary certificate issued in English in the country where the dog has been bred must be presented, certifying that the dog has been born stump-tailed. For dogs born after 1st October 2004, only the following breeds can have inserted in the pedigree certificate that the dog has been born stump-tailed (with a natural bobtail): Australian shepherd, Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, Brittany spaniel, Boston terrier, Bourbonnais pointing dog, Bouvier des Flandres, Croatian sheepdog, Danish/Swedish farm dog, English bulldog, Entlebucher sennenhund, French bulldog, Gos d Atura catala, Jack Russell terrier, Karelian bear dog, King Charles spaniel, Mudi, Old English sheepdog, Perro de agua espanol, Polski Owczarek nizinny, Pyrenean shepherd dog, Pyrenean sheepdog (smooth faced), Swedish vallhund (Västgötaspets), Schipperke, Terrier Brasileiro, Welsh corgi Pembroke. Dogs without tail or with only a part of the tail born after 1st October 2004 of all other breeds (with the exception of Brittany spaniel, German Wire-haired Pointing dog, German Short-haired Pointing dog, Hungarian Pointing dog and Weimaraner) are considered missing a part of the body and consequently they cannot compete.
