The father replied If we had enough space then it would be okay. Hachiko was still very loyal to Dr. Ueno, even though he died. He would still go to the train station and wait in the exact same spot where he d get picked up by Dr. Ueno. In fact, Hachiko would spend so much of every day at the train station. The dog probably lives there Kentaro thought. In fact, Hachiko would go to Dr. Ueno s house at night to take rest but quickly go back to the train station afterwards. After Hachiko died, a statue was made for him at the same train station in Tokyo. However, during World War II, it was destroyed because the army needed metals for the war effort. After the war though, a new statue came there. Even today, people pass by the train station and see the dog s statue. It is not known whether most people remember the dog s loyalty or not. As astronomers look into the depths of space, nobody knows how far it goes. We can see so many stars in our galaxy, but we don t know about other galaxies one scientist said. There are so many galaxies that people stopped counting. It s probably more than we can count! However, the amount of stars in our galaxy is within the billions. In our own solar system, it is extremely big. If we traveled the speed of light, we would reach the sun in eight minutes! How many stars are there in our solar system? There are many! We can see many of them just by looking up at the sky! Our sun is included! Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is ten times smaller than the sun. It is obvious that nothing else is bigger from all the things that exist in our solar system. The name of our galaxy is the Milky Way Galaxy. To get you an idea about space, everything is far away! Things are so far away that we measure them in light years! That is, if we traveled the speed of light, then it would take us a certain amount of years to reach that place! Now, that is far away! It would take 45 minutes to reach the end of our solar system if we traveled the speed of light. It would take four light years to reach the next planet that could be habitable by other human beings. It would take 25,000 light years to reach the black hole. The black hole is in the center of the galaxy too! (2 marks each) 1. Our galaxy has a very large amount of. 2. Earth is not the largest planet in our Solar System. It s actually. (4 marks) 3. Everything in space has large distances from each other, so we measure in. When farmers discovered the terra cotta soldiers in the 1970s, they had no idea that they had made one of the greatest discoveries of modern times. Archaeologists uncovered 7,500 clay soldiers that were perfectly made! They were the works of none other than the cruel Chinese ruler Qin Shi Huang. If anybody messed up on the designs of the terra cotta soldiers then their lives would be lost. Emperor Qin believed that he would take them into his afterlife. He planned it so much that nobody would find out where they would be discovered. He even had the planners killed once they finished putting the soldiers in. Emperor Qin wanted to live forever. But he couldn t escape death. Instead, he died at the age of 49. Yes, death was the one thing he feared the most. That s why he was so ferocious and meticulous about all the details that went into the terra cotta soldiers! 4

(8 marks) In four sentences, write as if YOU discovered the terra cotta soldiers in the 1970s. Would you steal the treasures? Would you steal some of them? Or would you respect the history so much that you would hand everything over to authorities? Use the information above to guide you to your response. Check your grammar, spelling, full stops, capitalization, and details. 5
