A Note From Our Director Happy New Year to our friends of the FKSPCA! Last year the FKSPCA was able to help 1,879 animals through our adoption, education, cruelty investigation, clinic and animal control programs. In 2018 the FKSPCA found homes for 698 animals, returned 535 animals to their owners through animal control, free shelter for domestic abuse victims' pets and transferred 90 animals to breed or species specific rescue groups. It is with your help and support that the FKSPCA is able to continue to provide enrichment, medical care and shelter for the animals that come to us year. In the year to come we will continue to provide care for the animals that come to us each day. Whether it is the old dog who is surrendered because their family moved to a new location where they couldn't take him, or the newborn kittens found abandoned under a house we will be there to love and care for them until they find their second chance with a loving family of their own. If you are interested in helping the animals we serve please consider volunteering your time, making a one time or recurring gift to any one of our animal care funds such as Oscars Fund to care for injured animals that come to us each day needing veterinary treatment, the Ellen B. Gray Fund which helps provide spay neuter and medical care for our shelter friends, or the Animal Care Fund which provides enrichment, medical supplies and food for our sheltered animal friends. To learn more please see our website at fkspca.org or email me at tammy@fkspca.org. We want to wish you and your family all the best in this new year. Thank you for your support and for being a hero and partner in our lifesaving mission. With Gratitude, Tammy Fox, Executive Director Upcoming Events:

Adoptable Animals My Name is "Mayzee" If your New Year's Resolution was to exercise more, than Mayzee may be the dog for you! At just a year young, she's a wonderful exuberant cattle dog mix with energy for days. She lives for walks and runs! Her energy may be misunderstood and "too much" for some people, but we know the right person is out there somewhere. Her adoption fee has been paid thanks to our friends at BTA Foster Home! If you're looking for a dog that can keep up with YOU be sure to meet Mayzee at our Marathon Campus. To meet your new best friend call our Marathon Campus at 305-743-4800.
He was part of a hoard of cats in rough shape. Kovu had a large wound on his tail and spent several months receiving medical care before he could be put up for adoption. Despite his injury he never lost his spirit! This kitty is the first to greet you in their catio and absolutely loves attention and affection. If you want a social cat, Kovu is the one! Visit the Florida Keys SPCA Marathon Campus at 10550 Aviation Blvd (behind the airport) or call 305-743-4800. Meet "Arrow" He is a four-year-old Domestic Short Hair surrendered one year ago and would love to find his new family! He is a sweet boy who LOVES water. He sits by the sink or in the sink just waiting for someone to turn it on so he can drink from it. Arrow also loves lounging with on the shelves in our cat adoption rooms. He could live alone or room with other cats and will just need a warm spot in your home to cuddle in the sun. Stop by the Key West Campus to meet this sweet boy today! "Kiara " Kiara was seized from her home because her owners were not caring for her properly and is currently looking for her furever home at our Key West Campus. Kiara is friendly, affectionate, goofy and happy! She is quick to roll over for belly rubs, loves playing with her toys and giving everyone she meets big sloppy kisses! She is still a pup
with a wild side, but loves treats and will respond easily to reward based training. She would probably do well with a four legged friend and be a great family dog! Stop by to meet this ball of love today! They will be honored at the CFFK's Unsung Hero Luncheon with other Monroe County Non Profit volunteers on Saturday January 25th for their amazing dedication. Happy Tails: Adoption Update Marley Adopted Mojo a Month Ago... "It was a tough choice to pick out just one kitty from the shelter. We made several visits and bonded with too many sweet cats and we finally made our decision. We thought it would take several weeks or months before our new adoptee would mesh with our household but it took less than 24 hours and he was perfectly at home and bffs with Henry, our mature and very handsome dog. It wasn't until we caught the two curled up together that we realized they are almost identical twins. Maybe that's why they get along so well?!? It's been about a month now and we couldn't be happier with our adoption choice. Mojo loves to be carried around on our shoulders to see all of the "sights" from our eye level, all the while purring like there is no tomorrow. He enjoys sitting in the windows checking out the neighborhood and saying hi to the neighbors. He
"helps" us out with all of our household projects and chores. Mojo showed us a new game he likes to play a few days ago...fetch! The four of us are so happy together it was a match made in heaven." We couldn't be happier for Mojo in his amazing new furever home! Thank you Marley for the great update! VISIT OUR WEBSITE Florida Keys SPCA tammy@fkspca.org fkspca.org
