I was a stray at a local shelter and did not have much of a chance of getting out alive due to my age. Adopt-An-ANGEL took me in and started me on the road to adoption. I am heartworm negative so someone owned me at one time. My teeth had been very neglected. The vet had to pull 17 teeth! I was also spayed and had a small mass on my right side removed. I feel so much better! I can now eat well and have been chowing down my food in true Beagle style. I get along with everyone, kids, dogs and especially cats. I even love kittens. Bella & Izzy We are sisters, pretty close to twins, who are named Bella and Izzy. We were found by a nice family, along with our two brothers, a couple of months ago. Someone had left us in the woods behind this family's house, and thankfully, the family was nice and took us in for about 6-weeks. Our two brothers were adopted by friends of the family, and we were then taken in by Onslow County Partners for Animal Welfare (OCPAW) to help us find new forever homes. Canines for Service Awarded Grant Canines for Service of Wilmington, NC has been awarded the Wounded Warrior Service Dog Program federal grant for $106,090. The grant, which was applied for this past August through an extensive application process, was awarded from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. The grant award enables Canines for Veterans to provide three service dogs over the next 12 months to Veterans with service connected disabilities.
