NO Ex-Pens allowed inside. No space for unentered dogs. Grooming & exhibiting in the same building. This is a self-cleaning show. Owners or agents are required to clean up after their own dogs in all areas. No baby strollers are allowed in the Building ACCOMMODATIONS We ask our exhibitors not to leave dogs unattended in rooms unless crated. Please do not bathe dogs in the hotel rooms. Hotels are getting more and more difficult to find, so please take care that we do not abuse the privilege of bringing our dogs into the room. CONFORMATION CLASSIFICATION The following classes will be offered for both Specialty Shows No Novice Classes offered Regular Classes For Siberian Husky Only Puppy Dogs 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy Dogs 9 mos. & under 12 mos. Dogs 12 mos. & Under 18 mos. Bred By Exhibitor Dogs American Bred Dogs Open Dogs Winners Dog (Same Classes for Bitches) Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) Class Eligibility The Bred By Exhibitor Class shall be for dogs that are; Not Champions of record on the date of closing of entries for the show. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog AND an owner of record of the dog by closing. All Dogs entered in the BBE Class must be individually registered with the AKC at the time of closing. Family members must be a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in this class. Best Of Breed Competition Additional Classes Involving Single Dogs Veterans Dog/Bitch: For Dogs and Bitches 8 years of age and over. Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches may compete in this class. Winners of these classes will compete for Best Of Breed Sled Dog Class To qualify for entry in the Sled Dog class the dog must have completed one of the following three requirements. During the previous racing season, each entry must complete twelve (12) heats with a minimum of four (4) miles per heat, or 48 miles per season. All races must be on snow with sleds and under the direction of a Recognized Race Giving Organization with rules and recorded results. A Race Season is from April1 to March 31. Entries who complete five (5) years in competition where the above rules are met shall be automatically qualified for the Sled Dog Class. A Certificate of proof may be issued by the Chair of the Working Committee if the 5 years of proof of competition records are sent in. Entries who have been awarded an SHCA Sled Dog Certificate, either SD, SDX or SDO and are additionally eligible for entry in a conformation class at an AKC event are eligible to compete in the Sled Dog Class. Spayed or neutered dogs are not exhibited in this class. A list of the races in which the dog competed, or a copy of the five year certificate or a copy of the Sled Dog Degree must be sent to the Show Secretary when entry is made. Proof of qualification must be available at ringside with one of these shown if challenged. Parade Of Title Holder All Siberian Husky AKC Champions, AKC Obedience/Rally Titled, Sled Dog Degree and Agility Titled dogs of record are eligible to enter the Parade. A medallion will be presented to each entrant. Parade of titleholders must be marked on the entry form in the space provided for additional classes. This is a non-competitive class and will be held on SATURDAY only after all judging has been completed. A qualifying score is required for all Trophies in regular classes. Veterans Veteran Class- shall be for dogs that have an Obedience Title and are eight (8) or more years of age on the date of the trial. The exercises shall be performed as in the Novice Class. Dogs in the Veteran Class may be entered in any regular Class. Spectators/exhibitors are allowed to videotape dogs in the ring as long as it does not interfere with judging, the comfort of other exhibitors and/or obstruct the free flow of foot traffic. Flash photography of dogs while they are competing inside the show ring is not permitted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All persons attending this show hereby waive any claim for damages against the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit or its members, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The use of foul or abusive language may result in a hearing of the Bench Committee. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal/external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NO SMOKING WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY OF THE BUILDINGS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All cellular phones must be turned off or set to vibrate while within 20 feet of any ring. 8

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Sunday, March 9 ONLY Competition is needed for Best Junior Handler Award AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be obtained from the American Kennel Club, Phone (919) 816-3776, or E-mail tbh@akc.org. Entry blank must be filled out with the necessary information, otherwise the entry in Junior Showmanship will not be accepted. Novice Intermediate Class: For boys and girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close have not won three First Places with competition present in a Novice class at a licensed or member show. Entries sent without fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practical after entries have closed. A $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee and an AKC recording fee of $.50 or $3.00 AKC Recording Fee Only for Rally if offered will be required for first entry of each dog entered and a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes in any licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial, Rally Trial or Tracking Test (AKC Rules, Chapt. 11, Sect.2). These fees are included in the entry fee No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Post dated and returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a $30.00 collection fee to each returned check. The Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit and the Show Secretary, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers or in any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. No refunds for duplicate entries. Every effort to find duplicate entries will be made. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellations after the published closing date and time. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising pen. Class cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging is over. The Show Secretary, & the SHCGD disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging is over. All trophies will be awarded in the ring. No trophies will be mailed. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of The Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible too open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as but not limited to storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat must be considered for the health and safety of the exhibitors, dogs and spectators. The well being of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fees will be made. This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry form for these events. 12
