SPONSORSHIP PACKET C O L O R A D O MOUNTAIN MUSHERS

In the Company of Sled Dogs Anticipation is written all over the faces of the dogs and their handlers as the excitement reaches a fevered pitch. The dogs strain in their harnesses, lunging forward in unrestrained enthusiasm as race time nears. They get to the starting chute, handlers holding the dogs and the sled in place as the timer counts down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and then they are off, dead silence except for the pounding of furry feet and the shush of the runners being dragged across the snow. For the first-time observer, the dog sledding scene can appear to be a somewhat chaotic experience. With the dogs barking & jumping, mushers frantically hurrying around hooking up their team to their sled via a gang line. The enthusiasm of the dogs is palpable and even infectious for this is what they love to do. This is a scene that is played out throughout the winter months over snow covered trails of the Rocky Mountain region. A Plea for Help Since we are a non-profit organization we try to keep our events affordable to our members & we do not charge for our community outreach. This is where we reach out to find sponsors and accept donations from the community to help defray our costs. We hope that you would like to help us keep this sport and our educational outreach alive and part of the community in which we all live. The following pages show our support levels and what you will receive in exchange for your support. Please take time to review our Sponsorship Levels and see what you can do to help with in keeping this an active and vibrant sport. Thank you for your consideration, Mark Hatch President - Colorado Mountain Mushers C O L O R A D O MOUNTAIN MUSHERS www.colomtnmushers.org COVER PHOTO PROVIDED BY:

Colorado Mountain Mushers...Born to Run Colorado Mountain Mushers (CMM) was established in 1989 to foster and promote the sport of Dogsledding, with an emphasis on education and the promotion of a family oriented style of racing. We are a 501C3 organization with about 70 individual & family memberships. Most of our members live in Colorado but we have members from the surrounding states as well. We cover a wide range of dog powered sports from Dryland bike & cart races in the Fall to the traditional snow events of sledding & skijoring during the Winter. Besides our race schedule we have also done a large number of educational and community outreach programs throughout the years from community events, K-9 related fairs and school presentations. Below is a list of activities that CMM has been involved with: 1. Holding racing events (usually 4 6 times per year), this happens during the Fall & Winter months. Over the years we have held events in Colorado, Wyoming & Utah. With one of our race locations in Colorado we have donated almost $1400.00 to the YMCA of the Rockies over the past 3 years. 2. Holding educational & hands on clinics for those interested in the sport. This usually happens in the fall. 3. Providing educational talks and demonstrations to schools & community events throughout the year. Over the years we have done numerous School Presentations, especially around the time when the Iditarod Race occurs in March. Some of the places we have done School Presentation are: ~ Laramie Wyoming area ~ Greater Denver, CO. area ~ Colorado Springs, CO. area ~ Glenwood Springs, CO. area ~ Dillon / Frisco, CO. area ~ Divide, CO. area For the 2014 Colorado Spring Winter Olympics Celebration, we were asked to come talk to the community and give sledding demonstrations for those attending the celebration. 4. Other events we organize: Annual Banquet to recognize club members and their achievements throughout the year Summer picnic where people can get together and socialize, it also provides an opportunity for non-members to meet & socialize with members. Hold a yearly campout where members & people interested in the sport can get together over a weekend to train dogs, discuss dog sledding & over all have a good time. 5. Fundraisers: Last year we held an event raising almost $500 for Mushers who lost their homes in the Sockeye Wild Fire in & around the Willow Alaska area.
