NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS This trial is sanctioned by the North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) with Willamette Agility Group (WAG) as the host club. Exhibitors through submission of their entry acknowledge that they are knowledgeable of NADAC rules and regulations and relevant WAG policies, including the following rules regarding entry and agree to abide by all rules in effect at the time of this trial. Dogs must be registered and have a valid registration number before entries will be accepted. NADAC registration forms can be obtained at the NADAC web site, or dogs can be registered online to immediately receive a permanent registration number. Go to www.nadac.com (click on "dogs" on the home page). Please check to be sure your dog s NADAC registration number on your trial confirmation, and the posted copy of the results at the trial is correct. You should report any discrepancies to the Club s trial secretary. Trial results will be posted to the files section of the NADACAgility@yahoogroups.com list within two weeks after the club submits them to the NADAC office. Please accept the responsibility to check to be sure your registration number and qualifying points, as reported by WAG, are correct. You can join the NADAC Agility list and set your settings to no mail. You ll be able to view trial results and correct any discrepancies without receiving list mail. NADAC will no longer hand check catalogs for discrepancies. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to check the results as they are uploaded, and report errors before the results become a permanent part of your dog s records. You only need to contact NADAC if your registration number or qualifying results are reported incorrectly by the club. If they are correct, then you do not need to do anything. Levels. Points earned at the higher level, prior to the completion of the lower level title, may no longer be banked for future use. As of June 1, 2006 if a dog enters a level of class that they are not eligible for, then those points will not be added to the dog's records. There will be a 60-day grace period (starting April 1, 2006) for handlers to become familiar with the posted information. After that if they enter at the wrong level or use an incorrect number, then those points will not be added to the dog's records. Current Jump Height Table, Breed Exemption List, description of classes, levels, and divisions are included in the current Exhibitors Handbook. A copy of the current Exhibitors Handbook may be downloaded free from the NADAC web site. Exhibitors may request a hard copy of the current Exhibitors Handbook by sending $5.00 to: North American Dog Agility Council, 11522 South Highway 3, Cataldo, ID 83810. Exhibitors may contact NADAC at info@nadac.com with general questions or for information. All dogs must be on leash when not competing in the ring. No leads, collars, food, toys or other aids or devices will be permitted on the course at any time. Checks not honored by the bank do not constitute a valid entry fee. There will be a $20.00 service charge for bank returned checks. There will be no refunds in the event that a dog and/or handler are dismissed from competition, regardless of the reason for dismissal. 100% of entry fees will be refunded if requested before the closing date. After the closing date, injured or ill handlers or injured, ill, or in heat dogs will receive a refund less $10.00 handling fee. Verification from a doctor or vet may be requested. Running order will be determined at the club's discretion. An attempt will be made to separate runs for handlers with more than one dog in a class. In the Skilled category an exhibitor may choose to enter the dog at the height it would jump in Proficient or one jump height lower. Veteran Handlers receive 10% more standard course time in the non-jumping classes. Any dog which demonstrates aggression towards any person or dog, whether inside the ring or outside the ring, must be excused from the trial. THE MANAGEMENT will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any dog exhibited, or for the possessions of any exhibitor, whether the result was by accident or any other cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this event is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show Committee be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of fees paid will be made. NADAC RULES AND REGULATIONS This trial will be held under the current rules and regulations of NADAC. By entering this trial, the exhibitor is representing that he/she is knowledgeable of NADAC s rules. Exhibitors Handbooks are available free of charge by downloading from NADAC s web site at www.nadac.com. A hard copy of the Handbook may be requested through the NADAC office. SKILLED AND PROFICIENT CATEGORIES Starting in January 2006, there will no longer be gambles in the Regular Agility course. Regular Agility will include a designated distance test as part of each course. The distance test will be a required element in the Proficient category and is optional in the Skilled category. A dog may be entered in one category, Skilled or Proficient, per weekend. A dog may not be entered in Skilled one day and Proficient on another day. Dogs may enter the Skilled or Proficient category in the Standard, Veteran, or Junior Handler Division. In the Skilled category, you can work toward earning Medallions. In the Proficient category, you can work toward earning a NATCH. If you enter the Skilled category, you may choose to run your dog at one jump height lower than its standard jump height. (Four inches will remain the minimum jump height.) Dogs are allotted the standard course time for, and are scored and placed, in the jump height entered. If you do not complete the designated distance challenge successfully (or elect not to attempt it), you will receive a 5-point fault. Dogs entered in the Skilled category may have up to 5 course or time faults and still receive a 5 pt. Qualifier toward their Regular Agility title. In the Proficient category you must have a clean run, with no course or time faults, and successfully complete the distance test to earn a Q. CHANCES (was WILD CARD) CLASS There is no more tracking of gamble types and you do not have to start at the Novice level. You may enter at the level in which you were previously seeking points for Gamble certification titles. The Chances class contains tests of distance, directional, and discrimination skills (referred to as DD&D). The dog and handler will have 40 seconds to complete the numbered course with each course averaging between 10 and 15 obstacles. There will be a handler line defining each of the tests, with three tests being included in the Elite Course; two tests in the Open Course; and one test in the Novice Course. Only the dog may cross the handler line(s) defining each test; the handler may not cross or touch the line(s) at any time. The Chances class is strictly a Pass/Fail test. Faulting any obstacle on the course, even those not part of a DD&D test, will result in a faulted run and a qualifying score will not be awarded. The SCT will be 40 seconds. If the dog does not go over time, the time will be recorded as 40 seconds. If the dog goes over time, the time will be recorded as 41 seconds. Those will be the only two times recorded, 40 or 41. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded, but there will be no placement ribbons. For each qualifying round, the dog will earn 10 (ten) points towards their Gamblers certification. In all divisions and categories, certification in the Gamblers Classes requires 30 points.
