WHAT IS A SIEGER SHOW? The word Sieger means Champion in German. The winner of a Sieger Show is therefore the dog that is the most beautiful of the most conformationally correct on the day of the show. The most beautiful male wins the Sieger title and the most beautiful female wins the Siegerin title. Dogs that are less than 24 months do not qualify for the coveted Sieger and Siegerin titles, however, if they are between 12-24 months, they do compete for the Youth Sieger and Youth Siegerin titles. Each dog entered in the show is given a written assessment (critique) by a respected and knowledgeable Judge of Rottweilers. The critique describes the dog s features from head to tail. The dogs must be shown in their natural state (ie: no clipping of hair is allowed) and the Judge usually moves them more than in a CKC or AKC type conformation show. This is why there is no dress code for the handlers. We recommend handlers wear clothes and footwear that will allow them to run comfortably. ABOUT OUR JUDGE ANTON SPINDLER Anton was the 1st President (interim) of the ADRK in 1993. He was the Vice-President of ADRK from 1994 to 1996. He is the IFR Delegate for ADRK for 2012. Anton has been a Rottweiler breed judge since 1993 and VDH judge with the ADRK since 2001. Anton has judged all over the world. He has judged the Klubsiegerzuchtschau, Bundessiegerzuchtschau, Europasiegerzuchtschau and the IFR World Shows. He has been a Kormeister since 1997. Anton also participates in his own IPO Club where he is the sport warden and dog trainer. He is a licensed protection helper. He has successfully trained all his males and females to IPO1 to 3, BH, AD, FH1 and FH2, Ztps and Korungs. Anton has been breeding Rottweilers since 1989 under the kennel name Von der Zirbelnuss up to the R litter. He breeds for a very well balanced dog (family, show, sport). Be prepared for any type of weather (this is Calgary afterall!!) Remember to bring the essentials for you and your dog s comfort. i.e. Crate, water, lawn chairs, shade cover, pooper scooper bags etc. Only participating dogs are allowed near the show ring. No dogs will be allowed within 30 feet of the show ring, except those whom are being judged. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times or in an appropriate crate. Dogs must not be tied out. Dogs are not permitted on the baseball diamond. Public restrooms will be available. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. You may want to bring your own lawn chairs for comfort. CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG(S)! ZTP (BREED SURVEY) ZUCHTTAUGLICHKEITSPRÜFUNG A Rottweiler breed survey (ZtPr) is a test designed to select those Rottweilers that are worthy of being bred. There will be a written evaluation of the whole dog. Not just conformation, but the temperament and character as well. THE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Age of 18 months. A weight certificate from a Veterinarian no more than 10 days old. Hip certification from an internationally recognized registry (ie: OFA, OVC, ADRK etc.) Dog must have visible tattoo (or microchip with Vet certificate). We will have a scanner on site for microchips You must provide proof of dog s BH ( B ) Title. Photocopies of the above required documentation must be submitted with your entry form, and you must have originals with you at the show. 13
SHOW RULES This show is held under RCC rules. SHOWING/HANDLING YOUR DOG: Dog must be shown in its natural state. (ie: no clipping of hair is allowed) You must be able to show your dog s dentition. The Judge may excuse your dog if you are unable to do so. Dogs demonstrating overly aggressive behaviour may be excused at the Judge s discretion. Uncontrolled dogs (in or out of the ring) and their handlers may be asked to leave the show grounds without a refund. Pregnant or whelping females cannot not be shown. Handlers are required to run with the dogs and should dress appropriately (ie: running/ jogging shoes). Two handlers per dog are permitted for running purposes. Pinch/prong or flat leather or nylon collars are not permitted in the show ring. You must have your dog on a fur saver or choker style collar on the dead ring. While your dog is in the show ring, NO food is to be used to bait your dog. Your dog may be baited with a toy or a ball, but NO bite sleeves/bite pillows or whips are allowed to be used to bait dogs with. Exhibitors: Agriculture Canada requires a valid Rabies certificate for your dog. You will be asked to show proof of your citizenship at the US/Canada border crossing. (must have a valid Passport) ABOUT OUR SHOW We will only list valid titles with proof in the show catalogue. ie: conformation wins such as Sieger titles, Championships, as well as working titles in schutzhund, obedience, agility, herding etc... (Placings and ratings will not be listed.) This show is held outdoors, rain or shine. Un-sportsmanlike conduct will NOT be tolerated. Anyone displaying such conduct will be asked to leave the grounds without a refund. Please be courteous to the Judge and fellow exhibitors who have traveled long distances to make this a memorable event. Critiques and certificates will be presented each day after the show.
