Page 6 December 2015 Chatter-Barks Ormond Christmas Parade Our Club will be walking in the Ormond Christmas Parade on December 12, 2015. This is the parade that we have to have lights on our dogs or leashes. You can get the battery operated lights for that. We wear our club shirts and dark colored slacks. If it s cold, you can wear a sweatshirt underneath your club shirt. I will have my car in the parade in case you or your dog comes up lame and needs to ride. Line up for the parade will be at 5:30. I will email the line up location as soon as I receive it. We hope you will plan on participating with us so we have a nice turn out of members. Thank you to Laurel Hendricks, Cheryl Johnson and Kelly Zen for helping me represent OCOD at the Blessing of the Pets at the United Methodist Church in Ormond. Pat Mozden Abilities Day at Daytona State College, some of the Therapy Dog Team participants despite the rainy weather. Pictured below are Sharon McKelvey & Carly, Jan DeGraff & Hope, Valerie Vetter and Joya. Public Education Corner The Public Education Committee is now an actual committee In addition to Pat Mozden, the planning committee consists of Laurel Hendricks, Nina Daly, and Rhea Machado. Plus, many other members have jumped in to help with various activities. It has been a busy Fall season with multiple events at Petsupermarket, a grand opening for a local vet, and a blessing of the pets at an Ormond church. This is a big SHOUT OUT to everyone who helped this definitely takes more than one person. The committee will be meeting to plan our activities for 2016. As our plans shape up, we will let the membership know what is happening so that you can mark your calendar if you would like to attend. Our efforts make a difference as we reach out to area dog owners informing them of the benefits of training their dog to be a good canine citizen. Pat Mozden
