Thank you for applying for an Export Pedigree certificate. The majority of overseas kennel clubs, with which the Kennel Club has a reciprocal agreement, require a Three Generation Export Pedigree and proof of registered ownership. By completing this application the export pedigree will be issued, however the Kennel Club would like to offer you a variety of pedigree certificates available in addition for you to keep. EXPORT PEDIGREE FIVE GENERATION PEDIGREE An Export Pedigree is required by an overseas kennel club should you wish to register the dog in the country of residence. You can also obtain a size A4 Five Generation Pedigree providing the Kennel Club registration number, breed, colour, sex, date of birth, breeder, owner and information on five generations of your pedigree dog s ancestry. Export Pedigree 50.00 Five Generation Pedigree 10.00 THE FIVE GENERATION ENHANCED PEDIGREE The Five Generation Enhanced Pedigree is an A3 size certificate printed on high quality paper and includes an embossed seal and colour printing with Champions printed in red text. The information provided includes Kennel Club registration number, breed, colour, sex, date of birth, breeder, owner and information on five generations of your pedigree dog s ancestry. This is an excellent asset for showing how many of the dog s ancestors are Champions. FIVE GENERATION ENHANCED PEDIGREE 23.00 THE FIVE GENERATION ENHANCED PHOTO PEDIGREE! Discover the Champions in your dogs family tree and order now at: www.thekennelclubshop.org.uk Exporting dogs: a) To ensure the best quality of life for the animal in question, the Kennel Club would suggest that breeders or owners consider the following points very carefully, before exporting a dog to an overseas destination. The final destination of the puppy/ dog is known. The person receiving the animal is known to the exporter. The reason for purchase and the accommodation for the dog are acceptable to the exporter. ADVICE TIPS BEFORE FILLING OUT AN EXPORT PEDIGREE FORM The country of final destination has sufficient and effective animal protection legislation and animal welfare standards. b) Information regarding the regulations involved in exporting a dog may be obtained from the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Defra, Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London, SW1P 3JR. A guide to help you complete an Export Pedigree form This form should be used to apply for an Export Pedigree certificate. It should be completed and sent to the Kennel Club. To complete your application online go to: www.thekennelclub.org.uk/forms/ 1 Dog details Please complete all sections in order for the Export Pedigree form to be accepted. Please make sure that the microchip or tattoo number for the dog has been completed on the Export Pedigree application form. If this is omitted it may result in the overseas kennel club refusing to register the dog. You are advised to confirm with the relevant Kennel Club to find out its requirements. If the details are added at a later date and a duplicate Export Pedigree is required, a fee of 20.00 will be required to provide a duplicate export pedigree. 2 Certification of a male dog Declaration to be signed by veterinary surgeon including the practitioner address and qualification(s). Only applicable for a male dog. By signing, the veterinary surgeon is certifying that they have on the given day examined the dog identified to them as the above, and confirming that both testicles are fully descended in the scrotum and are apparently normal. 3 Breeder(s) name The breeder is the person who bred the dog/bitch. Please complete all contact details here. 4 Applicant(s) name and address The applicant is the name of the current owner/breeder or the agent acting on behalf of the owner. Please complete all contact details here. 5 New owner(s) name and address The new owner is the name of the potential new owner who is taking ownership of the dog. Please complete all contact details here. The Kennel Club cannot issue an export pedigree until the dog is registered in the ownership of the overseas owner. If the dog is to be transferred into a new overseas ownership, a transfer of registered ownership application must accompany the export pedigree application. An additional fee would be applicable for this service. If the ownership remains the same then the new overseas address must be stated on the application form. An export pedigree can only be issued showing an overseas address. 6 Country of export Enter the name of the country to which the dog is being exported. The majority of overseas kennel clubs, with which the Kennel Club has a reciprocal agreement, require a Three Generation Export Pedigree and proof of registered ownership. However you are advised to confirm with the relevant kennel club to find out its requirements. Canadian exports In the case of two dogs of the same breed and sex exported in the same consignment to Canada, each dog must be tattooed before dispatch, with a mark supplied by the Canadian Kennel Club to the importer. This mark must also appear on the export pedigree. If such marks have been allocated by the Canadian Kennel Club in respect of these dogs, please give exact details for reproduction by the Kennel Club on the pedigree. 7 Confirmation to whom the pedigree should be posted Please tick to indicate whom the pedigree should be sent to. You may only select one option. If this section is not completed correctly the pedigree will automatically be sent to the new owner overseas. 8 Fees and additional items There are additional services available with your Export Pedigree application. The Kennel Club reserves the right to reject any application to register a Kennel Name or transfer any dog or to change or cancel or suspend any registration and may cancel or suspend any registration or transfer or grant of a Kennel Name already made. ii. The data and health screening results connected to your dog will be published and used for registration and publication in relevant Kennel Club documentation as well as included in the Health Test Results Finder and Mate Select calculations. The data may also be used for research (statistical purposes) and shared with trusted and reputable partners for the sole purpose of undertaking research to improve dog health and welfare. iii. The Kennel Club General Code of Ethics All breeders who register their puppies, and new owners who register ownership of their dogs with the Kennel Club, accept the jurisdiction of the Kennel Club and undertake to abide by its general Code of Ethics. Breeders/Owners: 1. Will properly house, feed, water and exercise all dogs under their care and arrange for appropriate veterinary attention if and when required. 2. Will agree without reservation that any veterinary surgeon performing a caesarean section and/or an operation on any of their dogs which alters the natural conformation of the animal, may report such operation to the Kennel Club. 3. Will agree that no healthy puppy will be culled. Puppies which may not conform to the Breed Standard should be placed in suitable homes. 4. Will abide by all aspects of the Animal Welfare Act. 5. Will not create demand for, nor supply, puppies that have been docked illegally. 6. Will agree not to breed from a dog or bitch which could be in any way harmful to the dog or to the breed. 7. Will not allow any of their dogs to roam at large or to cause a nuisance to neighbours or those carrying out official duties. 8. Will ensure that their dogs wear properly tagged collars and will be kept leashed or under effective control when away from home. 9. Will clean up after their dogs in public places or anywhere their dogs are being exhibited. 10. Will only sell dogs where there is a reasonable expectation of a happy and healthy life and will help with the re-homing of a dog if the initial circumstances change. 11. Will supply written details of all dietary requirements and give guidance concerning responsible ownership when placing dogs in a new home. 12. Will ensure that all relevant Kennel Club documents are provided to the new owner when selling or transferring a dog, and will agree, in writing, to forward any relevant documents at the earliest opportunity, if not immediately available. 13. Will not sell any dog to commercial dog wholesalers, retail pet dealers or directly or indirectly allow dogs to be given as a prize or donation in a competition of any kind. Will not sell by sale or auction Kennel Club registration certificates as stand alone items (not accompanying a dog). 14. Will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the breed nor falsely advertise dogs nor mislead any person regarding the health or quality of a dog.
