Over the years I have shown and bred many different breeds however I am currently showing and breeding: Crested, Self and Satin PE White, Buff, Saffron and Sheba Mini Yak. I ve been judging for about 13yrs now and I really like meeting everyone and their cavies. It s been an amazing experience judging cavies all over Australia. I am very honoured to be invited to Judge at the National show and would like to wish everyone a most enjoyable day along with every success with your cavies.
Sarina Etherington Sathra Stud (NSW) Thank you to the ANCC National Show Organising Committee for the great opportunity to judge at the National Show 2015. This is a prestigious event for all Cavy Fanciers, if you have not been to the National Show prior to this year, you will enjoy this as your first National Show!! Sathra Stud is my breeding Stud name established in 1976, with my two sisters Robyn and Tricia, and now my nieces, Larissa and Angelica, are also breeding and showing cavies. We are very proud of the accomplishment of our reputation for breeding and showing our preferred breeds. Cavies have been part of my life for nearly 40 years, by receiving pet guinea pigs from my Aunty Mavis for Xmas and all this started from there!! We started showing in the late 70 s at San Sauci Scout Hall, Albion Park and the Sydney Royal Easter Show. I have established many breeds throughout the years, whilst getting married, having 2 children (my son Matt is 26 now and Jessie is 22 ). Mick is my devoted & loving husband and I m sure he didn t realise that he was marrying a (mad woman) guinea pig wife and her family!! I have personally won the National 3 times, in 1996 a fantastic Golden Agouti sow Sathra Junior, then in 1998 with a terrific Self Black sow Sathra Black Maggie and in 2013 with my lovely Self Black sow Sathra Black Gypsy. I also won Reserve in Show in 1989 with a Self P.E.Golden sow, Sathra Petronella. Over the years I have won many Best in Groups and Best in Breeds at this amazing National show!! As mentioned I have had many breeds over the years, but these are the breeds I have in my stud at the moment, Self Black, Self Saffron, Self buff, Self Pink Eyed Golden, Golden Agouti and Red Dutch. I qualified as a judge in 1987, and since then I have judged in every state in Australia and I have also judged in New Zealand. I have been involved in the NSW Committee on and off for many years, but am currently President of NSW Cavy Club for 2015. I am on the Judges Senior Panel in NSW guiding and training trainees. I have made many friends over the years, some have moved on due to not being involved in cavies anymore whilst some cavy friends have returned back to the Cavy World. We, as such close cavy friends know we do, spend an abundance of time talking, caring, sharing ideas, showing and travelling together, this makes our cavy fancy so enjoyable and the great hobby it is!! Matt Gardiner Renaissance Stud (Vic) I started showing Pet Cavies in the fancy with Cavy Owners & Breeders Society in Queensland in 1985 and registered my first stud prefix in 1986 when I started showing Pedigree Cavies. I have three stud prefixes but solely use Renaissance now. I first started judging back in 1991, it is something I knew I wanted to do ever since I was a junior member, and I love being on that side of the table. I have been fortunate enough to judge in most states of Australia. I am really looking forward to judging at the National Show for 2015. A very big thank you to the ANCC National Show Organising Committee for the invitation. The National Show is my favourite show of the year. You cannot beat the atmosphere, and seeing friends you wouldn t normally see for so long. It is the best thing! Stephen Robson Rustyplains Stud (Qld) I started breeding and showing pedigree cavies back in 1999 when I registered my Stud (Rustyplains Cavy Stud) and joined Northern Rivers Cavy Society. I started with Rex but it wasn't long before Self and Crested Blacks and P/E Whites took over my shed. Over the years I have bred and shown breeds from all 7 groups. I started my Judges training back in 2002 and have had the honour to judge in almost every state in Australia. I have judged both Canberra and Hobart Royals and the state titles in QLD, NSW, South Australia and Victoria. I have also judged shows in Western Australia. It is a great honour to be judging the 2015 National Cavy Show, I thank the ANCC National Show Organising Committee for the opportunity to judge my first National.
Diana Carroll Woodsong Stud (Tas) I would like to thank the ANCC National Show Organising Committee for the inviting me to judge the Junior and Novice sections at this years National Show.
