No Playgroup Saturday, December 29th Page 1 WE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY 12/24/12 through TUESDAY 1/1/13 HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Hugo is a delightful dog (who thinks he is really a human inside a little furry coat) who enjoys being shuttled to and from daycare daily (only the best for him!) He is a true clown, and our resident model always eager to try on all our new fashions and holiday décor. Besides having a great sense of humor, Hugo is one of the sweetest and sensitive dogs we have ever had the pleasure to meet. The holiday season is finally here! We hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends and your pets! What s going on around Go Play! This season we have decided to raise money for a very worthy cause. Many of you know that we lost our dog Simon (he was my dad and my very best friend) this past year to a reaction from his scheduled rabies vaccination. The Rabies Challenge Fund is working to determine the duration of immunity conveyed by rabies vaccines. Their goal is to be able to extend the required interval for rabies boosters to 5 and then to 7 years (rather than the 1 or 3 year interval required now.) The Rabies Challenge Fund Charitable Trust is a federally registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization and we are hopeful to raise a generous donation to help with this important research. Please contribute any amount you can cash or checks will be accepted here and we will have a donation box on the counter. Checks should be made out to the Rabies Challenge Fund.
Mr. Barksmith s Cool Treats for Dogs are just plain AWESOME! They are made from human-grade ingredients and come in a few really awesome flavors something every dog can enjoy! When frozen, they make the perfect ice cream treat that we love no matter how cold it is outside! Unfrozen, they will go great into your Page Kong, 2 Squirrel Dude, or other busy toy that our parents give to us to keep us out of trouble! Cool Treats are a must-have for this holiday season! We carry all flavors and the holders to put them in meaning there is no mess to clean up! My favorite treats this month! Looking for a high-quality canned food to supplement your dog s diet? Did you know that 25% of your dog s daily diet should consist of moisture (like what is found in a canned food)? My favorite food this month! Consider the NEW Merrick Grain-Free 96% Canned Formulas! Available in Buffalo, Chicken, Duck, and Tripe limited ingredient formulas sure to suit even dogs with sensitive stomachs! These cans are a loaf consistency meaning they are also ideal for stuffing into a bone or Kong.
The holidays are messy. Tree needles falling out, wrapping paper shreds, candle wax on everything, and not to mention the dishes to wash from all that holiday feasting! Page 3 Consider one of our Stuffing-free Plush Toys this season for your pet! Available in several different cute options, you can let your pooch have fun without contributing to the mess! A true toy boy, Jabber gives his monthly toy review! And dogs LOVE them they are fun to shake around and squeak! This month, Calypso and Apollo decided to combine columns to talk about dogs wearing human costumes. Calypso Says: Obviously, dressing up is my cup of tea. Don t you think I make the most beautiful Ms. Claus ever? I love to wear ANYTHING and EVERYTHING my parents want to put on me. I ll keep it on forever - I love all of the attention and just know I look so cute! Apollo Says: While I don t *mind* being dressed up, it s not my favorite thing. I mean, do I look at all happy about being a dumb Christmas tree? I will wear outfits and costumes just fine, but I m really in it for the cookie I get when I m done. Bottom line, if you decide to dress up your pet, make sure the outfit won t scare them. Always give them a good cookie as a reward and make sure they are comfortable in what you decide to put on them (i.e. it fits, isn t tight, and they can move in it.) If your pet LOVES to dress up, we have lots of options here for the holiday season for the canine fashionistas out there!
