No dog owned or co-owned by the Show Chair will be exhibited at this show. The Show Chair will not exhibit dogs at this show. The day will wind up with our annual banquet, which this year will take the form of a poolside Barbeque at the hotel. The annual meeting will be the evening of Thursday, Oct. 11 at the hotel. Hospitality: The Palace Garden Hotel features nine restaurants including fast fare. It is permitted to bring food into the ballroom during the show. Grooming is allowed in the Ballroom. A section of the ballroom will be cordoned off for the ATFTC on Friday. Please note that on Saturday and Sunday all-breed shows are taking place in the ballroom and there will be limited space for Toy Fox Terrier exhibitors. Please be courteous to the other exhibitors. NATIONAL SPECIALTY SWEEPSTAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Toy Fox Terriers at least 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Classes to be divided by sex and age. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. All entries in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class in this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: Puppy: 6 months and under 9 months; 9 months and under 12 months; Junior: 12 months and under 15 months; 15 months and under 18 months The eight class winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes & Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open to all Toy Fox Terriers 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Classes to be divided by sex and age. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may be entered in this class. The winner of each class will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entries in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in any other class at this show. Entries shall be made at the same time on the same entry form used for the regular classes. Indicate Veteran Sweepstakes and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for Additional Classes. CLASSIFICATION ~ VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES The following age division classes are offered for both Dogs and Bitches: 7 years and under 10 years; 10 years and under 13 years: 13 years and older The six class winners will compete for Best In Veteran Sweepstakes & Best Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes. DIVISION OF SWEEPSTAKES STAKES ~ PUPPY & VETERAN 35% of total Sweepstakes fees will be retained for expenses. Novice - Not Offered Amateur Owner Handler Bred by Exhibitor Bitches American Bred Bitches Open Bitches Winners Bitch BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner s records. If, at the end of th e 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. GRAND CHAMPION SELECT When quality warrants, after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are awarded, a Select Dog (SD) and Select Bitch (SB) may be chosen from the remaining Champions (Non Regular Class winners that are Champions and Qualify for BOB are eligible) - (WD or WB are not eligible) (AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 3, Section 14, Effective 5-12-10) AWARDS OF MERIT (OFFERED FOR THE AFTERNOON NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY) In appreciation, ATFTC will offer Awards of Merit to deserving Toy Fox Terriers for recognition of their quality. It is entirely the judge s decision whether to give all or none of the available Awards. Awards of Merit are selected from the Toy Fox Terriers in the Best of Breed Competition; including Winners Dog & Winners Bitch. The number of Awards, signified by a Red, White & Blue Rosette, is determined by the number of entries present: One Award of Merit for up to 10% of the Best of Breed entries. AMATEUR OWNER HANDLER CLASS ELIGIBILITY For non-champion dogs at least 6 months of age. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog. Entry is limited to exhibitors who have never been a professional handler, an AKC-approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler. Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13 of the AKC Dog Show Rules). Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs to a professional handlers organization, distributes rate cards, or otherwise advertise or represent themselves as handling dogs for pay. BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in the class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class for Best of Breed Competition. *Veteran Dog *Veteran Bitch (For dogs or for bitches seven (7) years of age and over) *Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. * STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in the Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular conformation classes or for Best of Breed Competition. No Stud Dog or his Get may be shown as a part of another unit. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC Policy, or the standard for its breed. * BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. * Chapter 11, Section 8: of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. BRACE CLASS - Each Brace shall be composed of two (2) Toy Fox Terriers, with at least one common owner, to be shown in the ring at the same time. The dogs comprising a brace must be named at the time of entry. The entry form for each dog entered as part of a brace that is already entered in a regular conformation class or Best of Breed MUST be marked accordingly in the space for Additional Classes Brace Class. 7

Novice Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 October 31 of the following year..all Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year Each dog handled in a Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the Breed or Obedience Classes at the show, or must be entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog may be substituted. Such substitution must be accompanied by an official AKC entry form. All such substitutions must be made one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship Classes at the show. Each dog must be owned or co-owned by the Junior Handler or by the Junior Handler's father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather or grandmother, including step and half relations or by a member of the Junior Handler's household. Every dog entered for Junior Showmanship must be eligible to compete in Dog Shows or in Obedience Trials. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. A dog that has been excused or disqualified by a Breed Judge or by a Bench Show Committee may still be handled in Junior Showmanship if eligible to compete in Obedience Trials. A dog that has been rejected, dismissed, or excused by the Veterinarian for the protection of the other dogs at the show or for the protection of the dog excused may not be handled in Junior Showmanship. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one half -hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging or one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show, whichever is earlier. Winning of first place in an Open Class at this show may qualify or count toward qualification for entry in certain future limited Junior Showmanship Classes.
