Paul Keily (Winds), Ex Army, runs a Pet Cemetery in Adelaide, South Australia and with connections to the USA War Dog Association. Paul will be an Associate Member. Ross Allan, Ex RAAF Police Dog Handler, now living at Struck Oil, Queensland with his wife Margaret. New RDHA Merchandise Proposed by Ray Thomas that a pure silver bullion medallion be cast by the SBA Group, Precious Medals with the RDHA Logo of three dogs and the words RAAF Dog Handlers on the top & MWD & EDD on the bottom. (The bottom engraving is up for debate). After submitting a request to the ADF Manager to use the words Australian Defence Force on the medallion, I received a letter back in the negative as ADF is a Brand Name and can t be used for sale purpose. Suggestions from the ADF Chief of Staff to the Vice Chief of the Defence Force included the words Australian Defence Dog Handlers was given permission to use. The design has now gone into SBA Precious Medals for manufacture and hopefully there will be some ready for the ANZAC weekend. See design below. The sale price if each medallion will be $50 plus postage. This will include a ½ oz. 999 pure silver medallion, as shown below, encased in a hard plastic case, a certificate of authenticity and a hinged wooden gift box lined with blue velvet.\

Page 6 of 8 The RDHA Committee decided to purchase 20 medallions for the up-coming ANZAC weekend 2016. Also there has been a purchase of 100 giveaway mementos for the Dog Handlers that are present at the ANZAC weekend plus a further 200 to be sold at a total cost of $247.03. The 200 to be sold at $1.00 each. The 100 mementos will be given away to all attendees at the ANZAC weekend in Adelaide. Moved: Kim Hodges Seconded Keith Pearce that we accept and purchase 20 of the above design for the RDHA 999 pure Silver Medallions, and the purchase of the above mentioned ANZAC weekend mementos and for sale articles be accepted. Item 3. ANZAC Day Raffle Don t forget about the ANZAC weekend raffle. See copy at the end of these minutes. There will also be a second prize which will be held as a surprise until the drawing on the day. Tickets for the raffle will be priced at $5 per ticket 3 tickets for $10 or 5 tickets for $20. The RDHA Has purchased the Australian War Dog set at a costing over $400.00. Moved: Kim Hodges Seconded: Keith Pearce that the RDHA sell the tickets for the above mentioned prices and accepted. Item 4. ANZAC Day March 2016 A synopsis was written by Ray Thomas and emailed to the Adelaide RSL Media person for Television commentary on ANZAC Day. The ANZAC weekend in Adelaide is coming along very well with permission from the Plympton Glenelg RSL to attend the Dawn Service at Moseley Square, Glenelg, the RSL Adelaide to march in the city and the support from the Commanding Officer 3SECFOR SQN (RAAF Doggies) to march in front/behind a Flight of Military Working Dogs, Explosive Detector Dogs and their handlers. Page 7 of 8 Item 5. Members suspended, behind in subscriptions The President has found that only one out of the nine members had the courtesy to contact him about their late subscriptions. Therefore, these eight members were suspended due to failing to pay subscriptions. Names are withheld. DVA-Claim in relation to shoulders Linda Scott has been putting together a submission to present to DVA on shoulder injuries related to Defence Dog Handlers. With the help of myself and a few others this submission will bring attention to the work related injuries to Defence Dog Handlers to give them a better understanding of what is required when dealing with Defence Dogs. Why only shoulders? One step at a time. Moved: Keith Pearce Seconded: Kim Hodges that Linda Scott continues her very good work in gaining recognition of injuries for Defence Dog Handlers be accepted. The Committee would like to thank Kim and Marie Hodges for opening her home to the RDHA members that attended and for the great snacks supplied by Marie. There being no further general business after asking each member present at the MC meeting was closed by the President at 1310 hrs.
