Eligibility of Dogs Eligibility of Dogs: Open to all breeds and mixed breeds of all sizes six months of age and older. Dogs must be able to fit through an 18 by 18 tunnel made of straw/hay bales. Deaf dogs may compete. A BHA, LLC registration number is required for each dog to compete in these events. Please visit Barnhunt.com to register your dog. Bitches in season are eligible for entry but will be required to be kept separate from all other dogs and will be run at the end of their class. If bringing a bitch in season, please inform the event chair prior to the event and inform all exhibitors at the judge's briefing. Bitches in season will be required to compete in pants or britches. Move Ups Move ups prior to the trials must be received by the event secretary by Monday at 6 pm prior to the trials. Trial to trial move ups will be allowed, and must be received in writing by the trial secretary within 30 minutes of a trial ending. Notice to Exhibitors A current copy of the BHA Rule Book can be found at barnhunt.com. All dogs must be on a short leash and under control while on event grounds except when showing. Flexileads are not allowed on the event grounds. Electronic collars and devices, choke chains, and prong collars are not allowed on event grounds. Head halters are not allowed on event grounds. At no time should dogs be tied out or otherwise left attached to something other than a human. Dogs must run naked without a collar or harness. Dogs should be brought to the ring with a collar or harness which can be easily and quickly removed and replaced. Bitches in season must wear pants. Exhibitors are responsible for being in the blind and ready for the call to the gate when it is their turn to run. The judge need not wait for any dog holding up a class. The club has no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or steward for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought to the ring when required. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Ribbons & Prizes Rosettes will be awarded for first through fourth place in the Novice and Open classes in each height division. Ribbons will be awarded for all qualifiers in the regular classes and the Instinct Test. Additional prizes may be available. New title ribbons will be available. Acknowledgement of entries will be made via email as soon as practicable. Please include legible e-mail address on your entry form. All entries will be confirmed by email upon receipt. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a $30 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified or excused by the Judge or Veterinarian or barred from competition by action of the Event Committee. No refunds for bitches in season. If because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the show giving club, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refunds will be made. Entry fees include $1.50 BHA recording fee. Owners are responsible for errors in filling out entry forms. REFUNDS: Full refunds will be given if the event secretary is notified prior to closing. Partial refunds (entry fee minus $5 for each class entered) will be given if accompanied by a vet note (in the case of an injured dog) or a doctor's note (in the case of an injured handler) and presented to the event secretary prior to the classes for which a refund is being requested. To facilitate the trial we reserve the right to modify judging assignments and the order of classes for load balancing entries, judging limits, or to facilitate smooth running the trial. Judging assignments will be published in the trial final confirmation, but may need to be modified during the trial.

Event Site These trials are being held outdoors under cover (in three barns). There is limited shade. There will be plenty of room for tents to be set up. These trials are being held on a private farm that allows dogs only in certain areas. Please abide by all signs and rules of the farm. Directions to the Event Site The event site is on the eastern shore of Maryland. From the North: Take Rt. 301 South. Take the exit for 213 North toward Centreville. Just before entering town, turn left on Rt. 18. Go past the 4H Park. Take the 4rd right onto Tilghman Neck Road. Go exactly 2 miles. Spring Cove Farm lane is on the right. Follow signs to parking. From the South and West: Take Rt. 50 to Rt. 301 North. Make a left at Greenspring Road. (Queenstown Vet Hospital is on the corner.) Bear right onto Rt. 18. Take the first left onto Jos. Boyles Road. Go 2 miles to stop sign. Make a left onto Tilghman Neck Road. Go 1 mile. Take a right into the second driveway into the woods. Follow signs to parking. From the East: Take Rt. 50 West to Rt 213 North (Chesapeake College Intersection) towards Centreville. Follow directions from the North.
