Dogs Moved to Different Level Class A dog which has been entered in a Novice A class for which it is not eligible to be entered in due to class restrictions on the dog or handler may be moved to the Novice B class under the following conditions: The request for the move must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. The request must state the reason and justification for the move from a Novice A class to the Novice B class. Change of Entry correction After the close of entries a dog may be moved down in their class level (ie, Master to Excellent). The request for the move to the class for which the dog is eligible must be in writing and submitted to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial. Jump Height Change Effective February 1, 2017 - If a VMO or Field Representative at a trial measures a dog into a height other than what they entered, the entry may be changed from Regular to Preferred or from Preferred to Regular, as long as the dog has not run any classes that day. If the dog has already run, the change may be made for the next trial day(s). The exhibitor must provide the Trial Secretary the AKC Agility Measurement Form when requesting the class change.

Day to Day Move-ups will be allowed The request for moving up must be made in writing at the trial site to the Trial Secretary not later than the day preceding the event provided the Trial Secretary receives them by the end of the trial day. Day-to-day move-ups may not be requested via the phone or by email. It is permissible for an exhibitor to request a day-to-day move-up in person for the following day on a trial day of which he/she did not show their dog. The exhibitor may have someone else on-site fill out/sign the form as their representative. Prizes and Awards Ribbons will be awarded to the 1 st through 4 th place dog in each jump height in each class. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all qualifiers. Course Familiarization and Warm-Ups Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, prior to the start of each class. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all exhibitors. There will be no contact obstacle familiarization for Novice. Eligibility All dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds are eligible to participate. Heights/Height Cards Information MEASURING and HEIGHT CARD INFORMATION All exhibitors should obtain a copy of the Regulations for Agility Trials by contacting the American Kennel Club by email at info@akc.org, or on their website at www.akc.org. Effective January 1, 2010, exhibitors are no longer required to provide proof to Trial Secretaries that their dog has a valid jump height card as part of the check-in process. Furthermore, this change eliminates the need for a copy of the jump height card to be submitted with an entry form. Dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form may still compete; but they must be measured by the Judge of Record PRIOR to running in their class and this measurement will be valid for that weekend of trials only. The exception to this requirement is a dog entered in the 24 or 26 height division. However, if a Volunteer Measuring Official (VMO) or an Agility Field Rep is present; ALL dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form must be measured at some time during the trial or cluster of trials. This does not preclude having the dog wicketed by the Judge of Record if the VMO or Rep is not available to measure the dog before its first run of the trial or cluster of trials. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running and failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores. Preferred Class Any dog (at least 15 months old see Eligibility requirements above) may enter Preferred Classes. A dog entered in Preferred will jump 4 lower than it s regular jump height and have 5 seconds in time added to the regular Standard Course Time. Dogs in the Preferred Class must jump their Preferred jump height.. Dogs are allowed to switch back and forth between the Preferred classes and the Regular classes, but not at the same set of trials. This change may not be made after the close of entry for a trial. HEIGHT DIVISIONS REGULAR PREFERRED HEIGHT AT WITHERS Handlers may opt to run their dog Handlers must run their dog Owners are responsible for entering their dog in the proper height division. in a higher height division. in their proper eligible height. 8 4 For dogs 11 inches and under at the withers 12 8 For dogs 14 inches and under at the withers 16 12 For dogs 18 inches and under at the withers 20 16 For dogs 22 inches and under at the withers 24 20 For dogs over 22 inches at the withers 24C n/a Dogs who measure into the 8 through 20 regular jump height divisions may opt to enter the 24-choice height division at their owner s discretion. Safety, Behavior, and Liability This trial will be conducted under the American Kennel Club Regulations for Agility Trials. For copies of the Regulations visit AKC website online at: www.akc.org. The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the trial committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. Host club and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. Host club reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against host club or any official thereof. Dogs may arrive any time prior to judging if the dog has a valid temporary or permanent jump height card. Otherwise, they must be available for measuring prior to the start of their class if a VMO or AKC Field Rep is available to measure dogs. All dogs not needed for further judging will be excused. Judges are not required to wait for dogs. The Owner of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when it is to be judged. The Club has no responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to inform the gate stewards of possible conflicts before their turn. Obstacles will meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of the Regulations for Agility Trials. No dogs allowed in the restrooms. Please pick up after your dogs. All dogs must be on leash at all times, except when in the ring or when in designated warm-up areas. Refunds Full entry fees will be refunded if an entry is pulled before the closing date/time. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. Host club is under no obligation to offer refunds for duplicate entries for the same dog. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No refunds for overpayment of entry fees will be made for $10.00 or less. Refunds for bitches that come into season after the close of entries: All entry fees less $10 will be refunded in Jump Bucks for the bitch in season if the Trial Secretary receives WRITTEN notice of withdrawal no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class of the day of the trial. A letter from your veterinarian may be required. Bitches in season will not be allowed on AKC showground. Refunds after closing for injured dog or handler: 50% of entry fees will be refunded in Jump Bucks for a dog or handler that has a note from their veterinarian or doctor saying they cannot participate in the show. The note must be sent to the trial secretary before the first day of the trial. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
