Photo credit: Yukio Kina/Poi Dog Photo When Humane Enforcement Officers Mani White and Denise Riggs responded to a call from a concerned tourist and rescued Pa ele, he was in terrible shape from a lifetime of neglect. All skin and bones, missing most of his fur, covered in bite wounds and barely able to use his back legs, this poor guy really deserved a break. Our Helping Paws Visitor Volunteer program has been such a hit, that we thought we d take it one step further and give both visitors AND locals the opportunity to spend the day out and about with a shelter dog! Kitten season is year round in regions with warm climates like Maui, but peaks during the summer months. Here s how you can help us keep Maui s cat population healthy and sustainable:
Brand new rabbit hutches, chicken coops and an aviary. New habitats for our cat ohana. FIVE new play yards for our dogs. Colorful murals, fresh coats of paint and gorgeous new plants. Change is happening at the Maui Humane Society and we couldn t have done it without your support!
