Philly Paw Prints Issue 6 November 14, 2018 Executive Director's Message: Happy Thanksgiving Thanksgiving And We Are So Grateful! Susan with recently adopted Bobby Photo by David Maialetti, photographer for Philly.com, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Daily At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. Albert Schweitzer News. Sometimes all of our flames need a little rekindling in this difficult business of saving lives we happen to all be in! This Thanksgiving seems to be a perfect time to thank all our staff, volunteers, rescue partners, media partners, supporters and our community for providing those rekindling sparks. That s what a sustained focus on saving lives can do. These sparks of kindness, compassion and determination keep the flame lit within us, inspiring us to give the animals and the people we serve our best every day. When I look into the eyes of the animals heading out our doors and into loving foster and forever homes the Greys, the Bobbies, the Bubbles, the Papas, and so many, many others - it is no trouble to see that they are also deeply grateful for their second chances at great lives. So I ll say it once, and I ll say it again (and again and again): thank you, thank you and thank you! The very best of the Thanksgiving season to you and your family.

Love Local Shout-out Peaceable Kingdom ACCT Philly would like to spotlight Peaceable Kingdom for this month's Love Local shout-out! Peaceable Kingdom was instrumental in the rescue of many, many bottle feeders and kittens this summer, and even helped us with some ringworm babies. We couldn't have saved as many lives as we did without their help, and for that we are extremely grateful. Thank you Peaceable Kingdom! This November 27th, we are taking part in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving back to communities. What can you do to help? We've put together a toolkit of pictures, logos, links, tips and social media posts to help you join our Giving Tuesday campaign! On Giving Tuesday, ACCT Philly raises money for our Stella Fund, which provides lifesaving medical care to animals in our shelter. Each dollar donated impacts the number of lives we can save. Help us make a difference in the lives of sick and injured shelter animals. Download the resources in this toolkit and mark November 27th on your calendars. We look forward to

having you join us! #GivingTuesday Toolkit Donate Now! Project Save One This Saturday -- And an Opportunity for Your Rescue to Win $1,000! Are you a rescue ready to help save some lives?
