DOGS WEST FCI/ANKC CACIB Show Information Night

Introduction In accordance with the FCI/ANKC Associate Membership Agreement the ANKC is required to conduct a minimum of 2 Certificats d'aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté (CACIB) shows per year.

Thèse shows are to bé conducted using the 10 FCI Groups and the FCI Breed Standards for each of the breeds.

This may be compressed to 7 A CACIB may be awarded to the best Dog and Bitch of each recognised breed at the discretion of the Judge and provided it was awarded Excellent (1) in its class and is 15 Months and over.

A CACIB awarded in an Australian State/Territory may go towards an FCI International Champion title earned in Australia or Internationally. To become an International Champion a Dog must earn 4 CACIBs in 2 States, under 3 different Judges and from 3 different FCI Member Countries.

Classes The decisive date for age is the day the dog is shown. Only the following classes are recognized at ANKC /CACIB shows sanctioned by the FCI. Classes in which the CACIB cannot be awarded: Baby Puppy - For dogs aged three and under six months. Minor Puppy - For dogs aged six and under nine months. Puppy - For dogs aged six and under twelve months.

Classes The decisive date for age is the day the dog is shown. Only the following classes are recognized at ANKC /CACIB shows sanctioned by the FCI. Classes in which the CACIB cannot be awarded: Baby Puppy - For dogs aged three and under six months. Minor Puppy - For dogs aged six and under nine months. Puppy - For dogs aged six and under twelve months. Classes in which the CACIB can be awarded: Junior For dogs aged nine and under eighteen months. (providing the winner is 15 months of age or over) Intermediate For dogs aged eighteen and under thirty-six months. Open For dogs 15 months and over that are not Champions Champion To enter a dog in Champion Class, the title must have been confirmed by the issue of a Registered Pedigree Certificate with the title added by the day of the official closing date of entries; a Champion that has not attained 15 months of age may not be awarded a CACIB A Champion may be entered in it s age class but not in the Open Class

Qualifications EXCELLENT may only be awarded to a dog over 9 months of age which comes very close to the ideal standard of the breed, which is presented in excellent condition, displays a harmonious, well-balanced temperament, is of high class and has excellent posture. Its superior characteristics in respect of its breed permit that minor imperfections can be ignored; it must however have the typical features of its sex.

Qualifications EXCELLENT may only be awarded to a dog over 9 months of age which comes very close to the ideal standard of the breed, which is presented in excellent condition, displays a harmonious, well-balanced temperament, is of high class and has excellent posture. Its superior characteristics in respect of its breed permit that minor imperfections can be ignored; it must however have the typical features of its sex. VERY GOOD may only be awarded to a dog over 9 months of age that possesses the typical features of its breed, which has well-balanced proportions and is in correct condition. A few minor faults may be tolerated. This award can only be granted to a dog that shows class.

The good points should outweigh the faults so that the dog can be considered a good representative of its breed. SUFFICIENT should be awarded to a dog which corresponds adequately to its breed, without possessing the generally accepted characteristics or whose physical condition leaves a lot to be desired.

Titles and Awards CACIB Certificat d Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté de la FCI The only dogs which can be taken into consideration for the CACIB are the 1 st Place Winners (unless 1 st is not eligible) who have been awarded EXCELLENT in Junior, Intermediate, Open, and Champion class and are 15 months of age or over.

Titles and Awards CACIB Certificat d Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté de la FCI The only dogs which can be taken into consideration for the CACIB are the 1 st Place Winners (unless 1 st is not eligible) who have been awarded EXCELLENT in Junior, Intermediate, Open, and Champion class and are 15 months of age or over. The Reserve CACIB is awarded to the second best dog which was given the qualification EXCELLENT from the above mentioned classes. The dog placed second in the class where the CACIB winner comes from can compete for the Reserve CACIB, if awarded excellent. It is not compulsory to award the Reserve CACIB.

Judging Procedure FCI/ANKC CACIB Show The 1 st Placed Dogs in Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior, Intermediate, Open and Champion will compete for the ANKC Challenge Certificate, if the dog that is awarded the Challenge Certificate is 15 months of age or over it will automatically receive the CACIB, providing that it has been graded Excellent and the judge awards it. If the Challenge Winner is from the Minor or Puppy Class the 1 st placed dogs in Junior Intermediate, Open and Champion will compete for the CACIB providing that they have been graded excellent and in the case of the junior/ Champion is 15months of age or over.

Judging Procedure FCI/ANKC CACIB Show The 1 st Placed Dogs in Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior, Intermediate, Open and Champion will compete for the ANKC Challenge Certificate, if the dog that is awarded the Challenge Certificate is 15 months of age or over it will automatically receive the CACIB, providing that it has been graded Excellent. If the Challenge Winner is from the Minor or Puppy Class the 1 st placed dogs in Junior Intermediate, Open and Champion will compete for the CACIB providing that they have been graded excellent and in the case of the junior/ Champion is 15months of age or over. Best of Breed (BOB) (as per normal show) The Challenge winner from both sexes, will compete for Best of Breed (BOB). The Class in Breed Awards will be conducted as at ANKC Championship Shows the BOB will Automatically take the award for their respective class where offered.

Order of Judging Breed Level The order of judging is as follows DOGS Baby Puppy Dogs - For dogs aged three months and under six months (not eligible for CACIB) Minor Puppy Dogs - For dogs aged six months and under nine months. (not eligible for CACIB) Puppy - For dogs aged six months and under twelve months (not eligible for CACIB) Junior - For dogs aged nine months and under eighteen months. (providing the winner is 15months of age or over a CACIB may be awarded) Intermediate - For dogs aged eighteen months and under thirty-six months a CACIB may be awarded Open - For dogs 15 months and over that are not Champions a CACIB may be awarded Champion - To enter a dog in Champion Class, the title must have been confirmed by the issue of a Registered Pedigree Certificate with the title added by the day of the official closing date of entries; a Champion that has not attained 15 months of age may not be awarded a CACIB

Challenge/CACIB The order of judging is as follows Order of Judging All class winners (except Baby Puppy) are eligible for the ANKC Challenge and are to enter the ring The judge selects the Challenge winner from those dogs in the ring. Should the Challenge winner be eligible for the CACIB (Junior 15 months or over, Intermediate, Open, Champion 15 months or over and awarded excellent then they will automatically be awarded the CACIB. The second placed dog from the class of the Challenge winner then enters the ring. The judge selects the Reserve Challenge winner. Should the reserve challenge winner be eligible for a CACIB then if the Challenge winner was not eligible it will be awarded the CACIB. Should neither the Challenge or Reserve Challenge winners be eligible for the CACIB then if any of the class winners were eligible they then remain in the ring for the judge to award the CACIB from those eligible only.

Best of Breed Order of Judging Best of Breed judging is conducted in the normal manner for the Alternate judging procedure which is Best and R/U Best of Breed followed by only Baby Puppy and Puppy Classes. Best in Group and Best in Show Best in Group and Best in Show judging is judged in accordance with the current regulations for the Alternate method. That being Best in Group 4, 3, 2, 1, followed by Baby Puppy and Puppy. Similarly Best in Show is judged 4, 3, 2, 1, followed by Baby Puppy and Puppy
