Imaginology 2018 SMALL LIVESTOCK and DOGS DIVISION GUIDE Hosted by OC 4-H Information: Fill out the entry forms available on the OC 4-H website http://www.oc4h.org/events/imaginology/ using the information below to find your division number for the entry form. There are several categories. Be sure to look for project restrictions under the rules. Submit fees and forms to your club representative/ccl by their due date. No late entries will be accepted. 4-H pins will be awarded Sunday at 4pm on the 4-H Stage in the building at Awards. 4-H and FFA Members and their parents are responsible for following all 4H rules and the guidelines in this book. Members must keep all public and walking areas clean throughout Imaginology. All participants are required to help with event set up on the Saturday prior to the event and clean up immediately after Pin Awards Ceremony Sunday. All times and locations are approximate. Check with Chairs for verification of times and locations. Only animals entered in OC 4-H Imaginology allowed on fair grounds. Sanctioned events rules supersede event rules. OC Fair and OC4-H are not responsible for the wellbeing of your animal. For information about livestock posters see the building guide. Use the information below to help you fill out your entry form.

SMALL LIVESTOCK Times as noted Information and rules for Small Animals: (See additional rules for each species on the following pages) 1. Entries will be submitted for a health inspection. Any animal showing any signs of Illness or parasites will be asked to be removed from OC Fairgrounds immediately. 2. Livestock must be owned 30 days prior to start of event and have shown no signs of illness. 3. Morning or afternoon spot cleaning under and around cages/pens required throughout event. 4. The small animals tent and show arena must be swept clean Sunday night. Please bring your own rakes, brooms and shovels. 5. Bring your own food, water and feed bowls for all livestock. 6. No items above or below cages/pens; space will be available for people and their supplies behind the small animal tent. 7. Spot clean animals only; please no baths on site. 8. Livestock not entering a competition needs to sign up as a display animal. 9. Only livestock/animals officially entered at Imaginology are allowed on fairgrounds. 10. 4H - You must currently be enrolled in a Livestock or other animal project that correlates to your entry and have attended 80% of your project meetings. Project or Club Leaders are responsible for making attendance determinations with the exception of sanctioned shows. 11. All participants are required to help with event set up on the Saturday prior to the event and clean up immediately after Pin Awards Ceremony Sunday. 12. OC Fair and OC4H are not responsible for the wellbeing of your animal.

SMALL LIVESTOCK- Rabbits Saturday 9am Div 20: Rabbit Judging Div 21: Showmanship Div 22: Costume Contest Div 23: Breed ID COST: $4 per animal entry; Showmanship $3; Costume Contest $2 per entry, Breed ID $2 ADDITIONAL RULES: 1. This is a one day ARBA sanctioned show. ARBA rules overrule 4H rules. 2. Entries must arrive between 7:30 am- 8:30 am Saturday or at animal check in on Thursday night. 3. Nesting boxes or half cage boxes with shavings are acceptable. No straw, carpet, cardboard or material can cover more than 50% of cage floor. 50% of wire floor must be exposed for debris/waste to fall through. Cleaning of any flooring used must be done twice a day - morning and late afternoon. 4. No dividers, hanging materials unless rabbits are fighting. No tape or materials than can fall on or become stuck to the animals. 5. Participants are required to provide and use only safe watering bowls and feeders that can be secured to cage and will not spill. 6. Outside cage signs Please limit to 4 x6 Must be safe for animal and placed as directed by Chair. 7. You are responsible for your own rabbit. No one is to open, adjust or tamper with another member s rabbit or cage. Any sharing of care by a member must be discussed with Imaginology Chairperson prior to any actions. 8. Rabbits must have food and water at all times. 9. Youth or their representative (must be discussed with Imaginology Chairperson) must be present at showing or animal will be scratched/forfeited. 10. SMALL LIVESTOCK- Eggs Due: Sunday 8:30am Div 56: Eggs - white (all matching in size) Div 57: Eggs - tinted (all matching in size) Div 58: Eggs - Decorated (painted, colored, glued items) Div 59: Create your own breed (Primaries only) COST: $3 per entry egg entry; Create your own breed $1 ADDITIONAL RULES: 1. Eggs- white and tinted: a. 6 eggs must be fresh, delivered in an non collapsible container b. Place your name and age on the bottom of the container c. No decorated containers allowed d. Must be turned in night before judging or by 8am the day of e. Open to 4H and FFA 2. Eggs- Decorated: a. Eggs must be real, blown out preferred or hard boiled. Can be colored with dyes, paint, dirt or markers. Crafts applied to outside. Design must be under 4x4 inches. b. Size of egg does not matter c. Must be turned in by Friday evening d. Open to 4H and FFA 3. Create Your Own Breed: a. Open to primaries only (age 8 and under) b. Create a chicken using art supplies, household recyclables, trash, almost anything. Use supplies from the store or dirt from the yard. c. Come up with a Breed name for your creation d. Come up with a Variety name for your creation e. Come up with a Class name for your creation f. Attach a 3 x 5 card with your name, breed and variety. g. Keep your fantasy fowl in the bantam class, under 12 inches and 12 inches wide

Participants must enter a division to take the test 2. Small animal tests may be taken only once either Saturday or Sunday from 10am to 1pm 3. Open to 4H and FFA groups SMALL LIVESTOCK - Display Animal (NEW) Do you have livestock you want to display that doesn t fit with the rest of the divisions? Sign up on form DA.

Imaginology focuses on allowing our youth to show off what they have worked on, raised and learned in their projects for the last year as well as furthering the knowledge of each breed to our youth and the public. Examples: turkeys, mini-hefer, unique goat or sheep. We will contact you for more information and availability. Please specify if herd animal being housed with animal being shown. Example: angora goat housed with Pygmy goat being shown. COST: $2 per entry, Babies with mothers $0 ADDITIONAL RULES: 1. OC 4H Imaginology chairs will determine if the suggested animal fits both the theme, space and intent of Imaginology. 2. To enter a display animal it must not fit into any of the division s listed. 3. Be raised by youth. 4. Must have a project leader or CCL approval before paperwork gets turned in. Div 65: Livestock - display animal SMALL LIVESTOCK - Master Showmanship 1:30p (approx) Division winners in poultry, rabbits, cavies, dairy goat and pygmy goat will have the opportunity to advance to Master Showmanship. This is a round robin test of the members ability to work with all the animals listed above. Scheduled: Show Arena, Division winners will be invited after their event. Awards Ceremony in the Project Building on the 4H Stage Sunday at 4pm DOG SHOW Saturday 9:00am Check in 8:30am through Gate 4 off of Arlington park and then walk through Camping Gate.

DOG DIVISIONS Obedience Div 90: Introductory Dog Obedience For members and dogs who have never shown in a 4-H or sanctioned obedience class. Exercises will be: heel, figure eight, stand for examination, recall, 30 second sit and 90 second down. All exercises on a leash. Div 91: Beginning Dog Obedience (A) For members and dogs who have shown once previously and are unable to do off-leash work. Exercises will be: heel, figure eight, stand for examination, recall, 30 second sit and 90 second down. All exercises on a leash. Div 92: Beginning Dog Obedience (B) For members and dogs who have shown more than once previously and are unable to do off-leash work. Exercises will be: heel, figure eight, stand for examination, recall, 30 second sit and 90 second down. All exercises on a leash. Div 93: Experienced Dog Obedience For members and dogs who have not obtained a qualifying score (170+) in an AKC/AMBOR show. Exercises will be: on and off leash heel, figure eight, stand for examination, recall, one minute long sits and three minute long downs. Div 94: Graduate Dog Obedience For members and dogs who have obtained a qualifying score (170+) in an AKC/AMBOR show. Exercises will be: on and off leash heel, off leash figure eight, stand for examination, recall, three minute long sits with handler out of sight, and drop on recall. DOG SHOW - Agility Div 95: Introductory Dog Agility For members and dogs who have never shown in a 4-H or sanctioned agility class. Exercises will include: tunnels, jumps, tables, chutes, and may include dog walk, and weave poles. Div 96: Beginning Dog Agility For members and dogs who have shown in a 4-H or sanctioned agility class, but not obtained a qualifying score. Exercises will include: tunnels, jumps, tables, chutes, and may include dog walk, and weave poles.

Div 97: Experienced Dog Agility For members and dogs who have shown in a 4-H or sanctioned agility class and obtained a qualifying score. Exercises will include: tunnels, jumps, tables, chutes, and may include dog walk, and weave poles. DOG SHOW - Showmanship Div 98: Dog Showmanship For members and dogs who are learning to handle dogs for conformation shows. DOG SHOW - Knowledge Div 99: Dog Knowledge COST: $10/youth for dog show RULES: 1. Exhibitors must be currently enrolled in a 4-H Dog Training Project and have attended 80% of the meetings. 2. Dogs exhibited can be any mixture or purebred. 3. Female dogs in season may not be shown. 4. Dogs must be licensed, with proper verification of current Rabies and all other vaccinations including Parvo (Corona and Bordetella are strongly recommended). 5. Exhibitors may enter one obedience division per exhibitor. 6. Exhibitors may enter one agility division per exhibitor. 7. Exhibitors are responsible for watering and cleaning up after their dogs. 8. Dogs must not be left unattended. Dogs must be caged, kenneled, or closely leashed when not in the show ring and can be at the dog area or campground area only. 9. Any dog abuse will result in immediate disqualification. 10. If a member is using a dog that they did not train from a puppy, the dog must be shown at the dog s highest level of achievement by the Youth. 11. Dogs are not allowed in buildings, food areas or around the livestock area unless they are service dogs. Dog Show awards will be given after the show on Saturday
