Entries & Acceptance No Entry For Exhibition Only No entry "For Exhibition Only" shall be accepted, except as provided for in Chapter 10 when Intro Program classes are offered. See additional note for club policy regarding dogs that measure up. General Rule on Eligibility This event is sanctioned by the United States Dog Agility Association, Inc. ("USDAA"). This test is open to all persons with dogs being at least 18 months of age (14 months of age pursuant to Chapter 10 for Intro Program when offered OR for Sanctioned Match), regardless of pedigree or absence thereof, who have a current registration with USDAA and whose owners and the dog's handler are currently in good standing with USDAA. This event will be held under USDAA Official Rules and Regulations, a copy of which may be viewed and printed online at www.usdaa.com., as amended General Rule on Eligibility This event is sanctioned by the United States Dog Agility Association, Inc. This event will be held under USDAA Official Rules and Regulations, a copy of which may be viewed and printed online at www.usdaa.com, as amended Policy on Refusal of Entry The Organizing Committee of an event may refuse the entry of any competitor or dog for just cause should the Committee view that participation by the competitor or dog could be prejudicial to the sport. However, in such case, the Committee must notify the competitor in writing upon receipt of entry, but in no case, more than three days following the event closing date for acceptance of entries. The burden of responsibility for the appropriateness of such action rests solely with the host group and its Organizing Committee. NSF Check/Credit Card

Any check or credit card that is charged back by the bank or other financial institution may be assessed a service charge of up to $40 per incident at the discretion of the host group. Returned checks or credit card returns do not constitute a valid entry. Amounts shall be paid within 30 day of postmarked notice of the returned payment if such date follows the event date. Any fees not received within 30 days of notice will result in cancellation of event results for all classes related to the entry for which payment was made. No reinstatement of results is possible, and all awards must be returned within 10 days of notification or the dog's registration may be suspended pending restitution. Any unpaid fees or shortfalls must be paid prior to the start of the event, or entry is canceled without recourse. Refund Policy There shall be NO REFUNDS for entries withdrawn after the closing date for acceptance of entries, for absentee, dismissal from the event as a result of disciplinary action, dismissal from a class, or for any other reason. Also, no entry fees will be refunded if the event cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, acts of terrorism, fire, "act of God", public emergency, strike, or any other cause beyond the control of the host organization. BIS Policy Allowed VA Ruff Riders now accepts entries for Bitches In Season (BIS). BIS will be allowed to compete within the following parameters: Bitches MUST wear sanitary panties at all times on the show grounds, in the crating area, common areas (on the way to potty) and while competing. By doing so, no adjustment in running order will be necessary and other competitors can easily recognize the condition of the bitch. Please be respectful of other competitors while your BIS is in close proximity of other dogs. Failure to follow these procedures may result in dismissal from the trial. Submission of Entries with Secondary Move-Up Date All entries or cancellations must be received at the Secretary's address no later than the closing date, after which time no entries will be accepted or cancelled. For entries received by the closing date, the level of entry into a given class may be advanced by notifying the Secretary in writing via email by the "Secondary Closing Date". No other changes, cancellations or additions may be made after the initial closing date. To be accepted, entries must be complete, signed (by parent or legal guardian if handler is a minor), received by the closing date and accompanied by the correct fees and include a valid USDAA registration number on a completed registration form. Next-Day Move-Ups Allowed At This Event Competitors earning a qualification during the Event that is needed to complete a title may advance their level THE NEXT DAY at the same event, i.e. move-ups on consecutive days ARE allowed. Competitors are responsible for keeping accurate records of their qualifying scores and the judges from whom these scores were earned prior to this event to ensure that the dog is eligible to move up based upon scores earned at this Event. Competitors are advised to confirm scores earned with the scorekeeper and judge at the conclusion of a class to ensure the qualifying score has been accurately calculated and awarded in accordance with regulations. If for any reason it is determined that the score or previous scores were inaccurate, making the entry ineligible for the higher level class, any results (including awards) shall be forfeited and the entry will be deemed invalid without refund or other recourse. Move-up forms supplied by this event must be used to notify the secretary BEFORE she leaves the site the day on which you earn your title. Express & Overnight Entries Entries sent by Fedex, Express Mail or other courier service will only be accepted if the waiver allowing delivery without signature is signed. The club will not be responsible for deliveries delayed if a signature is required. Check-in & Measuring Dog Measurements & Certification All dogs not jumping 24" in the Championship Program or 20" in the Performance Program at local and regional events must be measured unless they have permanent USDAA or World Cynosport Dog Registration status or a temporary card with 3 signatures as required by the regulations, making the dog eligible for their jump height (prior to 3 years of age). Please note that only dogs 18 months of age and entered in the event may be officially measured. Measuring Dogs Entered In Intro Program Classes Dogs entered in the Intro Program classes that are under the age of 18 months SHALL NOT have measurements recorded should measuring be available at an event. ONLY an approved Advanced or Masters-level judge of record OR an Advanced or Masters-level judge hired for measuring purposes may measure an entered dog 18 months or older AND record that measurement on a temporary height card. A temporary height card sent to USDAA containing one or more of the required 3 measurement(s) prior to the age of 18 months will be returned so that the measurement process can be completed per regulations. A dog NOT entered in the trial is ineligible to be measured. A Dog that Measures Up at Check-In - May Run FEO

If a judge's measurement of a dog at check-in establishes that the dog is ineligible for the height class in which entered, the competitor may Run the dog at the higher height in the same program based upon the measurement, Modify the entry to enroll the dog in the proper height class in the Performance Program, Modify the entry to enroll the dog in the proper height class in the Veterans Program if the dog is 8 years old Run For Exhibition Only (FEO) at the next lowest jump height, but only in the program entered. Because entry into a higher height is permitted in the Performance and Championship Programs, a dog measuring lower may not be moved to a lower height in either program. General Entry Conditions Prohibitions on Aids & Devices No leads, collars, food, toys or other aids or devices shall be permitted on the course at any time, except as provided for in Chapter 10 when Intro Program classes are offered, or in Chapter 8 when Junior Handler Program classes are offered. Statement of Responsibility Competitors alone are responsible for the behavior of themselves, their dogs, children, and guests. A competitor whose dogs, children or guests create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Organizing Committee, be asked to leave the test site. Policy on Fault Limits In the event of a larger entry, fault limits may be set at the discretion of the Organizing Committee and/or Judge without pre-event notice. Spam Blocker Confirmations will be sent via email using the secretary's address. If you have a spam blocker on your email account, please configure it to allow email from the secretary's address since confirmations will be sent from this account. Fix & Continue Will Be Allowed At This Event The USDAA Policy Statement on Training in the Ring or "Fix & Continue" has been adopted for this event and is hereby incorporated in its entirety by reference. Competitors are expected to familiarize themselves with this policy, which can be found on the USDAA web site at http://usdaa.com/binary/files http://usdaa.com/binary/files/20180828fixandcontinuepolicy.pdf. Fix & Continue during a competition run generally provides for repeat of an obstacle at handler's discretion under conditions set forth in the Policy Statement. When discretion is exercised to utilize the Fix & Continue, their score will be recorded as an elimination and the maximum course time set to 60 seconds. This practice may be utilized only once in any Standard, Jumpers, or Relay class (including similarly-styled tournament classes at qualifying events). The competitor must continue working the course in flow, while "fixing" and "continuing" on the course. See the Policy Statement referenced above for complete details. Class Descriptions Titling Class Rules & Descriptions One or more titling classes shall be held at this Event from those described in Chapters 3-8 of USDAA Official Rules & Regulations, which are downloadable from www.usdaa.com/rulesreg_ebook.cfm, and any amendments there to, which are downloadable from www.usdaa.com/rulesreg.cfm, each of which are hereby incorporated by reference. Mixed-Height Pairs Entry Allowed Dogs entered as partners in pairs relay at this event may be combined without regard to jump height, i.e. a mini dog may be entered as a partner with an open dog. Any pair consisting of at least one open dog must qualify in accordance with the QCT set forth by the judge of record for Open Pairs AND will be considered an open pair for placement purposes. Tournament Class Rules & Descriptions One or more tournament classes are being held at this event, the rules and description of which may be downloaded on the Internet at www.usdaa.com/gen_formdoc.cfm, and are hereby incorporated by reference. A written copy may be obtained from the Event secretary. Masters Challenge Biathlon - Concurrent Titling Scores The Masters Challenge (MC) & Performance Masters Challenge(PMC) Biathlon tournaments each consists of two classes; Standard and Jumpers. In addition to the combined score of these two classes being scored for tournament qualification purposes, each class will be scored independently in order to determine if title qualification has been earned for the MC and PMC standard and jumpers classes. See complete biathlon tournament rules and title qualification rules at http://usdaa.com/rulesreg_ebook.cfm. Team & Versatility Pairs Measure-up Policy

The handler of a dog entered in Team or Versatility Pairs must notify the secretary immediately should their dog be required to jump a higher height by virtue of the judge's measurement. The dog must jump the higher jump height in order to be eligible to earn a qualifying score in the tournament. If entered in Team, the dog that measured up may be moved to Versatility Pairs. If the handler chooses not to have their dog jump the higher height or move to PVP, their entry is effectively withdrawn. The competitor may or may not run for exhibition only (earning no individual class qualifications or tournament qualification for the team) solely at the discretion of the event secretary; there shall be no refund of fees paid. If the change in height makes the dog ineligible for their team (three jump heights), the secretary will make every effort to form complete teams from dogs available. A move-up in height for dogs in Versatility Pairs does not affect their team composition, but may result in a change in their position in the running order because of the height composition of the Pair. Team Relay Limit In the event of a large entry, the club reserves the right to limit the Team Relay to the top 75% of teams. Veterans Program Classes Veterans level classes offered at this event are open to a competitor with any dog that is at least eight (8) years of age as of the first day of this event. Previous experience in the sport sufficient to establish proficiency and confidence in performance is strongly encouraged. A dog entered in a Veterans class on a day may not be entered in that class in the Championship or Performance Programs. Complete program rules can be found at www.usdaa.com/rulesreg_ebook.cfm including amendments which are downloadable from www.usdaa.com/rulesreg.cfm Intro Program Classes The Intro Program is designed to help new competitors measure their progress in training and to acclimate to the fundamental elements in dog agility competition. Competitors with dogs that are at least fourteen (14) months of age and have not earned a title in the Championship, Performance or Veterans programs are eligible unless entered in the same class on the same day at the event in the Championship, Performance or Veterans programs when Intro Classes are offered at a regular event. Obstacle standards shall be the same as in the Starters Class with exceptions noted in Chapter 10 of the regulations, as amended. See http://usdaa.com/rulesreg_ebook.cfm on USDAA's web site for details, which are incorporated here by reference. Performance standards for the Intro Program Classes are the same as in the Starters level except as modified by special rules for each class as detailed in Chapter 10. Qualifications earned are accumulated toward title certification in each class - Standard, Jumpers, Gamblers and Snooker - and overall for a versatility title. A competitor who is otherwise not eligible under the regulations for entry to the Intro Program for titling purposes may enter the Intro Classes for exhibition only ("FEO") at the clubs option, provided they are not also entered in the same class type in another program (i.e., Championship, Performance or Veterans). An FEO round is ineligible for qualification, prizes and awards. Non-audible toys held in hand may be utilized in an FEO round. The FEO competitor may opt to run the course utilizing regulation A-frame heights as provided in Chapter 10 of the regulations, as amended July 1, 2016, for the Intro Program. See http://usdaa.com/rulesreg_ebook.cfm on USDAA's web site for details, which are incorporated here by reference. See entry form for details regarding jump / A-frame heights offered and FEO availability. Misc. Gamblers Class Rules This class immediately follows a Gamblers titling class but is offered for NON-TITLING purposes as an opportunity for handlers and dogs to acquire training time in a trial environment. The dog may be entered at any of the regulation heights (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, 24), however if the entered height is different than any of the titling or tournament classes in which the dog is entered, then a separate entry form must be used to indicate the desired height. No spreads or long jumps will be used in the course design. The following obstacle settings apply: -The A-frame is 5'0 for dogs jumping 8" and 5'6" for all other heights. -There is no table used in Gamblers. As offered at this trial, the course design is similar to (and may, in fact, be identical to) the previously run Gamblers course design. The opening will have a number of obstacles arranged as in the previous Gamblers class. An opening time will be assigned by the judge; it will be based on the opening time for the Starters Gamblers class. The Maximum Course Time (MCT) will be double the opening time plus 10 seconds. The second portion of the course, the gamble, will include up to 4 numbered obstacles as in the previous Gamblers course. They will be ordered along one side of a taped line on the ground, which denotes the handler s area. The handler must remain behind this taped line while sending the dog through the numbered obstacles to complete the gamble. The handler may not cross the line at all! This portion is also timed; the judge will inform competitors of the gamble time determined by the dogs heights at the pre-run briefing. Dog and handler must set up before the start obstacle. Time begins when the dog passes the plane of the start obstacle. The handler may then choose to either direct the dog to run all or parts of the course design or may proceed immediately to those obstacles on which they wish to train. The run is concluded when the dog performs the designated finish obstacle or when the MCT is reached. There can only be one entry per dog per class. No food is allowed and only toys that do not make a noise will be allowed in the ring. Please know that only positive training methods will be allowed and any action by a handler that may be construed to be harsh or abusive shall be strictly prohibited, and any such incident shall result in immediate dismissal from the ring and shall be subject to disciplinary actions pursuant to Appendix C of the USDAA Official Rules & Regulations. A judge or designated club representative will monitor the class. The monitor may step in and halt the run or direct the handler to attempt a different obstacle if it is apparent the dog has had no prior significant training experience with an obstacle being attempted.

Misc Standard Class Rules This class immediately follows a standard titling class but is offered for NON-TITLING purposes as an opportunity for handlers and dogs to acquire training time in a trial environment. The dog may be entered at any of the regulation heights (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 22, 24); however, if the entered height is different than any of the titling or tournament classes in which the dog is entered, then a separate entry form must be used to indicate the desired height. No spreads or long jumps will be used in the course design. The following obstacle settings apply: - The A-frame is 5'0 for dogs jumping 8" and 5'6" for all other heights. - The table is 12" for all dogs jumping 14" or less, 16" for dogs jump 20" or less, and 24" for all other heights. As offered at this trial, the course design is similar to (and may, in fact, be identical to) the previous standard course design. It will have a numbered sequence that is measured in order to calculate the Standard Course Time (SCT). This calculated SCT applies to all heights and is based on the 12" times for the Starters standard class, i.e. 2.00 yards per second, not to exceed 60 seconds. The Maximum Course Time (MCT) will be double the SCT for the class. Prizes & Awards Prizes & Awards Competitors must be present following the class in which an award is earned in order to claim prizes and awards. All prizes and awards must be claimed during the trial weekend. Ribbons will not be mailed after the event. TITLING CLASSES Championship and Performance 1st-4th ribbons in each jump height for all classes. Pairs will be awarded 1st-4th in mini and open divisions. Rosettes will be awarded for all qualifing scores. TOURNAMENTS Grand Prix/Performance Grand Prix 1st-4th ribbons in each jump height along with qualifying ribbons for a qualifying score. First place qualifiers will receive a regional bye voucher. Steeplechase & Speed Jumping Special qualifying ribbons will be awarded in Round 1.
