The Lost Coast H O W L E R April 2018 Editor: Tina Moulton www.lostcoastkc.org www.facebook.com/lostcoastkennelclub PO Box 6808, Eureka, CA 95502-6808 LCKC BOARD OF DIRECTORS Officers: LINDA BERGSTROM President JILL OTTO Vice President KRIS SMITH Secretary PATTY MENDES Treasurer Members of the Board: Sara Borok Cathy Wright Debbie Tull Next meeting: Tuesday, April 17th at the The Clubhouse at The Meadows (Address is at bottom of page) Join Us! Everyone is welcome! BOARD MEETING 6:30 PM REGULAR MEETING 7:OO PM Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, alternating between the Adorni Center in Eureka 1011 Waterfront Drive, in odd numbered months and at The Clubhouse at The Meadows, 2520-90 Hubbard Lane, Eureka in even numbered months. No meeting in December. President s Corner Oh, hi, your President is not entirely sane at the moment. Turns out sleep deprivation takes a greater toll as you get older. Who knew? I am crazy over the moon delighted to report that I am dogless no longer, and a merciless fluffy little tyrant has entirely stolen my heart and taken over my life. I promise to be more effective at, you know, pretty much everything once I'm sleeping through the night again or at least mostly through or at least most of the nights. (That does happen eventually, right? I remember that correctly, yes? One lives on faith and puppy snuggles. Fortunately they both have great power.) Carrying an item over from last month: We still have some tasks for the summer show that need volunteers. If you can spare a bit of time between now and the show and most especially during the show and the days immediately surrounding it we would love to hear from you! To find out more, come to any club meeting, or to any Event Team meeting; or you can contact Show Chair Cathy Wright (cathlynwright@hotmail.com) or myself (lcbergstrom@gmail.com) and we'll hook you up. Many thanks to everyone who stepped forward with award sponsorships! Y'all rock. As always, keep an eye on LCKC e-mails as they roll into your Inbox for more information and specific updates and requests. Linda LCKC_Apr_2018 1
Have you heard? From Linda Bergstrom: I am thrilled and delighted beyond measure by the addition to my household of Captain Wigglebutt on Monument Mountain, a Miniature American Shepherd puppy bred by LCKC member Beverly Chang who will co-own him with me. Captain is destined not only for the conformation ring but also scent work, rally, obedience, barn hunt, tracking, and if all works out well, eventually certification as my diabetic alert Service Dog. He is an energetic, intrepid ball of mischief and joy, ready to make friends with the world and explore every corner of it. Socialization opportunities welcome! From Marilyn Cottrell: Bayley my silly goose got her Novice Tricks Title at HumDogs on April 16 th. Yay! LCKC_Apr_2018 2

Toy and Non Sporting each need one Group sponsor, plus some smaller ones. Suggestion to include the amounts of the sponsorships on the request letter. It would be nice to include a photo of the winner on the thank-you letters.
