Therapy Dog, Incorporated testing will be held on Thursday, March 20th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd from 9 AM to 11 AM. All testing will be held at BSA. Please see attached map. Park in lot C and enter at door #25, nearest handicap parking near HR. There will be signs posted. Those interested in testing their dog need to bring: current rabies certificate (tag is not enough), current clear fecal test (within the last year), four foot leash (not chain or flexi), collar for your dog (no prong collars allowed) and of course your dog! Dogs must be over one year of age and you must have the dog in your home for three months prior to testing. You may go to the TDInc website and download the test. I think of it more of an evaluation of how you and your dog work together. Contact Arliss Johnson at arliss79106@yahoo.com if you have any questions. See Map on page 9 of this newsletter.
Page 2 Tag Tag was the bottom dog in our family. She always deferred to the other dogs even new puppies. She drank water after all the others finished and she let any dog or puppy have her toys. To train her I had to adapt my attitude and many of my training techniques. She responded by becoming not only the most reliable dog I have trained, but also, the best companion and partner one could want. I learned more about dog training from her than any skills she learned from me. Tag earned a MACH4 a PACH and a TQX (the hardest title I have ever earned). Between her MACH3 and Mach4 she had only two non-qualifying scores and both were the result of my mistakes. One of her greatest honors was being inducted into the Golden Retriever Club of America s Hall of Fame. Training her was even more fun than showing her and she could become quite a pest if the sun was setting and we had not gone outside to train yet that day. At about 4 o clock on Monday before our February club meeting I trained all of our dogs in some group games that they like to play. She was eager, happy, and her normal self in every way. At 6 she could not get up to eat. I think that it is a blessing that she died very quickly and lived longer than all but one of our other dogs, however, as most of you know, it still hurts to lose such a close companion. Janet and I buried her close to Presto and Twist the afternoon of our club meeting. Buzz and Wrigley were absolutely the best thing for me that night. Happiness really is a warm puppy. Thanks Teresa and Carol. I know it is not likely but wouldn t it be great if the rainbow bridge story is true. Fortunately, I have many wonderful memories of Tag. Janet and I will miss her forever. ~ Joe

Our time together was very precious but far too brief. ~ Andrea "It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be Dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." ~ author unknown
Page 4 Arliss Johnson & Ivy All I know is that I will never have another weekend like this one. Take three border terriers (two belonging to my friend from CO) and go to the Wichita Falls obedience trial. What do you get????? Three bt's entered in three shows gives you nine entries. That leads to nine qualifying scores and nine placements. That equals three titles and one very tired handler (me). In the picture L to R are: Mika (Ivy's aunt) BN, Tango (Ivy's son) BN and Ivy CD. ~ Arliss
