Please have your transfer form prepared if title is earned in trial 1. TRANSFERS Transfers WILL be allowed. For same day transfers the request for a transfer must be in writing on a transfer form, and presented to the Trial Secretary or Trial Secretary Steward as soon as the qualifying run is completed. Please follow directions from the Trial Secretary or Trial Secretary Steward for new queue location which will be changed on the RUN ORDER display board for Trial 2 when the written request is received. Transfers from day1 to day2 must be presented in writing on a TRANSFER FORM 30 min prior to the start of the trial, provided the next level class and judge are available and the class has not reached its limit. Please contact the Trial Secretary, Trial Secretary Steward or CHECK IN station for a transfer form. Transfer forms can also be downloaded from AKC.org (sports & events/ downloadable forms/scentwork). DOG ELIGIBLE TO ENTER AGE: This trial is open to all dogs SIX (6) months of age or older. REGISTRATION: Dogs must be registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP), an AKC Canine Partners listing number or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds are eligible to participate. Dogs with PAL/ILP, Canine Partners must be spayed or neutered in order to compete. Dog refers to both sexes. HEALTH: Dogs with physical challenges (including amputees, deafness and blindness) are eligible to participate based upon the opinion of the judge. Dogs with physical injury (including mental or physical illness, sutures and bandages) and females in season may NOT participate. Aggressive dogs may not participate. TITLE: Dogs entering upper level searches must hold the title in prior level class. Three qualifying scores are required to earn a title. WAIT LIST INFORMATION OTCPBC is offering a wait list to fill openings created by withdrawn entries after the trial s closing date/time. A maximum of 25 entries per day will be placed on the club's wait list. All entries, including wait listed entries, must be received by the Trial Secretary prior to Wednesday, January 2, 2019 8:00 pm. No entries may be withdrawn with a refund after closing on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 8:00pm unless a withdrawn entry is replaced by a wait listed entry. Any wait listed entry that does not move off the wait list into the trial will receive a full refund. TRIAL INFORMATION Exhibitors MUST check-in EACH day they are entered. EXHIBITOR CHECK-IN: At check-in you will receive your armband number. Once the time and location for check-in is determined all exhibitors will be notified by email. WARM UP AREA will consist of one container of each odor being tested at the trial and may consist of blank containers. Please limit warm-up to 2 minutes. No elimination or training in the warm up area. Judges are not required to wait for dogs. The Owner of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at the search area when it is to be judged. The club is not responsible for locating late dogs. Collars, Leashes and Harnesses. While not actively searching, dogs MUST be curbed to a 6 leash or shorter. Dogs must be on leash or securely crated at all times. During searches, the judge will determine leash use. Collars and leashes shall meet requirements set forth in the rules for scent work. Go Pro is allowed attached to a harness, retractable leashes allowed only during searches. ADDITIONAL SITE INFORMATION Trial Site. It is not appropriate to visit the trial location prior to the trial date. Many search locations are real-life environments and such visits may risk the host losing the opportunity to use the location in the future. Possession of Odors and Training. Chapter 5. Section 26 of the Scent Work Regulations state only the trial administrator will have scent/odor at the trial site. There shall be no training on the grounds of the AKC Scent Work trial. Spectator Area. Spectators are encouraged. Any person not handling a dog in the current class, or any person who has already completed their run in the class may choose to watch the search from the DESIGNATED spectator area. Only Handler Discrimination classes can be watched by anyone. No one outside the search area may assist the handler or disclose the location of the hide. Spectators who intentionally or unintentionally give aid to a team may be asked to leave the area by the judge. Spectators are forbidden to discuss details of the search with handlers who have not run. Spectators should not cheer or applaud until the team is leaving the search area once the judge indicates the search is completed. Crating: Participants are required to crate at their vehicles. Please be aware of the weather on the trial date. Dogs must be leashed with leash in hand, or securely crated at all times. Handlers are recommended to determine the safety of dog/dog interaction or contact and will be held responsible for their conduct during trial hours. Clean up: Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Event Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Please use the pea gravel elimination area. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS SAFETY, BEHAVIOR and LIABILITY The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all searches safely. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the trial committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The Obedience Training Club of Palm Beach County (OTCPBC) and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. OTCPBC reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against OTCPBC or any official thereof. REFUNDS No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the Trial Committee. Dogs pulled after closing because of injury or other medical condition are NOT eligible for a refund. Bitches in season WILL be refunded the full entry fee. Notification in writing must be given to the trial secretary no later than one half hour PRIOR to the start of the first class of the day of the trial. Claims will be arbitrated as set forth on the Official AKC Entry Form for this event. I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND THE EVENT-GIVING CLUB (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN THIS PREMIUM LIST) AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INTERPRETATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION.
