No judges sub-committees are permitted nor are colour & standards committees permitted. The members at general meetings decide ALL THINGS Budgies are not to be wrong-classed; the stewards are to move birds to the correct classes prior to judging. If this is not possible, the bird is to remain in its class but be penalised appropriately. 1. EYES To be bright and clear. Any directional feather that impedes vision is to be penalised. 2. MASK SPOTS To be Clear, wide and deep where demanded by the standard. Six evenly round spaced throat spots. The outer two to be partially covered by the cheek patch. 11. IDEAL LENGTH To be 71/2 inches or 188 mm. This is not the major concern. Balance is the priority. With the IDEAL LENGTH being the challenge. 12. COLOUR As per the variety standard and even in shade. JUDGES Will be voted on by the members each year and included in the list or deleted as the membership decides. Our system is that the members vote to approve probationary judges. Once a probationary judge has judged at a show, the members can, at any time, decide to appoint him or her as a senior judge for 12 months. All judges, probationary or senior are required to be re-approved every 12 months. If the members don't approve of a judge's judging, he or she will go back to probationary judge or lose their judge's status altogether ( this is done for many reasons, but primarily to stop judges' drift towards extremes). To facilitate all of this, monthly meetings at designated times will be so that judging can be monitored and voted upon. No affiliation with any other judging group outside the MBSA unless voted on by the members will be undertaken. Members will have all the say in the Way they want the club to be run. RINGS A Correctly marked ring from any club is allowed. NOTE The MBSA has slightly smaller rings available. Only young birds need to be rung with the current year colour closed ring. They must have been bred by the exhibitor. Old birds do not need to be rung at all, nor do they need to have been bred by the exhibitor. CAGES Any sort of show cage is acceptable. They must be clean and presentable. Budgerigar seed mix on the floor with a water drinker attached inside for al l day shows. Table or club night shows, clean white paper on the floor cut to size.
