AGSC 2302 -Principles of Effective Technology Use in Agricultural Science Covers the processes by which professional agriculturalists and communicators influence the introduction, adoption and diffusion of agricultural technology. AGSC 2303 - Welding and Metalwork

This course serves as an introductory course for welding and metalworking. The course lecture and laboratory will present the student with basic knowledge and fundamentals of welding and metalwork. Importance of safety within agricultural mechanics settings will also underlie course content and design. AGSC 3303 - Mechanical Systems Management in Agriculture Teachers of agricultural science need the basic principles of internal combustion engine theory and operation. Emphasis will be on small gas power plants for ag and non-ag systems. AGSC 3313 - Management of Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs Teachers of agricultural science and cooperative extension agents need an understanding of the skills needed to successfully manage and supervise agricultural experience programs conducted through the FFA and youth projects in 4-H. This course is designed to provide the theory and application for working with youth in the selection, management, and record keeping procedures used with SAEP's and youth projects. AGSC 3331 - Agriculture Youth Leadership Organizations This course will provide future agricultural educators with a comprehensive overview of the components of an Agricultural Education program including the application of leadership principles with an emphasis on teaching elements of the National FFA & 4-H Organizations, interpersonal and personal skills and Leadership Development Events in a high school setting. AGSC 4304 - Methods of Teaching Agriculture Science Teachers of agricultural science and cooperative extension agents need an understanding of the foundation upon which effective teaching is built. This course is designed to provide the theory and application for effective teaching in secondary programs of agriculture science. AGSC 4308 -Agricultural Buildings and Environmental Control Determining agricultural building requirements, materials, design, and construction. Includes construction, tools and equipment, framing, environmental control, and necessary utilities. AGSC 4391 - Undergraduate Agricultural Science Research Supervise and assist undergraduate students with independent projects to broaden their individual knowledge within the field of Ag Science. ASCI 4342 - Sheep and Goat Science Covers the principles and fundamentals of the sheep and goat industry as well as all basic and pertinent scientific data surrounding subjects involved in the production of sheep and goats. ASCI 4343 - Beef Cattle Production To develop processes by which students are able to integrate management components into decision-making so as to optimize production while maximizing economic return to the production system. Emphasis will be placed on problem-solving techniques when possible. Students will obtain a perspective of the total beef cattle industry from a commercial cattle producer's viewpoint. Graduate Courses AGSC 6300 - Technology Transfer and Leadership This course is designed to explore the factors underlying the adoption of innovations by social actors and how these innovations change social structures from a community to a global basis. As such, students will complete this course with an enhanced understanding of how profoundly different scientific and technological developments affect society. ASCI 6335 - Current Issues in Animal Agriculture Course facilitates discussion on current technological, societal, economic and environmental issues facing the industry. Covers vital scientific data on a variety of subjects Discusses and applies a variety of skills and theories on how to deal with controversial topics within agriculture. ASCI 6345 - Advanced Beef Cattle Production

Allows graduate students to develop processes by which students are able to integrate management components into decision-making so as to optimize production while maximizing economic return to the production system. Emphasis will be placed on problem-solving techniques when possible. Students will obtain a perspective of the total beef cattle industry from a commercial cattle producer's viewpoint.
