NEXT BOD MEETING will be April 5, 2016 at 6:30 Board of Directors Meeting March 1, 2016 Monthly Board Meeting Minutes Board Members in attendance: President Donald Rogus, Vice President Bobbie Kroetch, Treasurer Sharon Heckman, Secretary Ruth Ann Phillips, Obedience Director Ashley Suttles, Agility Director Jane Neave, and Activities Director Melanie Beck. Meeting called to order at 6:02. Guest: Debbie Snyder, Taila Lewis and Debbi Morgan. Jane made the motion to approve the February 2016 minutes as emailed. Bobbie Debbie Snyder presented information about bringing Connie Cleveland to the WDTC for an obedience seminar Feb18th and 19 th in 2017. Bobbie made the motion to approve getting Connie Cleveland s obedience seminar for WDTC on February 18 th and 19 th. Jane Sharon will give Debbie a $300.00 check for a non-refundable deposit to secure the dates for the seminar. Photo Group is requesting $202.10 for rental of 2 camera lenses for the Sunflower Cluster Obedience Trial and Whitewater Agility Trials. Also requesting purchase of a network storage system and wireless router. The network storage and router will allow for easier photo management and ordering during trials and photo events. Bobby made the motion to approve $202.10 for lenses rental and not to exceed $400.00 + shipping and tax for network storage and router. Jane Funds will be used from the profit that the photo group has made from photo sales. The following are open positions for WDTC Club: Fundraising chairman, Canine Activities Chairman, which was previously Tracking Seminar Chair, and Pet Therapy Chairman. Added Position is the Publicity and Marketing Committee. 1

Bobbie moved that we expand canine activities and class chair. Jane seconded. Motion carried. Publicity and Marketing committee would get event information in newspaper and advertisements. The following are motions made and approved by the board between meetings and additional information. February 4 th Jane moved that we purchase two additional trial tunnels, one 15 and one 20 both yellow for an amount not to exceed $700.00 + shipping. Ruth Ann seconded. Motion carried. Ruth Ann will bring the tunnels back from nationals to save on shipping. February 11 th Ruth Ann made the motion to purchase a second set of agility ring number cones. Jane February 16 th Jane proposed that WDTC allow Ashley to audit the Bridgett Carlson seminar free of charge. The purpose of Ashley attending the seminar is to create class content or workshops for the competition exercises in the future. Ruth Ann seconded. Motion carried. Tina Nye has made a $90.00 donation to the club in the name of her father in law, William Nye who loved Patches and is with her now at the Rainbow Bridge. Sharon asked that anyone having questions about financial reports to get in contact with her. Jane Neave spoke of upcoming agility trials for 2016 and the challenges of not having local facilities. A new agility 2 X 2 weave pole class will be scheduled in the fall. The club will purchase a set of 2 X 2 s, Susan Garrett DVD which will be available to members. Class will consist of 2 short classes per week. The following descriptions to the bylaws have been changed to read as follows: The Agility Director, with input and assistance from the agility committee, shall be responsible for scheduling and instructing agility classes and practice sessions as well as maintaining the agility equipment. Agility Trial Committee Description Per By-Laws A new agility trial committee is established for each new agility trial. The Agility Director is responsible for appointing volunteers to the committee positions. The agility committee is responsible for coordinating all of the necessary functions of each agility trial. Agility Committee Per Committee Description on Membership Application The agility committee is a loose knit group of members who indicate on their applications that they are interested in agility. An email list of all of those members shall be kept by the Agility Director. The list will be used to notify members of anything that pertains to agility. Jane Neave made the motion to accept the above and changed information. Melanie Ashley Suttles spoke about obedience seminars and classes. Requesting more volunteers to help teach and assist in classes. Obedience Committee Description: The Obedience Committee will consist of Wichita Dog Training Club members that have an interest in the direction and activities of Obedience within The Club. This committee will serve to advise the Obedience Director on various topics such as trials, matches, classes, seminars, and equipment needs. Ashley made the motion to accept the above description. Doralyn seconded. Motion carried. 5

Bobbie made the motion to establish a Publicity and Marketing Committee. Deb Legge The new proposed #1 option (see attached at end of minutes) motion carried. Club membership voted 18 in favor, 6 opposed. Additional gravel will be added to grounds parking lot, east side of building and behind the trailer. Donald said there are 11 spots that need to be repaired in the fence which take place at the Saturday work day Following members were in attendance.
