Entries must be marked as eligible to compete in the AKC NOHS prior to the closing of entries for that show. The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC s records as of the date of the show. Professional handler, household members and current assistants to professional handlers in conformation are not eligible to exhibit in this competition. A current assistant is defined as any employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. Current assistants that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship (meet age and amateur status requirements) may participate in NOHS. Professional handler is defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition. Eligibility restriction apply to all members of the same household. -6-
NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. A recording fee of.50 cents per dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class at the show, the fees are to be collected on the first entry only. 2. Entries must reach show secretary, Kathy Hand, 315 S. 163 rd St., Gilbert, Az., 85296, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 9:00 PM MST. Fees must accompany entries. 3. The club and/or Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. 4. The club and/or the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agents entering a dog in a class which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 5. There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry. 6. Foreign exhibitors must submit entries with checks drawn on U.S. accounts or with international money orders in U.S. funds. 7. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event the dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Bench Show Committee. 8. Entry fees will NOT be refunded if it is impossible to open or complete the show because of riots, civil disturbance, fires, an act of God, public emergency, acts of public enemy, or other acts or cause beyond the control of the club. 9. Mid-Arizona Shetland Sheepdog Club, Inc. may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other cause, and no one shall have any claim against the Club or any official thereof. 10. Returned checks or post dated checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee of $35.00 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitor will result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 11. Entries not on official AKC Entry forms and photocopies of entry forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are not acceptable. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies a condition to acceptance. 12. Owners are to have their dogs ready to go into the ring promptly, so judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only to be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. Owners of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor any agent of the showgiving club to locate any dog, its owner or handler. Waiting for dogs is a courtesy extended to owners and handlers. There is no American Kennel Club or club rule requiring a judge to wait for an owner or handler to Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. 13. Owners must familiarize themselves with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. Rule books may be obtained from A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27606. 14. The club, its Show Secretary or their employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other cause and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at these shows is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 15. Mid-Arizona Shetland Sheepdog Dog, Inc. does not agree to arbitrate claims set forth on official AKC entry form for this event. 16. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest judging at the Show. 19. There is no provision offered for unentered dogs at this show. PUPPIES UNDER SIX MONTHS OF AGE ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM ENTRY INTO THE BUILDING. 21. Trophies, prizes and cash will be awarded in the judging ring before the completion of the classes and breed to the person showing the dog. The Show Secretary is to be advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. The Secretary and the Mid-Arizona Shetland Sheepdog Dog, Inc. disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. All trophies must be claimed the day of show. None will be mailed. 22. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. All persons attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against the club, its members or agents in the event a vehicle must be entered in order to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. 23. THIS IS A SELF CLEANING SHOW. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG 24. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly understood that the exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children at all times. 25. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. 26. Due to confined spaces, flexi-leads are not allowed in the buildings. -7-
