Once the draw is conducted, we will be moving around the campus. LIMITATIONS ON ENTRIES and SPECIAL NOTICES to EXHIBITORS Entries close Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. Entries cannot be accepted, canceled or substituted after the closing date and time. Entry is limited to AKC registered dogs six months of age or older who have earned a TD. This Variable Surface Tracking Test is limited to eight (8) dogs. V.S.T. dogs will not be barred from competition, but dogs not having earned their V.S.T. will be given preference for entry. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Test Committee. No entry fee will be refunded except that of an alternate who does not participate and whose entry fee will be refunded within seven (7) days following the test; or in the event that a dog is absent by virtue of having earned the VST title after the closing of entries, provided there is a properly entered alternate available to run the track. Bitches in season may compete in accordance with Chapter 2, Section 8 of the AKC Tracking Regulations. The Test Secretary and Judges must be notified prior to the drawing for tracks that a bitch in season is present. The last track shall be reserved for the bitch in season and that dog will be allowed on the tracking field only immediately prior to their running of the track. Houston Obedience Dog Club, Inc., will exercise reasonable care for the safety of dogs competing, but will not be responsible for loss or damage or injury to any dog, handler or property. Only dogs that are entered in this test will be allowed on premises. Dogs will be required, at all times, to be on leash or crated. The health and safety of dogs and participants is of paramount importance. This test may be canceled in the event of extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, extreme heat or hurricanes. In accordance with AKC Tracking Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 12, entries in this test will be accepted up to the official closing date, even though the advertised limit has been reached. A random drawing to determine which entries will participate in the test will be held at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, December 20, 2018, at 2031 Woodvine Dr., Houston, TX. This drawing will be conducted by the Test Secretary according to the procedures in the AKC Tracking Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 12. When the advertised limit has been drawn, all remaining entries, subject to the same preferences set forth above, shall be similarly drawn and assigned a position on the Alternates List. The Secretary shall then notify all entries of the results of the drawing. In the event an accepted entry cancels following the closing of entries, the Secretary shall contact alternates according to their placement on the Alternates List. Upon such notification, alternates shall be given the option of accepting or refusing the opportunity to participate in the test. In the event an accepted entry is absent on the day of the test, it shall be the responsibility of the Test Secretary to determine if alternates are present and to determine, by their position on the Alternates List, which of the alternates shall participate. The assignment of dogs to the tracks, by the drawing of lots, is the responsibility of the judges. No videotaping of this event will be allowed except with prior permission of the Test Secretary, Judges, and Exhibitors.
