Awards of Merit (Saturday 7; Sunday 5) The judge may, at his or her discre on, recall into the ring those dogs and/or bitches from the total Best of Breed compe on that the judge believes are worthy of final considera on for Best of Breed and present Awards of Merit to recognize the quali es of those animals. Best Bred By Exhibitor Compe on (Saturday) For winners of the Bred By Exhibitor Dog and Bitch classes. Non-Regular Classes Involving single dog entries (eligible for Best of Breed) (Classes provided for Dogs & Bitches) Herding Titled Champion Class For Dogs or Bitches that have earned an AKC Championship and an AKC herding tle. The following tles do not apply: Ins nct Test cer ficate and any other non AKC tle. This class is offered only at the Na onal Specialty (Saturday). Champions may compete, if they are within the age limits. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry in Veteran Classes. This class is offered at both special es (Na onal and Sunday). Veteran 7 years & Under 10 years Veteran 10 years & Over Any undefeated dogs that have competed at the show only in addi onal non regular classes may compete for Best of Breed. AKC champions of record may be entered in these classes. Non-Regular Classes (Involving Mul ple Dog Entries, Na onal Specialty Only) Stud Dog Class is for Stud Dogs and at least two (2) but no more than four (4) of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The Stud Dog cannot be shown as the Get for another Stud Dog. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be the owner of Get. Offspring only to be judged based on their merits. Each dog making up the Get must be individually entered in one of the Regular Conforma on Classes, Best of Breed Compe on or a Non Regular Conforma on Class (other than the Stud Dog Class) at this show. Brood Bitch Class same as for Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get where appropriate. A castrated male may be entered as the Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as the Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, none of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION For National & Parent Club Specialties Classes Divided by Age Novice Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Novice Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Open Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Open Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Novice Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Open Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. Guest Rules Building Hours Show Hours: 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Events Center will be available to vendors at noon and exhibitors at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Clean up Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up a er their dogs. This includes properly disposing of waste and using designated relief areas and the public x pen area on the East side of the Gateway Hall for all elimina on needs. Designated sta ons throughout the facility should be used appropriately (i.e. watering sta on should not be used for waste or other materials) RV Lots RV Parking: Purina Farms charges a fee for camping. Please check the policies and reserva on form on the BCSA website, and make your RV parking reserva ons through BCSA. RVs must be removed from the show site on Monday, September 12, 2016 by noon. No reserved vehicle parking. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. No spaces will be reserved or saved with traffic cones, ex pens or any other equipment. Everyone must follow the instruc ons of the Grounds Commi ee. All RV exhibitors are asked to check in upon their arrival with a club member. Show grounds open at noon or 3p.m. on the designated set up day for the event depending on what is reflected in the rental contract. Any RVs arriving before that me will have to park in an open spot in the overflow RV lot or at the Outdoor Agility Field. Quiet hours are from 11p.m. 6a.m. No RVs may move during designated quiet hour. Only cars (max of 2) affiliated with the RVs parked in the spots will be allowed to park in the same spot in the RV lot. Any cars not affiliated with the RVs in the spots will be asked to move or be towed at the owner s expense. In case of a medical emergency in the RV lot in the evening or a er hours, exhibitors needing medical a en on should leave the lights on their RVs allowing the response team to easily iden fy the appropriate vehicle. If you choose to grill near your camper, then please let the coals burn out overnight, bag them the next day and put them in a trash barrel. For safety reasons, no campfires are allowed on the property. In case of inclement weather, see the inclement weather procedures sec on of the rules. Vehicles Exhibitors may not bring or use motorized vehicles on the property unless a medical condi on requires the use of one. Documenta on must be presented upon request by Purina Farms staff. All exhibitors must abide by the 15 minute unloading/loading parking me limit designated around the Purina Event Center Supplies Duct tape may not be used in the building. Only painter s tape and gaffer s tape can be used on the floor and walls of the facility. General No helium balloons in either Hall. Balloons can be used in the Founder s Room for special events (with approval from the Director of Purina Farms). No gli er or confe allowed in the facility. Alcohol may not be brought to the Purina Farms Visitor Center. Any excep ons need to be preapproved by Purina Farms management. Purina Farms is a family friendly property and public intoxica on is prohibited. No exercise pens allowed around the front and back of the Purina Event Center or the grassy area adjacent to the East side of the Gateway Hall. Overall, exercise pens around the perimeter of the en re building are strongly discouraged. Any exercise pens on designated grassy areas should not have a flooring/covering to prevent damage to the grass. All veterinary exams, tests, and medical procedures must take place only in the Service Center. All exhibitors and their dogs must remain on the part of the property owned by Purina Farms. Trespassing on Purina Animal Nutri on property is forbidden. Purina Farms and Purina Animal Nutri on are not affiliated. Property map showing divisions can be provided upon request. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all mes, when on the grounds (including the Purina Farms Visitor Center and especially on the balcony at the Purina Event Center). Exhibitors accept personal liability with respect to any claim made in respect to any damage or injury caused by their dog/s or dogs in their possession. No selling of puppies or dogs on the premises. Smoking, including the use of electronic cigare es, is prohibited in buildings. No hun ng, tent camping or swimming is allowed. Weapons of any kind, illegal drugs and fireworks are not permi ed on the premises. Inclement Weather In the event a severe weather or tornado warning is issued for the immediate area, Site Security will no fy the Purina Farms management team. The team will no fy guests, par cipants and exhibitors of an impending weather event via the public address system and via the storm siren and announcements outside the building. Guests, visitors and exhibitors will be asked to seek cover in designated areas marked as severe weather shelter areas. Designated areas include the center hallway of the Purina Event Center, the inside wall of Gateway Hall and the South stairwell. A er the weather event ends, Purina Farms management teams will announce all clear. If weather is extreme a er hours, then security will unlock the Purina Event Center to allow campers to come into the building with dogs at any me. A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4 6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/ processing fee per entry. No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
