Attention Exhibitors The Show site is available to exhibitors from 3 PM to 6 PM Thursday, September 13, 2018 and after 6 AM on Friday, September 14, 2018. Set up for Three Rivers reserved grooming & free grooming in the Gateway Hall is available Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 3 PM to 6 PM. Set up for Three Rivers reserved grooming in the Great Hall will be available Thursday, September 13, 2018 following the completion of the National Specialties. Dogs and all equipment must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show Judging of the Three Rivers Kennel Club of Missouri show on Sunday, September 16, 2018. A security guard will be in the building overnight on Thursday, Sep 13, Friday, Sep 14 and Sat, Sep 15, so dogs may be left in the Purina Event Center overnight on those evenings. In accordance with AKC policy, each dog that is left in in the facility overnight must be identified with a tag stating the owner/agent name and where they can be reached in case of an emergency. In the event of multiple entries, one tag will be sufficient provided it clearly outlines the number of dogs & the area in which they are crated. A tag will be available at the Superintendent s desk. RV PARKING GUIDELINES There are seventy four RV parking spaces behind the Purina Event Center. The fee for parking is $40.00 per night for full service lot; $25.00 for lower lot. Reservations will be made ONLINE (see RV parking information on Page 8). Overflow parking will be located on the gravel lots above the Main Show Field. All RVs will be REQUIRED to show permit to park. Anyone not displaying required permit will be removed from the show site. THERE WILL BE NO RV PARKING OUTSIDE OF ANY DESIGNATED RV LOT. THREE RIV ERS KENNEL CLUB WILL BE IN CHARGE OF ALL PARKING FOR THIS EVENT. RV reservations will be accepted until the lots are full. Refunds will not be made after entries close on August 29th. PARKING Exhibitor and visitor parking will be located on blacktop parking lots in front of the Purina Event Center. Vehicles are limited to one parking space. No Ex Pens or Crates allowed on blacktop, but are allowed on grass areas. No cones allowed in parking areas. No parking in roadways, next to building or on Grass. The THREE RIVERS KENNEL CLUB OF MISSOURI PARKING COMMITTEE will be in charge of all parking for this event. CRATING & GROOMING Grooming and crating in designated areas only. Reserved Grooming in the Purina Event Center will be 5x10 feet sites with electric on each site. The fee for reserved grooming area is $25.00 for the entire event. Reservations may be made to the Three Rivers Kennel Club of Missouri (see grooming area application on Page 7) There are a limited number of free grooming spaces (no electric) on a first come basis. Chairs will not be allowed in FREE grooming area. Bathing of dogs limited to bathing area, located next to grooming area. No dogs allowed in bathrooms. Dogs may be left in the building overnight Thursday, Sep 13, Friday, Sep 14 and Sat, Sep 15. There will be a Security Guard. The Building will be locked at 10 pm and opened at 6 am. NO CRATES MAY BE PLACED DIRECTLY ON THE FLOORING SURFACE IN THE GREAT HALL. THERE MUST BE PLASTIC OR A RUG UNDER THE CRATE. ALL GROOMING TABLES MUST HAVE RUBBER OF PLASTIC CAPS ON THE END OF THE LEGS OF THE TABLE. No cones are allowed inside building. NO Ex Pens allowed inside building at any time. NO SOFT SIDED CRATES ALLOWED. Please stack your crates and limit number of tables. All vehicles must leave their headlights on while unloading. NEW RV Parking Information PLEASE READ Three Rivers Kennel Club of Missouri welcomes you to Purina Farms. Purina Farms has a great RV area. Please enjoy your stay and the shows. Reservations for RV parking spots at Purina can be made ONLINE for September 9th through 16th. Exhibitors may choose their own RV spot; first come, first served. The Full Service Lot offers water, sewer, and electric and is $40 per night. The Overflow Lot is $25 per night and has electric. You will be contacted by Purina Farms security the minute your spot becomes available. RV CHECK OUT TIME IS 6 P.M. RVs WITHOUT A RESERVATION FOR THE CURRENT NIGHT ARE SUBJECT TO TOWING IF NOT OUT OF THE SPACE BY 6 P.M. There will be NO overnight parking on the holding lots. If you are renting an RV, please be sure to let the company know all RVs without reservations for the night must be out of the lot BEFORE 6 P.M. If you plan to arrive early in the day, please consider reserving the RV space for the previous night to be sure it will be available before 6 P.M. Please Note: Quiet Hours are from 11 PM to 6 AM. RVs may not move in or out during quiet hours. RVs arriving at Purina Farms after 11:00 pm will be escorted to one of the holding lots at the Outdoor Agility Field or the Lower Main Show Field lot. Late arrivals will then be escorted to their reserved RV spots after 6:00 am when Quiet Hours conclude. All RVs will be REQUIRED to display a parking permit which will be handed out to those with reservations. Each camper will receive a 3 part parking tag good for one camper and 2 accompanying vehicles (note that a tow vehicle would be considered one of the 2 accompanying vehicles). The full service Purina Event Center lot tags are red and the overflow lot tags are yellow. The large portion of the tag must be visible inside the camper at all times. The 2 tear off cards should be placed in each of the 2 vehicles accompanying the camper, and must also be visible at all times. Tow vehicle must be disconnected from RVs during your visit. A maximum of 2 cars affiliated with the RV may park in the RV spot. Any vehicle parking in an RV spot and not affiliated with the RV will be asked to move or be towed at the owner s expense. In case of a medical emergency in the RV lot in the evening or during the night, please turn on the RV s outside lights to help responders identify the RV. Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries Stud Dog Class For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered in one of the Regular or Non Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed compe on, but must be entered in the Stud Dog class. The Stud Dog may be entered in the Stud Dog Class only at the regular entry fee. The Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes or, if a Champion of Record, in Best of Breed compe on. The Stud Dog shall be considered one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its disqualifica on or excusal under the dog show rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Brood Bitch Class same as for Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. *Chapter 11, Sec on 8 of the "Rules Applying to Dog Shows" provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed Bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Brace Class A brace is defined as two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs compe ng in brace compe on must have at least one common owner. The dogs comprising a Brace must be named at the me the entry is made and must be entered in another class. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Novice Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Open Junior 9 & under 12 yrs Open Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs Master Class Novice Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. This award was donated by Don and Margaret Nicholls, Lydemoor Field Spaniels, Bristol, England. First offered at the 1992 Na onal Specialty, it is a silver plated 16 oval burgundy tray (value $120). Commemora ve plaques are awarded. TOMMY PERPETUAL TROPHY Offered for the Top Junior Handler handling a Field Spaniel in Junior Showmanship. The Tommy trophy was donated by Calico Field Spaniels, in memory of the consummate juniors dog, Tommy, CH Calico s Pinball Wizard UD, who was loved and shown by Jesse Wolkenheim. The display walnut plaque, engraved each year with the winning junior s name, is offered for the Junior Handler defea ng the most juniors when earning Best Junior Handler or when placing in a Junior Showmanship class at a given show handling a Field Spaniel as published in AKC Awards for calendar year of January 1 through December 31. The Junior Handler need not be a member of FSSA. Commemora ve plaque is awarded. MAYDENE PERPETUAL TROPHY Offered for the Field Spaniel an overseas visitor would most like to take home with him or her. Donated by Phyllis Goodwin in 1995, Maydene Field Spaniels, England, it is a silver plated loving cup trophy on walnut base, to be awarded by an overseas Field Spaniel fancier exhibitor/visitor a ending the FSSA Na onal Specialty show on a basis of observa on at the specialty event. It is to be a fun trophy. The name of the winner is to be kept secret un l announced during the awards presenta ons. The name of the winner and year are engraved on a plate on the trophy base each year that the trophy is awarded. As the trophy offer requires award by an overseas visitor, there may be years in which the trophy is not awarded. In the event that there is more one eligible visitor, the Na onal Specialty Show Commi ee shall choose from among the visitors to adjudicate the trophy. Commemora ve plaques are awarded. The winner will be determined by Top Agility Field Spaniel as published in Front & Finish for the calendar year. At least one co owner of the winning dog must be a club member. Since FSSA already offers awards plaques for this honor, no commemora ves are offered. CH WICKSFORD S A TOUCH OF MAGIC AND CH WICKSFORD S LILLIBET BRACE TROPHY Best Brace Na onal Perpetual Trophy Proposal June and George O Neil and Lori Carver offer this trophy to honor and memorialize the first Field Spaniel Brace to be awarded Best Brace in Show at an all breed show. The trophy will consist of an oval 10 inch silver dish to be mounted on a base. It is to be awarded at the Na onal Specialty Banquet. At this me, no commemora ves will be offered. GUNHILL MEMORIAL CHALLENGE TROPHY (re red 2015) A Challenge Trophy for Best Bred By Exhibitor sponsored by the Sager family. For Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show: the Gunhill Memorial Challenge Trophy, a silver tray, offered through FSSA by the Sager Family, in memory of P. Carl Tu le and his Gunhill Kennels. Will be re red upon a three me win basis. Commemora ve plaques were awarded. JACKEE CHALLENGE TROPHY (re red 2014) For Best of Breed, the Jackee Trophy is a 15X18 walnut plaque, offered by FSSA to the owner(s) of a bitch awarded Best of Breed at its specialty shows only, through the generosity of Suzanne Fernau and Joseph Fleming, Gooseberry, in memory of BISS CH Cotoica s Once Is Not Enough, ROM. CLARA CHALLENGE TROPHY Clara Challenge Trophy offered for the owner or co owners of the Highest Scoring Dog in Regular Classes at the FSSA Na onal Specialty Show. The Clara Trophy is a 10 Silver Revere bowl on a walnut base (value $135), donated by Becki Jo and Frank Wolkenheim, Calico, in memory of Ch Squier s Clara Barton UD. Commemora ve plaques are awarded. MITTINA TROPHY One addi onal trophy, not associated with the FSSA, is included in the inventory kept by the Trophy Curator. It is the Mi na Trophy, established by Mrs. Jones, in honor of the Field Spaniel winning Best of Breed each year at the American Spaniel Club Flushing Spaniel show. The trophy is mul ered wood bases with engraved plates for each winning dog and the owners. The top is an elaborate silver plate cup. 14

Inaugural Most Versatile Field Challenge In order to be eligible dogs must be entered in the MVF Challenge using the entry form in the MVF premium. We are extremely excited to present the MVF Challenge for the first me this year. The challenge is designed to celebrate our incredibly versa le Field Spaniels. This event will take place during our Na onal and uses those events and the scores/ placements received during them to rank dogs entered based on points. There are 5 event types in this challenge: Barn Hunt, Agility, Obedience, Rally and Conforma on. In order to be eligible dogs must be entered in a minimum of 3 event types and must qualify in a minimum of 2 event types. This is not an AKC event. There will be a separate premium for the event.
