The fee will match the ERN fee. 2) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. 3) These fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members. Junior Puppy Senior Puppy CONFORMATION CLASSIFICATIONS The following regular CKC Classes divided by sex will be offered: 6 months and under 9 months on the day of the show. 9 months and under 12 months on the day of the show. 12-18 Months 12 months and under 18 months on the day of the show. Canadian Bred Bred by Exhibitor Open For dogs born in Canada, champions in any country excluded. For dogs owned and handled in the ring by the Breeder. All dogs. Veterans For all dogs 7 years of age or over on the day of the show. Dogs entered in this class do not Compete for points, but rather the winner of the Veteran Male and Veteran Female class goes on to the Best of Breed competition. Spayed or neutered dogs may compete in this class. Specials Only Dogs of either sex individually registered with the CKC, possessing an ERN number, who have earned all points required for the Championship status at the time of the close of entries. Entry of a listed dog is not permitted in Specials Only. The request to move a class dog to Specials Only must be made at least one hour prior to the start of the show. Exhibition Only All dogs entered in this class will be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as dogs entered in regular competition. Dogs entered in this class may not compete. 4

Trophy List A suitable prize or trophy and/or ribbon will be offered for: Regular Classes Best in Specialty Best of Opposite Sex Best Puppy in Specialty Best of Winners Bred By Exhibitor in Specialty Best Canadian Bred in Specialty Best Veteran in Specialty Best Brace in Specialty Best Sire & Get in Specialty Best Dam & Progeny Trophy Donations All trophy donations will be gratefully accepted. All contributions to the Metro Valley Afghan Hound Association, Trophy Fund, received by the closing date will be acknowledged in the Catalogue. Additional Non-Regular CKC Classes will be offered by the Metro Valley Afghan Hound Assn: Any dog entered in a non-regular class must also be entered in a regular class or for Exhibition Only, except for Get and Progeny which MUST be entered in a Regular Class. Spayed/neutered dogs may be entered but must also be entered in a regular class as specified in the Dog Show Rules or for Exhibition Only. Brace Class For two dogs of the same breed, handled by one person on one lead. Sire & Get two or more get, dogs need not all be owned by the same exhibitor. Dam & Progeny two or more progeny, dogs need not all be owned by the same exhibitor. Parade of Veterans For any dog 7 years of age and older Parade of Titleholders For any dog having completed the requirements for a Canadian title. The Metro Valley Afghan Hound Association is offering an award for : Best Canadian Bred in Specialty, Best Bred By Exhibitor in Specialty and Best Veteran in Specialty As the rules for these awards are at the discretion of the Club, they have specified how the awards will be given at these shows. Dogs eligible for the Canadian Bred in Specialty award will be identified by way of their country of birth as shown on the entry form. Dogs eligible for the Veteran in Specialty award will be identified by way of their date of birth as shown on the entry form. For those wishing to compete for the Bred by Exhibitor in Specialty award, you must identify on the entry form whether the dog will be eligible to compete based on these rules. Dogs entered in these classes must also be entered in one of the regular classes in the show. General Rules that apply to all of the above awards: Should the Best in Specialty winner be Canadian Bred, Bred by the Exhibitor, or a Veteran, that dog shall automatically be awarded the ribbon. The dog awarded Best of Opposite Sex is considered to have defeated all dogs entered of that sex. If the dog awarded Best in Specialty is not Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or a Veteran, then all other Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or Veteran dogs entered as Specials, including the Veteran Male and Veteran Female, are eligible to compete. The dog awarded Best of Winners is considered to have defeated all class dogs. If either the Winners Male or Winners Female is Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or a Veteran, they shall be deemed to have defeated all other Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or Veteran Class dogs. If either or both of these dogs are not Canadian Bred, Bred By Exhibitor, or a Veteran dog, then all Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or Veteran dogs winning First in Class are eligible to compete. If any First Place Class winner is not Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or a Veteran, then the Second Place, Third Place, or Fourth Place dog will be eligible, based on their qualification. On completion of the awarding of Best in Specialty, all eligible dogs for the Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor or Veteran Award will return to the ring to be judged. Eligibility to compete in Canadian Bred in Specialty the dog must have been bred in Canada. Eligibility to compete in Bred By Exhibitor in Specialty Only dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder for all competition are eligible for this award. Exhibitors are required to mark the entry form as to whether their dog(s) will be eligible to compete for this award if offered by the Club. Eligibility to compete for Veteran in Specialty the dog must be at least seven (7) years of age on the date of the show as identified by the date of birth shown on the entry form. Please read the following information: Please Note, for Bred By Exhibitor in Specialty: When completing the entry form, either by hand or when entering on line, there is a section which you must indicate whether your dog is eligible for the Bred By Exhibitor in Specialty competition. Any dog from any of the classes including Specials who are handled in the ring throughout the whole judging process are eligible. You must mark your eligibility on the entry form in order to be able to compete for this award at the Breed Judging. For the Canadian Bred in Specialty: the eligibility will be determined by the Place of Birth information on the entry. For Best Veteran in Specialty: eligibility will be determined by the dogs Date of Birth listed on the entry form. 6

Sweepstake Rules Yearling Sweepstake: Eligibility: 1. All puppies within each Specialty, 6 months of age but under 18 months of age on the day of the show, shall be eligible to compete, regardless of place of birth. Altered dogs may not compete. 2. All dogs entered must also be entered in one of the official breed classes in the Specialty. 3. Professional handlers are permitted to handle ONLY dogs which they have bred or co-bred, own or co-own. Classification: For the purpose of judging, the dogs will be divided by sex into the following classes: 6 months and under 9 months, 9 months and under 12 months, 12 months and under 18 months For final judging the First Place dog from each class above will be brought together for the final placings of Best in Sweepstake and Runner-Up in Sweepstake. Veterans Sweepstake Eligibility: This competition is open to all Afghan Hounds 7 years of age and older on the day of the show. All dogs must be entered in one of the regular Breed classes or for Exhibition Only. Spayed or neutered dogs may compete provided they are also entered in the official Veterans class or for Exhibition Only. Veterans 7 10 years, Veterans 10 12 years and Veterans 12 years + Classification: The Sweepstake Classes are divided by sex and offered as follows: For final judging the First Place dog from each class above will be brought together for the final placing of Best in Veterans Sweepstake and Runner-Up in Veterans Sweepstake. Prize List: For both Sweepstakes, there will be a rosette for First place in each class, and flat ribbons for 2nd through 4th. Best in Sweepstake, and Best in Veteran Sweepstakes will receive a Rosette and 50% of the entry. Runner-Up in Sweepstake and Runner-Up in Veterans Sweepstake will receive a Rosette and 25% of the entry. The Club will retain 25% of the entry fees for expenses. 7

RULES GOVERNING THESE SHOWS 1. The Club reserves the right to remove any person from these shows, which will be held strictly under Canadian Kennel Club Rules. 2. The Club reserves the right to decline to accept entries for just cause, in which case the fee will be refunded with the reason for non-acceptance. No one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club holding the show or any official connected therewith for refusal of an entry. 3. The Show-giving Club will exercise due care and diligence for the welfare of the dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of an accident, or other misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons. 4. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the conduct of their animals while they are on the Show Grounds. Exhibitors are responsible for their equipment and possessions. 5. Dogs must be ready for judging. The club will not be responsible for and not obligated to provide any service for notifying owners or agent of breed or class judging. NO RING WILL BE HELD UP WAITING FOR EXHIBITORS OR HANDLERS. 6. For the benefit of the health of animals, the pleasure of exhibitors and spectators we insist upon keeping the show grounds as clean as possible. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP AFTER THEIR DOGS. Dogs are to be exercised in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Failure to comply may result in future entries being refused. 7. All trailers, motor homes, campers and recreational units will have buckets underneath their sink drains. Anyone found discharging gray or black water from their unit will immediately be removed from the grounds. 8. There will be no other facilities in case of inclement weather. 9. If, because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the Club, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 10. Entries will be acknowledged with a judging schedule as soon as possible after the closing date by email only. If it is not received within a reasonable time please contact the Show Secretary. Be sure you email is correct on entry. 11. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Any exhibitor wishing to substitute or cancel an entry must do so in writing before the hour of closing. Substitutions or cancellations of entries after the closing time are prohibited. THERE WILL BE NO REFUND FOR OVERPAYMENT OR DUPLICATE ENTRIES.. 12. Dogs must be kept ON LEAD in all Public Areas. 14.The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show which will be governed by CKC Rules. 8 This is a Non Smoking Show. This show is Green please recycle. ENTRY INFORMATION 1. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are completed in full. Handlers or agents please note the full name and address of all owners must be filled in. 2. Incomplete entries will be returned. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by entry fees. Telephone and telegraph entries cannot be accepted. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. 3. There is no refund for duplicate cheques. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries, however if the entry has been processed and appears in the official catalogue, no refund will be made. 4. Substitutions or cancellations of any entry after the closing date is prohibited. Moving Class Dogs to Specials is permitted up to one hour before the start of the show. Only dogs which are already registered in the Canadian Kennel Club Stud Book, or are eligible for such registration can be entered. The committee reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC Rules. 5. Entries positively close 12:00 noon (PDT) July 10, 2018 and must be in the hands of the Show Secretary by that date. 6. Judging schedules will be emailed as soon as possible after the entries close. Identification cards must be presented upon arrival at the show. 7. Tendering of NSF cheques in payment of fees shall be considered non-payment of fees and is punishable by disciplinary action. Any N.S.F. or returned item will be subject to a minimum $50.00 service charge. $50.00 will be charged on all returned items NSF cheques. 8. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Champions & Points SECTION #1. A dog awarded WINNERS at a Championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points ranging from 0 to 5 and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. SECTION #2. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded Winners shall be as follows: A dog awarded WINNERS at a Championship show shall be credited with a number of championship points ranging from 0 to 5 the number of championship points shall be as follows: Dogs competing* 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more Points allocated 0 1 2 3 4 5 *Includes the dog awarded Winners. In addition to championship points allocated at the breed level, a dog awarded WINNERS which also places in the regular Group competition shall be credited with the following additional points provided that a dog was defeated at the group level. A class dog awarded Best in Show at an all-breed Championship show will be credited with 5 points inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified or that is dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge, shall NOT be included in the calculation for championship points effective January 1, 2012 Absentees are not to be included. In order for a dog to be recognized as a Canadian Champion it must: (1) earn at least ten championship points under at least three different judges; and (2) be individually registered in the records of the CKC or have a CKC Event Registration Number (ERN). Fourth The title of Grand Champion may only be earned after the completion of the CKC conformation championship. 15.2.2 Points for this title are only accumulated after the completion of the conformation championship and do not include the points earned in attaining the conformation championship. 15.2.3 To be awarded a Grand Champion title, a dog must attain a minimum of 20 points, which must include a minimum of two (2) wins of at least two (2) points each. Points may be gained at breed, group or Best in Show/Specialty level. Only the highest points earned at a single show are carried forward. (a) Grand Champion Point System Points towards the Grand Champion title, at breed level, are awarded to the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Select Dog and Select Bitch. Points are calculated based on the number of animals competing at the breed level for the Best of Breed winner and the number of similar-sex dogs competing for the other three (Best of Opposite, Select Dog, Select Bitch).
