Judges Bio Mr. Kereluke started in the sport of pure-bred dogs with the purchase of an Afghan in 1967. He began to attend shows and soon was "hooked". Back in those days, many of the shows were benched. This proved to be a great learning experience. As many others before him Mr. Kereluke followed the natural progression and soon acquired an Afghan female to breed. Her only litter produced 9 Champions and began the Timang Afghans. From there he began his breeding program. He bred his last litter in 1985 and has had well over 35 Champions to his credit. While attending shows with his Afghans, he also handled dogs for clients. He was very fortunate to have had some very good dogs to show along the way. Most of these dogs were in the Hound group and included Salukis, Irish Wolfhounds and Borzoi. He has exhibited both in Canada and the United States for many years winning Best in Shows in both countries. In 1985 he joined the ranks for judging, and is now approved to judge all breeds in Canada and the world. He has judged in many countries including Sweden, Denmark, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines and the United States. He is involved with several clubs and associations. He has served on several committees for the Canadian Kennel Club, including the internal Discipline Committee. He was on the Education Committee for the Canadian Dog Judges Association, President of the Northwinds Dog Club and an active member of the Manitoba Gazehound Association. Mr. Kereluke still has a few Afghan Hounds at home and still does exhibit occasionally at Specialty shows. Seamus Oates lives in Dublin, Ireland, where he has been involved with dogs all his adult life. He is the FOUNDER of the St. Bernard Club of Ireland which he established in 1972. He is also a founding member of the Bulldog Club of Ireland. Under his Oatfield prefix, he has bred and made up many Champions in both Breeds. He is an All Breeds FCI Judge and he has judged in almost all European countries including Russia. He has also judged in Japan, S.Korea, China, The Philippines, S. Africa, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia and USA. He has also had the Honour of judging at CRUFTS. CLASSIFICATIONS The following CKC classes (divided by sex) will be provided: BABY PUPPY dogs between 3 months and under 6 months on day of show (this class does not compete for points) JUNIOR PUPPY dogs between 6 months and under 9 months on day of show SENIOR PUPPY dogs between 9 months and under 12 months on day of show 12-18 MONTHS dogs between 12 months and under 18 months on day of show CANADIAN BRED dogs born in Canada, Champions of any country are excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder for this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards. OPEN CLASS for all dogs SPECIALS ONLY EXHIBITION ONLY EXHIBITION ONLY 3 6 MONTH BRACE STUD DOG & GET BROOD BITCH & PROGENY dogs who are Canadian Champions. A CKC Registration Number or ERN must be indicated on the entry form at time of closing. NON-REGULAR CLASSES (dogs must be entered in a regular class or for exhibition only.) Dogs entered in this class may not compete in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades if provided for in this premium list. puppies 3-6 months of age may be entered in Exhibition Only 3-6 Months provided the owner(s) has entered a dog in a Regular Official Class. Must be handled by one person on one lead and should be judged as an identical pair. Dogs may be spayed/neutered Stud Dog and two or more of his get. Stud Dog and Get may be entered in a Regular class or Exhibition only. Brood Bitch and two or more of her Progeny. Same stipulations as for Stud Dog and Get apply to this classification. WITHDRAWAL OF ENTRIES Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Specialty Show Secretary no later than the official closing date and time. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Dog Show Rule books and Obedience Trial regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club. Cost is $6.30. 2. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show and it will be governed by CKC rules. All rules and regulations, as outlined in the Alberta Kennel Club premium list, will apply to this specialty. 3. Entries will be acknowledged after entry closing, with receipt, judging schedule and exhibitor passes. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary. 4. Additional Championship points may be attainable at the group level. See the CKC Dog Show Rules for details. CKC Non-Member Participation Fee 24-12-3. Non-member participation fee a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian nonmember of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members" *Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, http://www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and then Forms On-line.
