Jessica Duarte Jerohn Walker Period 5 AfRiCAN lion Did you know? The fur of a lion acts as camouflage for hunting prey because the low lying plants are a similar color to the fur of the lion. When the lion hunts it will often get real close to its prey before attacking it. Then it takes a big leap and grabs the prey. In a single jump, a lion can leap 35 feet through. Their hearing is so sharp, they can hear prey that is more than a mile away! How about this? The lions eyes are the largest of any carnivorous animal. Like other cats, the eyes of a lion are especially made for seeing at night. To help lions creep up on their prey, they have rubbery pads on the bottoms of their feet.
