BOB and BOS rabbits/cavies will all be asked to stay the week. BOV and BOSV rabbits/cavies may stay at the convenience of the exhibitor and available cooping. Please bring water and food containers for your animals. Coop out is Saturday August 25 at 10 PM. NOTE: 6-class breeds will be judged later in the day. We will have good ventilation and the show ring is near the woods. 6-class breeds will not need to arrive until 10 AM. All other animals will need to arrive by 8:30 AM. All wool breeds will be judged first! There is very limited cooping for animals that stay, the show secretary and superintendent will work with you if it is a problem, ASK! 2013 South Mountain Fair Rabbits/Cavies Rules: See General Livestock Information. 1. All rabbit/cavy entries will be paper entries due to the Adams County Fair office no later than August 1. No late postmarks will be accepted. 2. Rabbits/cavies need to arrive at the fairgrounds by 8:30 AM on the day of judging. Judging will begin promptly at 9 AM. 3. All stock must be permanently & legibly earmarked according to ARBA rules. Rabbits not properly earmarked will be disqualified. Be sure your rabbits are tattooed before the show. Please contact the show secretary by August 1 if you need this done. 4. Animals may be entered as open OR youth. The same animal may NOT be shown in both open and youth. 5. Exhibits must be picked up at 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, the last day of the fair. Exhibits are left at the exhibitor s risk. Animals will be given quality care by the members of the Adams County 4-H Rabbit Club, supervised by the Show Secretary. Prize money will be forfeited by exhibitors in violation of this rule. Animals staying for exhibit include those described in Rule 10. 6. Participants must abide by fair and ARBA rules. 7. Building will be open daily from 4 P.M. to 10 P.M. (Tues Friday), Saturday 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. 8. Any stock showing signs of any contagious or infectious disease will be removed from the show and the fair. The decision of the superintendents will be final. 9. All rabbits/cavies must be owned by the date of fair entry. No leased animals will be accepted. 10. All rabbits/cavies entered in the fair and owned by Adams County residents must stay the week of the fair unless sent home by the superintendent. All BOB and BOS animals must stay the week of the fair. All BOV and BOSV animals are requested to stay at the convenience of the exhibitor and available cooping. Please bring food and water containers. 11. All rabbits/cavies must be a minimum of 8 weeks old and weaned. 12. No locks on cages. 13. All youth posters must be turned in the day of the show. They are to be 14X22 and MUST address rabbits/cavies. They MUST be the work of the youth. They may be in any medium, but cannot be three dimensional. Cartoon figures (such as Bugs Bunny) can t be used as they are copyrighted. The youth s name, age, address, county and a brief explanation should be written on a 3 x5 card and attached. Posters will be displayed until the close of the fair. Only one entry per youth. 14. No breeding allowed. 15. Exhibitors attempting to or actually interfering with the judges or show committee or acting in a manner unbecoming an exhibitor shall have their stock disqualified and shall be rejected and barred from the show with entry fee forfeited. 16. Parents - You are responsible for your children! PLEASE no running, pushing, screaming or destruction of property. There will be no alcoholic foods or beverages allowed at the show grounds. 17. The South Mountain Fair will not be responsible in the case of fire, theft, injury, or providential loss, but every precaution will be taken to prevent these losses.

18. Rabbits/Cavies exhibited in Pennsylvania are to have an Animal Owner Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship which is required by check-in or with your entry. Please, if you realize you have animals which are ill, leave them home. 19. All pure-bred animals will be judged according to the latest Standard of Perfection of the American Rabbit Breeders Association. 20. Mixed breed youth classes will be judged based on health, grooming and friendliness. 21. Animals remaining at the fair may be left for sale. Adams County 4-H Rabbit Club will manage the sale on your behalf. Sold animals cannot leave the fairgrounds before Saturday at 10 PM. Unsold animals must be picked up by the owners at that time.
