BUS LOT VOLUNTEER: The Bus Lot Volunteer directs busses and vans arriving in the Plimoth Plantation Bus Lot to an assigned parking spot in a well-organized and safe manner. The Bus Lot Volunteer is the first person our guests will meet upon their arrival. Please have strong, friendly, communication skills, and the ability to interact with visitors. The volunteer will maintain a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment for tour bus drivers and their passengers arriving at the Plimoth Plantation Bus Lot. The Bus Lot Volunteer will work in conjunction with the Guest Experience Escort as well as Guest Services and the Orientation Theater Volunteer to assure a safe transition of the group to the Visitor Center, so the ability to work with a team is necessary. Parking Lot volunteers are always outdoors. Bring plenty of water or other fluids to stay hydrated, sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun as well as rain gear for inclement weather. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. ORIENTATION THEATER VOLUNTEER: The Orientation Theater Volunteer is essential to help get groups of students and tourists into and out of the Orientation Slideshow on a daily basis. By working closely with Guest Services, the Bus Lot Volunteer, and the Guest Services Experience Escort, the Orientation Theater Volunteer helps get groups into and out of the Orientation Slideshow in a calm, quick and orderly manner. They determine when the theater is open and available for the groups to view the slideshow, as well as start and stop the show, if necessary. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position, the Orientation Theater Volunteer is asked to do the following: Have a basic knowledge of how to run the Orientation Slideshow. Have the ability to work with and coordinate with fellow staff members to help the groups get through the Visitor Center in an orderly fashion. Have the ability to answer questions, not just about the slideshow but also about the museum in general. Have the ability to speak to the groups, if required, about the slideshow they will be seeing as well as how to proceed once the slideshow is over. Some groups may want you to give them a small introduction before the slideshow starts. Ability to work while standing for up to 4 hours. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing for a while. PLIMOTH CINEMA VOLUNTEER The Plimoth Cinema Volunteer helps the Plimoth Cinema staff member in the afternoons and evenings with the operation of the movies. The Plimoth Cinema Volunteer helps Cinema staff with the preparation of concessions, such as making and getting guests popcorn and getting guests candy and drinks while the Cinema staff is selling guests tickets. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position, the Plimoth Cinema Volunteer is asked to do the following: Help Plimoth Cinema Staff prepare and give concessions to the guests. Answer basic questions about the theaters, movies, as well as questions about the museum in general. Help guests to their seats, if necessary. Provide a warm and welcoming greeting to our many regular guests Willing to work as a team with our Cinema Staff person. GOLF CART DRIVER: 250,000 people per year from all over the United States and the World. Our priorities are the safety and comfort of all The Golf Cart Driver will meet and greet visitors in friendly manner while ensuring safe and comfortable seating. A clean driving record is necessary. You must be over the age of 19 per our insurance carrier. You may obtain a copy of your driving record from your insurance agent prior to joining us. The Golf Cart Driver will pick up and drop off passengers all over the Plimoth Plantation property, depending on where the guests ask you to take them. Please have friendly communication skills and the ability to interact with visitors. Special attention will be paid to the cleanliness and appearance of the golf cart especially during inclement weather. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Most guests who use the golf cart are doing so due to mobility issues, so there is an almost certain chance that you will encounter a situation where a guest has a wheelchair or a walker. Sometimes, another member of the party might be able to help you with these items. The Golf Cart Driver must have the ability to lift such items or help lift such items and fit them safely onto the cart for transportation. You must also have the ability to unload such items or help unload such items. Due to the nature of the position, the Golf Cart Driver is asked to do the following: Drive guests carefully and safely to the location of their choosing. Help lift and secure wheelchairs and walkers to the golf cart for transportation. Have the ability to answer questions about the museum. Golf Cart Drivers work outdoors. GUEST EXPERIENCE ESCORT: The Guest Experience Escort greets guests at the Plimoth Plantation parking lot and sidewalk as they arrive. You will escort them to the Visitor Center and congenially ask the group to remain outside until their Group Leader has checked in at the main desk. You must have the ability to answer questions guests may have while they are waiting. Please have friendly, communication skills, and the ability to interact with visitors.
