Lunch Lunches are provided only for the workers. There are several fast food restaurants close within a 10 minute drive from Grand K9 Ranch. Move-Ups Dogs may be moved up to a higher class at the request of the owner, as a result of qualifying for an agility title, provided that a written request is made to the Trial Secretary no later than 6 pm on Monday before the trial. If you miss the deadline, you will not be able to move your dog up until you have shown the dog on the first day it is entered in the show. Once you have shown your dog then day-to-day move-ups apply. Day to day moveups will be allowed provided the Trial Secretary received the form within 30 minutes after the last class. A dog which has been entered in Novice A class for which it is not eligible to be entered in due to class restrictions on the dog or the handler may be moved to the Novice B class under the following conditions: The request for the move must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. The request must state the reason and justification for the move from a Novice A class to a Novice B class. Exhibitor Information Prizes and Awards Ribbons will be awarded to the 1 st through 4 th place dog in each jump height in each class. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all qualifiers. Awards will not be available until the judges have reviewed the appropriate scribe sheets. Course Familiarization and Warm-Ups Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, prior to the start of each class. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all exhibitors. There will be no contact obstacle familiarization for Novice.

Eligibility This trial is open to all dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds. Dogs should be physically sound. Bitches in season, aggressive, blind or deaf dogs or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance are ineligible to participate. Class Information Heights/Height Cards Information All exhibitors should obtain a copy of the Regulations for Agility Trials by contacting the American Kennel Club by e-mail at info@akc.org, or on their website at www.akc.org. Height Divisions Height divisions for each class are listed in Ch. 2, sec.3 and Ch. 8, sec. 6 of the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials amended 9/1/06. Preferred Regular Dog s Height 4 inches 8 Inches For dogs 11 inches & under 8 Inches 12 Inches For dogs 14 inches & under 12 Inches 16 Inches For dogs 18 inches & under 16 Inches 20 Inches For dogs 22 inches & under 20 Inches 24 Inches For dogs over 22 inches 26 inches Dogs may be entered at this height at owner s discretion. (Dog s measurement at withers.) NEW Simplified Jump Height Card Process When filling out the entry form, there is a new section at the top of the form for exhibitors to designate whether your dog has a valid jump height card of if your dog needs to be measured. Height Cards Effective January 1, 2010, exhibitors are no longer required to provide proof to Trial Secretaries that their dog has a valid jump height card as part of the check-in process. Furthermore, this change eliminates the need for a copy of the jump height card to be submitted with an entry form. Dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form may still compete: but they must be measured by the judge of record PRIOR to running in their class and this measurement will be valid for that weekend of trials only. The exception to this requirement is a dog entered in the 24 or 26 height division. However, if a Volunteer Measuring Official (VMO) or an Agility Field Rep is present: ALL dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form must be measured at some time during the trial or cluster of trials. This does not preclude having the dog wicketed by the Judge of Record if the VMO or Rep is not available to measure the dog before its first run of the trial or cluster of trials. It if the exhibitor s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running and failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores. When filling out the entry form, there is a new section at the top of the form for exhibitors to designate whether your dog has a valid jump height card or if the dog needs to be measured. Please check the appropriate box so that the Trial Secretary knows whether to include your dog on the Dogs To Be Measured List. It is no longer required that you submit a copy of your dog s jump height card with your entry form or show it during day of show check-in. Preferred Class Any dog (at least 15 months old see Eligibility requirements above) may enter Preferred Classes. A dog entered in Preferred will jump 4 lower than its regular jump height and have 5 seconds in time added to the regular Standard Course Time. All dogs entering the Preferred Classes for the first time MUST enter the Novice level regardless of their previous title level in the Regular classes. Dogs in the Preferred Class must jump their Preferred jump height. They may not jump higher. Dogs cannot be entered in Regular and Preferred Classes on the same weekend. Dogs may switch back and forth between Regular and Preferred but not at the same trial

It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. CPAC may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive, or may remove, any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the CPAC or any official thereof. Entries by fax or email will not be accepted. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitor may result in their being put on a cash only basis. The returned check must be made good by cash or money order before the dog will be allowed into the ring. This trial will be conducted under the American Kennel Club Regulations for Agility Trials. For copies of the Regulations, write the AKC, 8051 Arco Corporate Drive, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27617-3390 or visit their website online at: www.akc.org. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to inform the gate stewards of possible conflicts before their turn. Exhibitors with potential conflicts must inform the gate stewards before their classes start; affected dogs must run FIRST in their jump heights. Except in extraordinary circumstances, there will be no additional walk-throughs or resetting of jump heights after the height has finished judging. This test will be held outdoors on packed dirt. The rings will be 120 x 80. No dogs allowed in the restrooms. Please pick up after your dogs. All dogs must be on leash at all times, except when in the ring or when in designated warm-up areas.

Refunds Full entry fees will be refunded if an entry is pulled before the closing date/time. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. CPAC is under no obligation to offer refunds for duplicate entries for the same dog. Half of entries will be refunded for bitches that come into season after the close of entries, if the Trial Secretary receives WRITTEN notice of withdrawal (USPS or email) by 8 pm on Monday before the trial. Bitches in season will not be allowed on AKC showgrounds. Owners requesting refunds for bitches in season may be asked to provide a statement from a veterinarian that the bitch in question is in season on the date of the trial. Refunds apply to the affected bitch only, not for all dogs entered by the bitch's owner and/or traveling companions. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No refunds for overpayment of entry fees will be made for $10.00 or less. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Can you HELP? All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. If measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running. Dogs enrolled in the AKC Canine Partners SM program may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC agility trials at the club s option effective April 1, 2010. These dogs should be listed as All American Dog and must include their AKC number on the entry form and check the AKC No. box.
