CHAMPIONS & Section 1 A dog awarded Winners at a Championship Show held under CHAMPIONSHIP the Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship POINTS points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points be accredited to a dog awarded Winners shall be provided hereunder. Section 2 The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated to a dog awarded Winners shall be as follows: Dogs Competing: Points Allocated: 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more 0 1 2 3 4 5 In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, Dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points. 4
SWEEPSTAKES Juvenile Sweepstakes Sweepstakes is open to all dogs 6 months of age on the day of the show, regardless of place of birth. All dogs must be entered in a regular class. Classes will be divided by sex: Junior puppy, Senior puppy, 12 to 18 Mths BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES 5 % of total entry fees collected & rosette RUNNER-UP IN SWEEPSTAKES 5 % of total entry fees collected & rosette FIRST IN EACH CLASS 25 % of total class fees collected & rosette SECOND IN EACH CLASS 20 % of total class fees collected & rosette THIRD IN EACH CLASS 10 % of total class fees collected & rosette FORTH IN EACH CLASS 10 % of total class fees collected & rosette Veteran Sweepstakes Sweepstake is open to all dogs 7 years of age and over on the day of the Specialty ALL DOGS MUST BE ENTERED IN A REGULAR CLASS OR EXHIBITION ONLY. Classes will be divided by sex as fallows 7-9 years of age Male/ Female 9-11 years of age Male/Female 11 and over years of age Male/Female Prizes BEST VETERANS IN SWEEPSTAKES 30 % of total fees collected and suitable prize and rosette RUNNER-UP IN SWEEPSTAKES 25 % of total fees collected and Rosette First in each class get 5% of total fees collected and a rosette 2-4 participant ribbon and suitable prize will be given ALL PRIZES ARE TO BE CLAIMED AT THE SHOW NO PRIZES WILL BE MAILED Balance of 25 % will be held back by club to defray costs 5
REGULAR CLASSES The following CKC Classes (divided by sex) will be provided: Junior Puppy for dogs 6 months of age but under 9 months of age Senior Puppy for dogs 9 months of age but under 12 months of age 12 18 months for dogs 12 months of age but under 18 months of age Canadian Bred for dogs born in Canada, (Champions from any country excluded) Bred by Exhibitor : for any dog owned and handled in the ring breeder. The handler MUST be the breeder/co-breeder AND must handle the dog at the class level, but not need handle dog for further awards. Veteran for any dog, 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on the compete for Best of Breed. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. Specials Only for any dog who is a Canadian Champion. A CKC Registration or ERN must be indicated on the entry form at time of closing. The entry of a Listed dog in Specials Only is not allowed. Exhibition Only dogs entered in this class may not compete in any Regular Class, but may enter and compete in Non-Regular Classes and/or Parades, if provided for in this Premium List. NON-REGULAR CLASSES All dogs must be entered in the Regular Classes, Veterans Class, Specials Only or for Exhibition Only to compete in the following Non-Regular Classes. Dogs may be spayed or neutered. Sweepstakes Juvenile Veteran Brace To compete in Juvenile Sweepstakes Class, dogs must be entered in a Regular Class or for Specials Only. Entry in Juvenile Sweepstakes from the Exhibition Only Class is not allowed. Classes will be divided by age only as follows: 6-9 months 9-12 months 12-18 months Classes will be divided by age only as follows: 7-9 years 9-11 years 11 years and older Two dogs of one breed (either sex or mixed) not necessarily owned by the same owner, shown by one handler on one lead. Stud Dog And Get Stud Dog and 2 or more of his get, not necessarily owned by the same owner. 6
Brood Bitch Brood Bitch and 2 or more of her progeny, not and Progeny necessarily owned by the same owner. BEST RIDGE To start after the RRCBC BISS is completed. Please register on the day of the show. Fee for entry is $10.00 Prize and Rosette awarded for Best Overall Ridge, Best Ridge Male and Best Ridge Female. Best Ridge is open to all Ridgebacks. BEST PUPPY IN BREED MOVING CLASS DOGS TO SPECIALS Where a dog awarded Best of Breed is not a puppy, those puppies which have not been defeated either directly or indirectly by another puppy in the breed will compete for this award. Judging follows the award for Best of Breed. A puppy awarded Best Puppy in Breed is NOT required to stay to compete for Best Puppy in Group. A dog which is individually registered in the records of the CKC or has an ERN number at the time of closing of entries, and has completed the requirements for a championship in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 20 of the Dog Show Rules, after the closing date and time for entries for a show, but whose championship is yet unconfirmed by the CKC may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Specials Only providing the transfer is submitted to the show secretary in writing at least one (1) hour prior to the opening of the show, by the owner or handler. U.S. EXHIBITORS FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Current Exchange Rates favour the American Dollar. To take advantage of this, please pay by Credit Card, Bank Drafts or Money Orders payable in Canadian Dollars. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they must be payable for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTRY in U.S. Funds- discounted cheques will not be honoured. Do not mark personal cheques Payable in Canadian funds or at par. Effective January 1992, all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC Registration Number but will require an ERN Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dogs foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/MasterCard number (expiry date, cardholders name and signature) to the CKC. Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING AN EVENT.
