FOR POULTRY, OUT-OF-STATE POULTRY 1. All poultry, which includes game birds, quail, pheasants, peafowl, turkeys, and waterfowl shall have originated from a US Pullorum clean flock or have had a negative pullorum test within ninety (90) days of entry. All turkeys shall also have originated from a US MG clean flock or have had a negative MG test within thirty (30) days of entry. All the preceding information must be documented on a valid certificate of veterinary inspection, NPIP flock certification form or similar certificate. These forms must indicate that the flocks from which the eggs or chicks originated have been tested for pullorum disease and were free of reactors; or, any eggs or chicks or poults produced under the supervision of the National Poultry Improvement Plan will be deemed to have met with the requirements of these regulations, provided all of the requirements of NPIP are complied with and applicable NPIP forms accompany birds. All non-certified poultry must be individually identified, either by a permanent leg or wing band or tattoo. Wraparound plastic bands are not acceptable. NPIP certified flocks of turkeys, chickens, and domesticated fowl entering on a VS 9-3 or NPIP flock certification form or similar certificate are exempt from the requirement of a certificate of veterinary inspection unless a state of emergency has been declared. ARKANSAS POULTRY An official representing the exhibition shall notify the state veterinarian no later than thirty (30) days prior to the exhibition, giving names, place, inclusive dates, and time of the event. The requirements are as follows: 1. All in-state poultry, which includes domesticated game birds, quail, pheasants, peafowl, guineas, and turkeys, present at exhibition in Arkansas shall have originated from U. S. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean or equivalent flocks or have had a negative pullorum-typhoid test within ninety (90) days of the movement to the exhibition (pullorum-typhoid testing on fairgrounds during the fair is prohibited.) This information will be documented on a NPIP Form VS 9-3, 90-Day Certificate, NPIP Flock Certification Form or similar certificate that will accompany the poultry during exhibition. 2. All non-certified birds must be banded (leg or wing band), with a sealed band. Wraparound plastic bands are not acceptable. In-state waterfowl are exempt from pullorum-typhoid requirements. 3. Any poultry showing evidence of infectious or contagious disease or insect infestation will not be permitted to exhibit. 4. Record Keeping - The sponsor of the exhibition shall compile a list of all poultry present at exhibition. This list shall contain the name and address of each owner, the number, the species, breed, variety, type, sex, and pullorum-typhoid status of all poultry present. A copy of this shall be retained by the sponsor of the exhibition for at least twelve (12) months. NOTE: ALL Entries must be accompanied by A Copy of your NPIP Flock Certificate or, a copy of your 9-2 Test Certificate. Page 15

Heart of the Ozarks Poultry Association 6th Annual Fall Show November 1st, 2014 ~ Fayetteville, Arkansas RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SHOW This Poultry Show will Provide Classes for all APA and ABA Recognized Standard Breeds. All Birds must meet Arkansas Livestock and Poultry health requirements! (See page 15) 1. All birds will be examined as they are cooped in and during the show. NO sick or diseased birds will be permitted to show. 2. Each bird must be leg banded with the corresponding number on the entry form and coop tag. 3. Neither HOTOPA nor its club officers will be responsible for any loss, sickness, or injury to any bird brought to the show; however, all precautions will be taken to protect the exhibits. 4. APA and ABA Rules will govern the judging of the show unless otherwise stated. 5. All Protests must be made in writing accompanied by a 20.00 deposit made to the Secretary of HOTOPA. The Show Committee will make the Final Decision. In the event the committee finds no justification for the protest, the fee will be forfeited. 6. No person will be allowed in the aisle during judging, or will be allowed to talk to the judge while he is judging. 7. All eggs laid during the show, unless gathered by the owner, will be broken as they are collected by one of the show officials. 8. Exhibitors may place sale sign's on their birds coop after judging is completed. No sign may interfere with another exhibitors adjoining coop. 9. Definitions: Cock: Male bird over one year old. ~ Hen: Female bird over one year old. ~ Cockerel: Male bird under one year old. ~ Pullet: Female bird under one year old. 10. All birds will be judged through fifth place. National Meets will be judged through 10th place. Ribbons will be awarded through 5th place in junior show. 11. Competition is open to poultry exhibitors of the world. No membership is required; however we invite you to become a member of the Heart of the Ozarks Poultry Association. To join enclose 5.00 for juniors, 8.00 for Individuals, 12.00 for Family memberships with your entry. 12. Sale Coops will not be available. But you may bring your own to setup outside. 13. All Indian Runners will be judged in an open ring. Exhibitors should be present to handle there own birds. HOTOPA is not responsible if a bird is injured during moving. 14. Make all checks payable to Heart of the Ozarks Poultry Association. 15. Any Other Issue not covered in this catalog will be decided by the Show Committee. Page 3

Star pins will be awarded to all wins in classes of 100 or more. Bantam Bucks awarded to all class and reserve of class wins. All wins in Classes of 100 or more will be denoted with a star * and be retained in the ABA records to accumulate towards the Master Exhibitor, Master Breeder, and Lifetime Achievement awards. Only ABA members are eligible to compete for the above awards. Dues are $20.00 per year $50.00 for three years. New members receive a copy of the quarterly and the latest available copy of the Annual American Bantam Association Year Book which lists many advertisers and includes a complete breed and variety index. Winners of ABA awards are listed in the year book under Who's Who in Bantams. Starred wins are earned in classes of 100 or more in the following: - Champions and Reserve Champions in the seven bantam divisions. - Best and Reserve of Breed and Variety. - Best Display when 7 or more bantam displays are shown - Best and Reserve Display when 10 or more bantam displays are shown. - Best and Reserve Trio when 30 or more trios are shown by 4 or more exhibitors.
