All animals depend on plant for their food because all food chains begin from plants. Name different types of food that omnivores get from animals? Milk, Eggs, Fish and Meat. Why do cows and goats need to be fed on grass and oilseeds-cakes? Animals like cows and goats need to be fed on grass and oilseeds because these are milk producing food. How does an earthworm have its food? An earthworm swallows soil which has parts of dead plants and animals. This is how an earthworm has its food. Why should we take care of domestic animals? Domestic animals serve us well if we take good care of them. Hence, We should take care of domestic animals. Hot Questions; Q3:- Does a frog need teeth? Why? Not? By the action of sun, rain and wind, the rocks break up into small pieces. This continues for millions of years. These small pieces break further into smaller pieces, then carried around by wind and water and are rubbed against each other till they become tiny particles of soil. Is the size of the particles same in different types of soil? Explain? No, the size of the particles is not same in different types of soil. For example, sand particles are big whereas clay particles are very fine. How will you show that soil contains moisture? Put some soil in a small tin and cover it with a lid. With the help of an adult, open the lid. We will see drops of water inside of the lid. This shows that soil contains moisture. What are the different kinds of soil? The different kinds of soil are sandy soil, clayey soil and loam. Why do farmers add manure to the soil? Farmers add manure to the soil because it is rich in humus and it makes the soil fertile. Hot Questions; Bhura is a farmer. He wants to grow wheat. What kind of soil would he need? Bhura would need loam for growing wheat. Hari is a potter. What kind of soil would he use for making pots? Why? Hari would use clayey soil for making pots. This is so because clay particles are very fine. There is no space for air between the particles and hence this soil can hold a lot of water.

One man sits near the telephone to get urgent messages. What happens when the alarm bell rings? When the alarm bell rings Asif drives the fire engine and reaches to the spot with all his Firemen. How does Asif Help the people on the third floor? Asif climbs the ladder upto the window and helps the people trapped in the fire. Where is the little boy? The little boy is in one of the rooms of hotel. How does Asif help the little boy? Asif helps the little boy by picking him up in his arms and bringing him out of the hotel. Where in the hotel does the fire take place? The fire took place in the hotel s kitchen. Q10:- How do the firemen know the fire is in the kitchen? The firemen knows that the fire is in the kitchen because the clouds of smoke are coming out from kitchen. [Let s read between the lines] The firemen run to the fire engine. They climb on quickly. Why has the word climb been used? The word Climb has been used because the fire engine was too high.

Q3:- Q4:- Why is a siren used on a fire engine? The siren is used on a fire engine to give fire alert. Why do fireman use long ladders? The firemen use long ladders to reach to the second and third floors of building on fire. Were the people at the window:- a) Afraid? b) Nervous? c) Foolish? Q5:- The people at the window were afraid. Why were Asif and the firemen happy when they climbed on to the fire engine again? They climbed on the fire engine again because they were able to put out the fire and no one was seriously hurt. ENGLISH GRAMMER UNIT-I Topic: - Essay (GOOD MANNERS) Good manners makes a man perfect. A man who has good manners is loved and respected by all. The word please and thank you cost nothing but their use please others. A child learns in a family how to talk and how to behave with others. A child should not speak loudly. He must have good manners to respect elders. Everybody likes good manners. Good manners are the key to success. Good manners can be shown by using Sir, madam, please, dear etc. UNIT :-II Lesson:-No.2 Topic: - There is the Ice-Cream in my Eyes [Let s read and find facts] Who was Captain Smart? We know this because it was on a leash. Why did Captain Smart fire a pistol in the air? Why did she spill oil near the gate of the bank? a. Captain Smart fired a pistol in the air in order to frighten the burglars. b. She spilled oil near the gate of bank to make the robbers slip. Q3:- Did the twins throw ice-cream at Mr X and Miss Z? Q4:- Q5:- The twins threw ice-cream at Mr X and Miss Z because they did not want the burglars to see where they are going. When do you think Captain Smart called the police? I think Captain Smart called the police long before the burglars reached the bank. Discuss: a. Is the job of a detective dangerous but it is equally exciting.
